Had one all thru my childhood it ran like a champ. Just enough power to go just about anywhere and on an open lake stretch her legs and do 65 with a 150 pound person on it.
@@sawingwithsandy I'm currently using my 1999 Skandic 380 as my daily utility sled. Garage find, I deleted the oil injection, then cleaned the carbs, checked the compression and for spark. Sweet ride when finished, very simple machines 😁
@bolt Action Alaska I've actually been thinking of doing the same and deleting the oil injection just to be safe. Sounds like a nice machine you've got
@@sawingwithsandywhenever my cousin bought a new 2stroke, he deletes the oil injection ASAP and mixes with synthetic. I just wanted to avoid burning a perfect 380 engine by the injection delete😁
@@sawingwithsandy So...I worked on it today, no response from key on, no crank. Nothing. Found fuse missing at ignition switch, installed and solenoid made noise and blew fuse again. Pulled the starter out, very stiff to turn by hand, solenoid will not actuate without being pushed, ordered new starter from amazon, $130 delivered. Engine turns over smooth by hand, I think it will be a runner. These things seem silly simple compared to a car with 12 computers ( volvo).
2 years later, it had a melted clutch side piston, I installed a used cyl and piston. then was advised to do the crank seals and reseal the case which I did, then rebuilt the carbs. when I try the elec start I get smoke from the harness under the pull start so it will just be a pull start. still haven't test run it yet but a local expert pulled it through and said it feels ready to go.
it runs ! , Just racing around the garden , waitin for enough snow to open the trails. Grabbed a zeus helmet for $20 yesterday. Elec start works great too.
What is a reasonable top speed for that sled ? I bought the same sled and am waiting for it to snow her in Ontario. I just put new Slydog skis and sliders on it.
Well I can tell ya that when I bought it certainly wasn't 40 bucks. You sure got a deal on that one! These units are really popular around here in Ontario Canada.
People overlook the 380 fan cooled sleds saying they’re not worth anyone’s time, but man this engine with twin carbs sure does roar down the trails
Just bought a 96 Touring le today, cant wait for winter

Absolutely. Great running machine right there

Man that thing can turn a pretty tight corner!
Just picked one up this winter, put a new suspension in her and her maiden voyage is this Saturday. Nice Vid! SKOL!
That’ll be a fun setup. Have fun!
I like it. Too bad they don't make sleds like this anymore.
Thanks for checking out the 380! Sure is a great sled
Just bought one for 250.
Lady said it runs but keeps quitting.
Sounds like carb.
Going to pick it up now.
Right on. That’s a steal of a price!

this is what my old lady has, if friggin rips for such a small sled, hers don't even have reverse
It’s a fun sled for sure
Thumb to the bar! Nice unit :)
2strokes and blue smoke . Thumb to the bar

To be honest I’ve never hit the top speed. I let off as it continues to pull around 100km/h
What size was the track
Hey Dustin, unfortunately I'm not sure off the top of my head
That t one I have but mine a 550
How fast
How much did you pay? I just got mine for $40

metal ski's?
Yeah metal skits with some plastic. I’d like to replace them as they don’t steer too wheel. Makes for really hard turning
@@sawingwithsandy thought so thanks!
helmet
Yeah you’re right. I should wear a helmet more around the place
@@sawingwithsandyI don't even where a helmet don't worry about it
