Two of my greatest bass influences. The "deep down in the pocket" Marco Mendoza and "fancy shredder" Billy Sheehan. Both are able to raise hell in a fancy solo and serve the music if it is required. I feel like Marco shines in the "Dead Daisys", and Billy not in Talas, not in Mr. Big, but in the "Winery Dogs". I love the songs, I love the bass playing.

These two guys right about one thing in the part 1 of this interview. Once pro players of any instrument reach a certain level, it's not about who's better, it's about what flavor do you want? Billy is busier than some but he can make straight 8th notes feel the best you've ever felt. Marco is the same. He can rip some amazing parts but make the simple stuff feel really well and sound awesome.
