They hadn’t worked together in a while, and in the interim Hanks had really grown as an actor. When she says he’s nothing more than a suit, his reaction proved just how much he had grown.
I like how when it's from his perspective, we just see him walk away, and then when he walks in, it's from her perspective. So, it's treating him like a different person. It could've showed the moment where he changes his mind, but we'll never know just when that was.
Love this movie .... just saw so many filming sites including this cafe. Such an amazingly scene and place to go to loved the environment of this cafe still looks/feels the same 19 to 20 years later
i like how the whole time he teases her but when she made the last remark it hurt him, and she regretted it even though he kinda deserved it. i felt bad for her.
It’s a fun little bit of story symmetry I never noticed before. Here, Kathleen thanks Joe for helping her overcome her inability to think of good insults in the moment-and then later, she also credits “NY152” with helping her to start writing children’s books of her own. The irony is that she doesn’t know it’s the same person. It’s a really well put-together movie.
These two make beautiful movies together. I liked her in Kate and Leopold I am in love with Hugh Jackman and I loved her in Addicted To Love, When Harry Met Sally, Hanging Up. But I just love her and Tom Hanks together they just have so much chemistry along with Sleepless In Seattle and Joe Vs. The Volcano
When she pleaded Please leave, please please leave I beg of you. Ma boy got up and parked himself at the next table 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Oh yes...laughed so hard... He's still interested in her..lol Such a good scene

Should've made an exact duplicate of her store in the non-entrance side of Fox Books and put her on as a book expert. Same inventory, for people who want first editions and that sort of thing. Good P.R. too.
I've thought of that, too. This movie would have to be re-done with him as the guy going out of business and the love interest being someone who runs Amazon haha
I always loved this movie ever since it came out but the more I watch it (ie - the older I get) the more I'm inclined to the opinion that he's messing with her head a little too much.
True, but her character seems rather fond of his presence, nevertheless. She gets more and more comfortable the more he’s around, and the teasing seems to bother her less and less as the movie goes on. She would most likely feel some anger and a bit of betrayal, but I feel like she would forgive him. He could put money into her mother’s old store and she could manage the store and do great things with it.
I need to find the name of the song that plays in the background right before this scene, when he sees her at the cafe lalo. Can someone help me, please?
The BEST scene.when the Evil Joe Fox starts to play with marked cards in this LOVE Game. He got she loves him vía e-mail taking adventage of her unknown suitor. Kaithleen's innocent
If it's any consolation to her, Amazon probably put him out of business 20 years later.
Roflol
😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Not even 20. Movie came out in 1998 and Amazon hit the streets in 1994. He wouldn't have even existed haha
No, it's not a consolation.
"Perfect blend of poetry and meanness"
I absolutely adore this scene... It's like a modern pride and prejudice
I hate this fill. but as far as movies and stories go, this is a good scene.
They hadn’t worked together in a while, and in the interim Hanks had really grown as an actor. When she says he’s nothing more than a suit, his reaction proved just how much he had grown.
One of my favorite scenes. He acts like an ass, but he is obviously interested in her. I can feel the chemistry in my bones when I watch this.

0:14 don't know why but that hand gesture is so impressive to me.. Meg's got her own unique style
When the fancy dress guy walks in and he says “I’ll take a wild guess that’s not him either” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I like how when it's from his perspective, we just see him walk away, and then when he walks in, it's from her perspective. So, it's treating him like a different person. It could've showed the moment where he changes his mind, but we'll never know just when that was.

what's the name of the cafe?
I bet everybody in the restaurant listened to their argument. 😅
My favorite movie. They re so good together. Love all 3 they made.
Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan left us with three great movies and do we really need anything else from them
Meg Ryan is so lovable ..She and Tom Hanks have the perfect chemistry in romantic comedy movie..Sleepless in Seattle is my favorite .
This is one if two scenes i watch once in every couple years. The other one is the final scene of The Roman Holiday.
i like how the whole time he teases her but when she made the last remark it hurt him, and she regretted it even though he kinda deserved it. i felt bad for her.

He runs bookstores? Sheesh, he must be broke now LOL
I've thought of that, too. This movie would have to be re-done with him as the guy going out of business and the love interest being someone who runs Amazon haha
🤣
Update: real books still outsales e-books today
Amazon started off as books.
This a fun a lovable and modern remake
0:13 I don't know why but that and gesture from her felt so cute to me
REALLY GREAT MOVIE!
I've always wondered how he explained this behavior after she learns who he is xD mocking the rose and all
4surprisingly

Sometimes, the ends justify the means. It HAD to be this way-and love is worth a bit of subterfuge, I think.
Ce film est le remake de "Rendez-vous" ( "The shop around the corner" ) de E. Lubitsch 1940, à découvrir ou à revoir sans modération.

I love this movie
"hi, i'm Kimberly." in When Harry Met Sally, when Sally's ex Joe gets married, her name is Kimberly.... Meg says her name in that same, sarcastic way.
She hurt him 😢
This scene makes me have coffee
🤣🤣🤣 he has been written for being hated and the hero ar same time, lol ♥️♥️🤣🤣while she is adorable. For that this is a masterpiece
Based on James Stewart's movie The Shop around the Corner.
I need to find the name of the song that plays in the background right before this scene, when he sees her at the cafe lalo. Can someone help me, please?
I lost it when he bite those flowers
THIS SCENE IS OVERFLOWING WITH ETHICS
Interesting sentence.
😂♥️
What 😂😂😂
It's sad that Cafe Lalo is closed, which is where they filmed this scene. It stood for quite a while but wasn't able to overcome the Covid beast.
I think it’s open again
