Watched the first half and will come back for the remainder. Loved it! The theme is a favourite anyway but these rules are terrific and the aircraft models fantastic! Easy to follow and enjoyable video, cheers! :)
That was an action packed game! It reminded me of a scene from the motion picture "The Blue Max". I did manage to downloaded the rules and aeroplane files. I am really happy to finally get a copy of Algernon Pulls it Off. When I first perused the 2FL catalogue years back, I wanted to order a copy. Unfortunately I had procrastinated (as I am ought to do from time-to-time), by the time I had finally gotten around to ordering a copy, I found to my dismay that APO had been removed from the catalogue. Thank you Alex for your work, further I am grateful to Richard Clarke for his generosity and allowing a pdf copy of their files to be made available again...as a gift. Cheers!
Once again an excellent set-up and super game, a great intro to the set of rules and game play, your dice throws were nearly as good as mine (anything but a one) , very interested in the ww1 (great war) and use to play with 1/72 scale aircraft with house rules at my old club. I'm even going to get a set of the rules and download your files ;) enjoyed it so much, (i'm also a big fan of ww2 aircraft and was thinking about setting up a BoB game). Keep up the good work and keep on rolling them dice.
Thank you for another entertaining and informative video Alex. I will definitely "Bag" a copy of these rules as well as the original Bag the Hun from the Lardies. I've always been into this area of conflict since watching an old tv series called Wings. loved your 'lozenge" patten camo I saw on Twitter.
Great video one really gets a feel for the rules and how they work. Thanks for making the rules available. I have a large collection of Wings of Glory 1/144 aircraft so I will be using that scale. (DeRuyter from the VL Discord). I be picking up BtH as well.
Cheers Eric, glad you enjoyed the video. I was going to use my WoW planes but I also wanted a smaller hex and an excuse to paint a load of 1/300th planes...
Alex, thank you (and Richard Clark) for making these rules available again. Having just purchased the Bag the Hun rules, it will be a while before I get around to playing them (& perhaps adapting my Wings of War stuff). Your video was very helpful for explaining the mechanics, though. I had a quick flick through & noticed that the Snap Turn diagram (page 18) says: "One direction turn is the norm, but two can be made by Camels or Fokker Dr Is turning to the left." This is incorrect as the rotary engine span to the right & enabled these planes to turn twice as fast in that direction (one source: Haynes Manual, Sopwith Camel, p99). I know these were early rules & basically a WIP, so maybe a change for any future edition 😊
Thanks Terry, glad you enjoyed the video. Yeah, I noticed that about the snap turn as well. I don't think there ever will be a second edition of these particular rules, but Richard was working on What a Fokker, which has been on hiatus for a while now.
Great video and thank you for providing the files. Do you think I could use these rules for US vs Japan in the 1930's? A little War Plan Orange action in the pacific. Mark.
Thanks and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I would say Bag the Hun would be more useful for the 1930s aerial warfare than Algy, but it would be easy enough to try them both out.
When I hear of anything new from TFLs, I get pretty excited. As an avid and long-time "Blue Max" player with 1/72 scale models...I'm very excited about the rules. Will sit down and watch the video. I used your link to download the pdf, but the MS Word docs will not download...need permissions or something. It may be said in the video, but will I have to purchase Bag the Hun to play these? Looking forward to watching the full video here in a few minutes...MTF.
I hope you've enjoyed the video by now. I'm not sure what has happened with the word documents, I don't have a notification telling me someone needs permissions. Have you tried again? You don't need BtH to play, but it helps as BtH expands on some of the rules in Algy a bit more.
@@StormofSteelWargaming Thank you for the fast response. I did watch the video and still on the fence if this is for me. Like I said before a BIG "Blue Max" fan for over 30 years. The advance rules adds in the altitude aspect which is essential for aerial combat. Thanks again.

Cheers, I am glad you enjoyed the first half! Yeah, these are really good rules and great fun on the tabletop!

Cheers Robert, I am glad you are able to get the game again!
Another good intro to the game (like the Bag the Hun one), will be printing out the rules. And thanks for the shout out! Garry
Cheers Garry! I hope you enjoy the game it's a good one and no worries about the mention, I hope it gets you more sales!

Cheers Richard, I am glad you enjoyed the video. It's a great game and well worth checking out!
This is such a fun game. I really enjoyed your playthrough. I need to break this out again.
Cheers, glad you enjoyed it and yes, get playing it!

I’ve been looking to get these. Thanks! My little 4 year old is mad for World War I aviation…a future tabletop ace no doubt. Thanks Alex!
Thanks Joe, I am glad you enjoyed the video and I am sure the little one will love the game as well...
Really enjoyed this Alex. Thanks for the rules. Have wanted to get a copy for years. Looks like another side project is on the horizon.
Cheers Paul, glad to have been of service!
Great report Alex! Such suspense! Can’t wait to see more.
Cheers buddy, there's more coming, don't you worry!
Beautiful game on a cool table. Looks like a lot of fun. Thank you for sharing all of the resources for this game.
My pleasure!
Where could I buy decals for the planes? Bonus if I could print my own or purchase in the US. Thanks.
I got mine from I-94, but Flight Deck also do them.
I really like that game mat!
It's from Deep Cut Studios

Curious as to where the flight stand 5mm double dice holders are from.
They are 7mm dice holders and Pendraken make them along with the dice.
Thanks!
Looks interesting but I have so many games on the go atm.
It is very interesting! But yeah, I know that problem, Ken.
Thanks Alex, where did you get the hex and rod clear plastic from?
Cheers Doug, they came from ebay. If you have a look at one of my recent bench reports I put links for them in the description.
