Started following your video's last year and have enjoyed all of them. As tournament angler we have all experienced the highs and lows. I appreciate you keeping it very real with us. Each new day on the water is a new opportunity. A top 60 or 30 cut in the next one changes everything! Good luck pulling for you!
We all do it. I've been practicing for an upcoming tournament on a new lake. For 3 weeks (I was only fishing one day a week) I fished how I thought I was supposed to fish, how "they" say you're supposed to fish under the conditions we had and not how I fish. I caught nothing. Finally made my mind up to fish how I fish and lo and behold I started putting fish in the boat, using all the wrong baits, techniques, and in all the wrong places.
Your vlogs are always about how you can help "us" be better, not vlogs about "me me me". Love you for that bro!! Keep up the great vids and gettem' next time.
You do you. So true. That’s what got you to where you are. Got to trust that gut feeling. Your awesome B Lat and your videos are awesome thanks for sharing.
This video truly resonated with me, man! I appreciate your advice, "you do YOU!" You are correct, that mantra fits every facet of life. I will always remain a subscriber, BLat!
What a great vlog! It sucks you didn’t get on them, but it is an awesome lesson that shows all of us what we should think about when or if we encountered similar situations! Keep the hammer down! I have a great feeling that you’ll bounce back on your next tourney!!!👍🏻
We have all done the same thing. It is only when we don't learn from it, that it is a loss. You'll slay 'em next time fishing the way you are comfortable. Great video and a great lesson - for fishing and for life. Thank you for sharing.
B.Lat, We've all been there at some point in our life, when you have that feeling that what you feel will work but try to make something else work because we see others making it work for them. When we put the trust in ourselves to do what we know we can do and do good we sleep better at night. We learn from our challenges and hopefully the ones that don't turn out good for us we don't repeat. As always thanks for sharing, time to get ready for Lake Lanier.
Awesome advice BLat! You'll get'em at Lanier where you know the big spots will love the wacky rig and shaky head techniques. Should be right in your wheelhouse!
Everybody does the same thing you did here! But you learned not to ever second guess your decisions. I have made the same mistakes and learned a valuable lesson. Keep your head up and keep grinding! You are definitely on the verge to being at the top!
Even if you fail doing it your way, you control that destiny. We all (multiple times) fish how we think others will beat us, and 9/10 we get beat worse because that is not our way. There isn't a tournament angler on here that hasn't learned that lesson, or like me, continue to learn this lesson because I am hard headed. Good luck and we are all cheering for ya.
If it came easy ,you/we wouldn't remember it as well. Lifes lessons earned hard always remembered. Love the vids and the tips brother. God Bless and Good luck.
B.Lat we all have let doubt creep in and keep us from doing our best. Trust in yourself, be true to yourself. You didn’t fail, you have experienced and learned. We enjoy what you do and thanks for sharing. Henry and Lor
I really appreciate the courage to say what you did. No lie we all as men have that creep up on us from time to time. But correcting it is the key. I'll be watching all tour long. I support all you do. Timing on that water is key. Harris chain is a beast man. BUT ALWAYS DO WHAT YOUR COMFORTABLE WITH. Flipping is one if my strong suits also. So DO YOU MAN!!!! Let ZMAN GUIDE YOU. Sometimes it's not the water. Just what you use to determine alot of bites in a particular area. And the big ones aren't dumb like the small ones. Slow down to what you do best. And up size those baits big girls move slow. GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND. ROCK THIS YEAR. AOY FINALIST....😎😎😎😎
Good work B.Lat... you're an example of learning and growing... we'll see you on the top 1/2 of the leader boards soon enough. I'm always looking for a way to get better too, talking to guides n' such, thinking I'm not doing it right. Come to find out, I'm doing better than the average guide in a lot of cases. This vlog was speaking directly to me bro... keep up the good work.
Appreciate it BLat. I am fishing a local tournament series this year and during practice at a new lake Friday my coangler and myself fished 6 hours with no bites. I started second guessing myself for the tournament next week, so I really needed this talk. I need to stick with what I have confidence in.
I hear you. I have gotten to the point of setting alarm to remind me to change or go back. easy to lose track during tournament day it's always one more cast or point etc
Yeah, we learned that same lesson the hard way when we were tournament fishing. But we learned quick. Live or die doing it your way. We stayed to win more.
In my crappie tourneys I always go where no-one goes or try too.... what works for you may not work for someone else and the same goes the other way around.... get on'em next time and GOOD LUCK....👍👍👍
Thats something that i have had to teach myself in life. Play your game. There is always more than one way to skin a cat ( figure of speech). You practiced one way and if it worked, Stick with it. Always play smart ball and adjust your own style accordingly.
Cool guy BLat. Anytime you're up in Ontario, Canada, look me up. I have a spot waterfront on Pigeon Lake. It's part of the Tri-Lakes and great fishing including tournaments. I'll put you up for free and you can fish all you wish....even a tourney.
I do this every tournament but not this year, keep your head up brother you are doing a awesome job plus its a good learning experience. Be Blessed my friend you get them next one.
Excellent video. Thanks.

I appreciated your honesty; sometimes we get too into our heads and forget that fishing is as much an art as a science.
