Threw out my back with a sneeze and I’m not even 40 yet. The struggle is real! 😂
Huh? 😯your back is gone??
I've done the same thing! Was horrible
Awww...hope Michael heals soon! ♥️
I appreciate Jon's humility. His delivery is comedic & reassuring.
"I'm at that Age" no truer words have ever been spoken.. If you know you know.
only 3 minutes of this? I could watch a half an hour or more of these two
'Expectations vs reality ' strikes again.
Jon Stewart’s perspective is something I always appreciate. Still thrilled about his return to The Daily Show. Please get better Michael Kosta❤
I accidentally read this as a sick burn 😆
I loved when he called out the Covid vaccine coming from wuhan instead of wet markets on Colbert.
My dad was a British paratrooper but managed to break his foot stepping off a curb...
Proof indeed that the cosmos has a sense of humor...
Grandfather was the same. Paratrooper in WWII, he made 3 air drops in the war, never got hurt on landing, never even got a scratch on him in the whole war... three weeks after the war ended, after returning home, he stepped off his porch, rolled his ankle and snapped it.
@@Hathur Ironic, right? Dad laughed about it.
never know that'll get cha.
Right?
It's weird!
I was a student athlete!
ran track, played basketball, dance, ballet, tap, gymnastics and.....
I broke my foot walking in a straight line and tripped over my own foot 😭
Such grace and coordination 😂
I threw out my back changing my position reading the newspaper some 30 yrs ago 😂😂 was out of work for a week. My dr and boss couldn't stop laughing 😢
The thumbnail for this video of Kosta looking absolutely evil is hilarious lol
I just love the repeated instinctual need on his part to make the folders be closed.
Feel better soon, Kosta!
that's the Kosta doin business!
Everyone on the Daily Show is our comedic release. Thank you. Keep it up. We love you.
I did the same thing. Really f’d up my foot and ankle. Was the fourth major injury to that one. Now I live with awful arthritis. But it was funny because while I was stuck on the ground I had 2 dogs licking my face. I kept saying, “Not in the mouth”! 😂
Thank you, Kosta. That is exactly something I would do (and have done similar)
Michael, i did exactly the same thing a few days before turning 21. I broke the talus bone of my right ankle and was in a cast for a long time. There is no shame.
Michael Kosta's career high world tennis ranking was 864, which he achieved on November 24, 2003
better than 869
Which is really impressive if you think about it.
You sound jealous
@@Alexis84DE Stated a fact. You are now muted and blocked as a troll. Bye.
Which is very high level. There are many countries where he'd be the best player in the entire country.
Thank you, guys, for making us laugh during these times. ❤❤❤😊😅
I hope you heal quickly Michael!
i feel you...2 years ago we were "just" walking on the beach at a local lake....my kids and my wife were running around and having fun. I tripped because of a hole in the sand...and my ankle was messed up. The thing was...this happened during a walk....an 1 hour before i was on the run at the same spot and nothing happened.
At least this leaves an impression with your young kids ^^ mine (similar age to yours) kept telling the story of how dad hurt himself for months.
Similar thing in my late 20s walking off a 3 step deck, when the last board broke. Was out of work for about 3 months as an electrician with my ankle purple and green from bruising
I hurt my ankle on a snowy curb in at the Chicago airport when I was 35. Missed my flight to Cancun because they took me by ambulance to the hospital for x-rays. I got a later flight and limped around in Mexico for a week. (That was 35 years ago, by the way. Imagine what I've done to myself since then!) Get well, Michael!
I do martial arts and skateboard. Only thing that hurt my foot in 400+ days was stepping off a curb coated in snow.
i was a dancer most of my life, never had any injuries. when i turned 30, I broke my foot in what is diagnosed as a “dancer’s break” while sightseeing . I did not fall, my foot simply slid out of my clog. and broke. dancer’s break.
I tripped on a step by my building's door and scratched my chin up bad.
I was looking for a cat that sometimes sits in a window 😅
you're so valid for this
CRUSHING. IT. 😂❤
I thought jon was just joking with the tennis comment. Had no idea Kosta was actually a pro tennis player. Thats wild.
Get well soon Michael Kosta
Broke BOTH ankles falling down 5 stairs😅😂
"we could still use our hands" that's a fantastic joke.
I just sprained my wrist opening a jar of nacho sauce.
Hunh.
When they say break a leg, I don’t think they mean this, Kosta
P. S. Hope the ankle heals smoothly and you recovery soon!
I literally broke my ankle a year ago with the dumbest story ever. I fell walking up two stairs. I feel his pain quite literally.
More of this, pls
He hurt his "Fifi" 😂😂😂 ☠️☠️☠️
Get well soon Michael. You and my only son of 4 children share the same first name.
Having hurt my knee I can sympathize
Jon, please run for president in 2028. We desperately need you!
#JonStewart2028
If we will be able to vote sadly
Let's stop the trend of making entertainers president please. No disrespect.
@@andrewbogard2411why wouldn’t you ?
@@Taijifufu he's not just an entertainer
elevated kickball lol
Reminds me of this funny story I heard when I was a kid; My aunt one time fell backwards off a patio that was about 15" high.. and to everyone's surprise, she was rushed to the local ICU with multiple injuries. True story. I think is was a broken ankle - bent 180 degrees, broke elbow, sprained wrist and a bad concussion.
Let's go!
Can you Jon and Acosta join forces?
Jon is also hot and athletic despite his self-effacing nature
as a fellow ex-tennis instructor and player I've done something this screwball as well...
Get well soon Kosta!
Ah.... Baby boy.... ouch... feel better
You should run for President! I'm Canadian but a proud East Coaster, North American!
Michael Akosta’ed
I have done the same thing! Dumb curbs
Why is this so short?
that’s what people ask about jon stewart! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Poor Kosta
Don't feel bad, I got out of bed and tripped over a dog bed and broke my ankle. I had, had a few drinks before 😂😂 Hopefully you get better soon ❤
Couple of years ago, where I live we had a fairly harsh winters where negative temperatures kept the sidewalks covered in ice for a couple of weeks. I must've slipped at least five different times during that time and came out of that unscathed, with some minor pains.
The first day of spring, I woke up with a searing pain in my foot. The reason? I had a very vivid dream where I trashed a lot, and literally kicked my foot against the wall. Ended up in a cast for two months and with crutches... just because I was sleeping. 😂
If it’s even a slight drop or step up and you’re not ready for it, man… it’s surprising how much it can mess you up.
Michael Costa is so much better than the other guy who try’s hosting the show.
Broke my knee last year after stupidly tripping on a small block of concrete in the parking lot of the airport in Bangkok, had been in the country for less than an hr 😭 spent 2 weeks in the hospital in BKK and was then repatriated… these sort of accidents happen in the most mundane situations and in a split second, and are mostly just incredible bad luck.
I bet his injury is not a fracture though, he’d definitely be getting a scan then to know what’s wrong. My ER doctor initially claimed I’d be walking in a few hrs, I knew right away he was wrong and that it was something much more serious…
😂 i know the feeling. A dog tried to take my arm on a run. Had to have surgery.surgeon said the injury was similar to ones he aaw in football and basball players since i kept using it to lift.
The curb monster takes another victim.
A coworker broke a toe dropping a tupperware on it.
This is the most mom thing to ever happen so somebody.
And, look at All American football former President Ford, he was always falling or having accidents even tho he was a great skier and sthlete
given how both of these men have unapologetically shilled for health insurance companies in recent weeks, i am sure michael kosta received the best treatment money can buy! 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Aww poor Michael!
Get it x-rayed! Just to make sure you don't have a fracture. Then USD the RICE Method: Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. Make frozen slushy packs for icing with Ziploc baggies - fill with water and about 1/4 as much rubbing alcohol ( isopropyl alcohol). Put Ziploc bags in freezer. More alcohol means less frozen slushy, less alcohol means more frozen slushy. Feel better soon!
I tripped on a curb and broke my jaw, wrist, and knee. Bad day just walking down the street.
Holy sh- I'm in shock for you!
Why do some people look so graceful using crutches?! The one time I had to use them, I looked like a baboon on a bad acid trip 😂
At 65 quick maintenance all day long is key
💙🇺🇸💙🇺🇸
Here in NZ you'd be lucky to get an x-ray. Seem to avoid them these days.
I was walking too close to edge and my foot slipped off the curb, twisted it pretty bad.
What do you mean you didn't have it xrayed?!?!
maybe the health insurance companies that kosta was cheering on a few weeks ago denied him coverage to get an x-ray!
I had tripped, fallen off small flight of stairs twice in my life with only a minor sprain on my ankle, twisted my ankle for no apparent reason while wearing sneakers and I turned out fine. However, the moment I held out a box of pastries from Porto's for more than a minute with one hand, my wrist was never the same and had to take physical therapy. 😑
I ran a marathon over varied terrain then afterwards broke my ankle on a curb.
Sooo who was that anonymous dude that walked past the camera?
Looked like a crew member. I was at a taping of the Daily Show one time (and was at a taping of Jon's first talk show in '93, The Jon Stewart Show). There are always crew people walking around doing the things they have to do, Since neither Jon nor Michael were actually "on camera" (meaning it wasn't their close up segment where they are looking directly into the main camera) having crew walking around in front of the cameras isn't a big deal. As a stage manager & tech director for live theatrical productions I actually enjoy watching crew members walking around doing their jobs!
WHAT!
I did this exact thing in 2013 and i still cant walk normally. Ripped all my ligaments and fractured my ankle.
A week before my 40th birthday, I fell down the stairs and broke my ankle in multiple places.
Broke 2 bones in my foot coming off a curb. Hope the ankle mends quickly.
Fell off my bike & broke my cheekbone on a curb. those things are evil.
He needs to get x-rayed. I would think the show would make him! Or more likely his wife.
Why? They won't do anything anyway. It's the pinky toe
The show wouldn't "make him" as he did it on his own time, so it's not work related. Although, to be fair, parenting IS a full time job & anytime parents get hurt while with their kids (think of babies doing that back arch thing where they suddenly slam their 300lb baby heads directly into your eye socket!) there SHOULD be a way to collect workers comp payments!!!!
@@catharineorellana3522 ⚘️I love your logic. Breastfed for years w/ea kid ~ no bra can resurrect that which once rode proud & high. My girls have fallen & now swing at belly button level ala National Geographic... So the coverage needs to include augmentation & serious atta-girls...⚘️LOL. LOVE TO PARENTS WHO DID ALL THEY COULD & THEIR KIDS SURVIVED.
Funny story... i was playing table tennis at work with a coworker during my break. To this day i have no idea how it happened but he ended up spraining his ankle... while playing table tennis. 😅
Next day he came to work with crutches.
My wife got a herniated disk from normally getting up in the morning.
My dream is to work at the daily show. Even if it’s for one day
Who walked infront of the camera?! 😂
I sprained my ankle taking the garbage can down to the curb for pickup. 10 years prior I fought off 2 violent pit bulls while taking my octogenarian neighbor's garbage to the curb.
Jon says that. But Jay Leno fell down a 60ft hill last month trying to take a shortcut to a restaurant near the pittsburg hampton inn he was staying at. And he still did the next shows
In fairness, Leno would snap out of a coma of you just whispered to him that Conan was going to host while he was recovering.
@ralphflint4264 i still think leno is preparing a monologue for the oscars this year, just so that he can replace conan again! 😆😆😆
I played sports all my life... broke my calcaneus swimming back in 2020 and now im disabled 🙃
I also slipped 9 vertebrae in my back once brushing a dog (who was not moving)..
Tripped on a blanket in the bush one night, and fell off a 12 foot cliff.. slipped every vertebrae in my neck and back.. they didn't know how I was walking..
Cut open my arm once, opening a tarp bag with the claw side of the hammer..
Had my toes glued together once, because I tried over my bedtime and it wouldn't stop bleeding from between two toes.
Neighbour's house caught on fire (BBQ blew up, it was up near their house)... took in their two cats, and when they had a new home, one cat was so traumatized he bit me 8 times trying to get him in a crate, and got cellulitis in my hand
I fell over last week as i was walking backwards looking up at birds😅 i landed on my pinky finger and broke it. I'd like to think it's a one-off accident, but i know better
My aunt tripped on a curve when she was 35 and she shattered her elbow on the way down, it can happen
I got a trimalleolar fracture paddle boarding. BECAUSE I’M AWSOME!!!!! 💪
Jon, what other kind of soccer is there besides American soccer?
Didn't know Jon was a soccer guy, cool. Well, elevated kickball guy, but still...
How old is Kosta? I'm almost 50 and I haven't broken a bone since I was a teenager.
Be careful what you say. It was just after 50 when things started happening to me. Torn meniscus, rotator cuff and Achilles tendon.
I am age 77 and have never broken any bones. My cousin jumped off the roof of the chicken coop and broke his arm in 1958. I vowed to never do anything that could break a bone.
My brother broke his ankle playing touch football in junior high school.
My sympathy, I dislocated my ankle and broke my leg falling on the step out the front of my own house.
I got 28 bone breaks, nerve damage, and brain damage from a police beating.
Have three five year old grandchildren. Son had to buy his daughter a cane cause she loved it. The twins are having to dress like 100 year old person for school....they are going as me...I am not that old but look ancient to them
LOL. IVE GOT THE VISUAL!
John If you don’t think trump is a fascist idk what we should start calling Mussolini
That is actually Milos the tennis player from Seinfeld
Kosta was a full on tennis player. Sorry dude.
Jokes about crutches are literally lame jokes.
Kosta, I’m confident I can beat you at tennis
As long as you’re gimped up and on crutches and for the record Jon is close in age to me; but, younger. I’m so confident I’ll make it financially interesting with a “Trading Places” bet of “one dollar”. 😂😂😂
Get well soon! And as they say in show biz, “Break a foot”!
Speedy recovery to our most trusted finance guru Kosta.
Sad to see him CRUTCHIN' IT.
Who else was reminded of Ed Helms showing the clip of his non-athletic MLB opening pitch during his Mark Twain Prize ceremony as Jon was talking?
Use a cane every day and still manage every once in a while to fall...take care
