What is your reasoning behind going at 2/3 send in the very beginning? I've seen another YT player show some optimized strategy and it's around 1/3. Tried both, and I suck about the same with each of them:D Maybe a bit more survivability with 1/3.

I'm not a pro player myself but if you do 1/3 you're gonna have a bit of an advantage troops wise which makes it easier for you to survive in the beginning but someone next to you that did 2/3 is gonna have more territory and will soon overtake you in troop count because they have more territory so it's basically low risk low reward and high risk high reward.

@@Muffinracker Thank you for your answer, a second question I have is about bot behavior. It seems like (in 1v1 mode) they are more likely to attack you if you have less troops? When having a troop advantage it seems to me like the bots still can attack you over an easy target, but do so rarely, but when doing the more aggressive expansion I feel it's more frequent that bots decide to attack you and ruin your opening game.

He was not bad, but CG had less bots around him in the beginning, giving him more free space to expand
Also CG is actually so skilled that a decent player looks bad next to him when he is as lucky as he was in the game

@@smsmbro2280 I think I've been playing for close to as long as CG has been playing for, and have tried countless methods of playing every part of the game. I tried a similar expansion as CG's but I found it to be too risky and dependent on luck. I tried playing very hard bots for a while a found a strategy which would be completely independent on luck and almost perfect statistically. This means that I do not take into account who spawns where, and just focus on the most efficient form of expansion in regards to troop count, troop density, interest, and pixel count.
However I haven't quite mastered the "middle-game" where you expand into bots and so forth, so I couldn't give a proper explanation.
