    If one wants his review be helpful and valuable, he may need to provide: a) what hardness/thickness version of the product he is reviewing; b) compared to other popular products -- in terms of hardness, speed, handfeel, through angle, tackiness, dweltime ...... whatever characteristics you can tell. Nowadays, maybe T05, MX-P, DHS H3, Rakza 7 are the most popular ones. Furthermore, it will make you a outstanding reviewer if you can provide your own opinions frankly. Every time I watch your video I was upset because not enough useful information as I expected. -- My two cents.

    Thank you for this review. i end up buying H8 for my FH. :)
    Can you do a review for the other new rubbers from DHS like the H3-50, Skyline 3-60, and DHS LONG 3/5 blade. that would be of a big help if you do. I haven't seen any good video reviews of those rubbers I've mentioned. Thanks! :) Keep it up!

    Love this rubber!!! Tons of control even though it's quite different from euro or Japanese sponge rubbers. A bit hard and thus a bit slower, but the control and accuracy makes up for the lack of pace.

      Harder means faster...

    • @gab5012
      @gab5012 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blueheart9873 harder doesn't necessarily mean faster, softer sponges can have a more springy sponge and therefore more bouncy and ease of speed, harder rubbers are more firm which is good for top end power shots like loop kills or big counter top spins, but not all harder rubbers are immediately faster

    • @blueheart9873
      @blueheart9873 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gab5012 You are right. The biggest difference is: harder=top end speed (maximum possible speed) or sometimes referred to as "power". Faster=shorter contact time or more bounciness

      This is my exact experience too. Thing is, I lucked into it. I wanted to try one of the fastest blades ever' and get it out of my system for fun. I paired with H8 to tone down the speed, and boy did this thing feel amazing and nice! Much better feel to me personally than an Inerforce ALC

    I see some people have said this already but I'm sure that the fact you guys keep your elbows bent through the forehand loop play a big impact in your review. High tension surface and sponge compensate for the shorter euro movement, and this rubber is definitely better suited for a more full arm loop.

    • @codectified
      @codectified 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Tyler Russin hello! interesting comment! can you elaborate? I really like the H8 but I'm trying to understand why and I'm not really sure.. comparing it to the tenergy 05fx and the xiom vega elite is interesting.. I think I like the H8 better than the tenergy (especially because it's so much cheaper).. but does that mean the tenergy will outlast the H8?

    • @whatevereyewant
      @whatevereyewant 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Most Chinese rubber have tacky surfaces to grip the ball and more dense sponge vs tenergy having a sponge that absorbs the ball and has a high tension surface creating more of a catapult effect. Having said that, most Chinese players play full armed loops for their power since Chinese rubber isn't high tension (look at Ma Long and Xu Xin) compared to Euro players that keep their elbows bent for a quicker stroke (like Timo Boll) but have a catapult effect using rubber like tenergy. In another words the type of rubber that you use can also compliment your play style even though these are hard or fast rules. And how long your rubber last really comes down to how you take care of it. I used my first sheets of tenergy for a long time. But in my opinion tenergy is very delicate for the nature and close table situations you get into at times and I've ripped the top sheet badly before. Use distilled water and a table tennis sponge after play and avoid chemical cleaners. And just be careful obviously. Lol.

    • @codectified
      @codectified 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      So you are saying that the farther extension of the arm during the loop, or the chinese way, generates more power? so what happens when a euro stroke uses the chinese rubber, they don't have enough power? and when the chinese stroke meets the euro rubber what happens then? I think what I noticed at first was that the loops with tenergy were going long from the catapault but eventually I got used to it and could drop the ball quicker.. but then I switched to the H8 and I feel like I like it more, but I'm not sure why.. there is also tension on the H8 but not the same as tenergy I guess.. but maybe the bigger difference is in the sponge then... I think I heard Ma Long used Tenergy on backhand or something like that but now uses H8 on both sides.. I'm not sure myself I'll have to play more to see

    • @pnachtwey
      @pnachtwey 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I have found that all my DHS rubbers are just about indestructible but they do lose their tack after a while.
      What it all comes down to is preference and what stroke you have. Dan summed it up that the stroke is more vertical to get the same spin however, there is no force or impulse on the ball that H8 or T05 can generate that the other can not. It just takes different strokes. You will prefer the rubber that matches your strokes.

    • @pnachtwey
      @pnachtwey 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      "High tension surface and sponge compensate "
      What is tensioned? What holds it in tension? How is tension used in a formula so one can calculate the spin and speed after impact? What is important is elasticity, not tension. They are two different things and have different units.

      kurama Naruto According to Chinese offensive style, the best setup is hard rubber on flexible blade. It gives you good feeling, control and power. However, you need a good physical strength to make a long powerful stroke. Myself, used to love bouncy Japanese and European rubbers. But when I play heavy topspin, I can’t hit very hard as if I do it will go out of the table. Since I switched to hard, tacky Chinese rubber on my forehand side, I feel more confident when forehand topspin as I can hit harder and the ball won’t go out of the table. But I still use Japanese rubber on my backhand because my backhand stroke is not so powerful so bouncy rubber is better for my backhand.

    • @TableTennisDaily
      @TableTennisDaily  9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hey, I would say the Tenergy 05 is faster. It depends on your technique, if you have a Chinese style technique with a lot of power you can generate huge amounts of power with the H8. However if you don't than the 05 will be quicker. Hope this helps :) Join us on the TableTennisDaily.co.uk for more :)

    • @lgeiger
      @lgeiger 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TableTennisDaily I am using the T05 right now. I am mostly hitting my topspins with a lot of speed and spin. Sometimes I am overpowering and playing too risky, but playing the right shot at the right time is something I am trying to learn right now. I can generate good spin and speed with the T05 and I am actually happy with it. I once played with an unboosted Hurricane 3 (commercial version). The rubber felt totally dead. After some time the rubber became a little more dynamic, but it was still super slow compared to other rubbers. I never played with a provincial or national one and I would have loved to know how it feels like to play with those rubbers. "The Chinese professionals must use them on their forehand for a reason" I thought. My questions are: Can an unboosted H8 be faster than the T05 if you hit/brush the ball hard enough or do you have to boost it? Would you say that a boosted H8 is faster than the T05 when playing counter-topspins?

    • @razer10343
      @razer10343 9 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      L. Gyger I see you want a solution. H3 Neo or H8 are really similar. I played chinese rubber on tournaments and I can confirm that with H3 Neo you can topspin more consistent. I think I used the chinese loop really good cause I always played with this technique. So if you have the right technique H8 behaves like Tenergy 05. That sounds crazy but that's real. You have to go into the technique and learn to swing your whole arm instead of lower arm only. Have you seen Ma Long play against defense player. Most chinese can smack the shit out of the ball due to great rubber. This also applies for their forehand kill attack. Europeans have trouble to kill the ball with a smash against defenders cause their rubber is not made for powerful movement. So most european plsyer ended up loop a underspin ball from the defender very slowly topspin or in the net. Counter Attack with H3 was really bad because the high throw makes your counter attack uncontrollable. You are forced to topspin loop. Otherwise you lose. As the review says H8 is low throw, so you might have a chance of a good counter attack rubber. But this also depends of your blade because your blade can change throw angle a lot. So last but not least LEARN THE RIGHT TECHNIQUE - WATCH CHINESE VIDEOS - BUY DECENT H8 OR H3 NEO RUBBER - PLAY IT AT LEAST 4 MONTH SO YOU BRAKE INTO THE SPONGE AND THEN YOU READY TO BE MA LONG

  • @ГлебПолищук-с8о
    @ГлебПолищук-с8о 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I am very skeptical about the hurricane 8. Without booster Chinese sticky rubber, such as a hurricane 3 neo good only for training. Too hard top and rubber sponge. Provincial version has a more elastic top of the rubber. I played with a blue sponge on stiga clipper. Also played the national version with orange sponge on nittaku rutis. These rubber better than the commercial version. But still need a booster. The price for the national version is too high. For sale a lot of fakes these rubbers. The guys who do the review plays in the European style. The conclusions that they do not quite correct. But they have a fairly high level of training. If your level is lower, it will be very difficult to use all the opportunities that have rubber.

    I use Hurricane 8 on a Primorac Carbon and it is a beautiful combination. It softens up the fast blade, slower rubber with the tacky spin gives great feel and control, and when you really unload hard with the kinetic chain, it doesn't spring out on you. It keeps it's path. To really appreciate this rubber, you can open up with a ton of power from off the table and this thing has control. I can hit this rubber much harder physically than with any tensors and keep control.

      They mostly use popular rubbers, which means they are probably going to do well. It's hard to say that a rubber is bad or worse than another at that caliber. It really just comes down to preference by that point. However, it would be nice to see what they think of some popular rubbers on the next tier down such as the Nittaku Flyatt series or the Xiom Vega series for example.

    You can only buy them in sizes of 2.15mm or 2.2mm (hurricane 3 or hurricane 8).
    Are the they legal according to the Ittf guidelines (rubber on one side should be max 2.0mm)?
    I don't plan on competing in some big tournament, but i don't want to play with a blade/rubber that's not up to some standard. Like playing basketball without a proper sized ball sort of thing.

    What I don't like about "tacky" types of rubbers is that they lose the "tackiness" quite fast. And then you rely on the dwell time again for spin. So either they don't last very long or you just have to adjust somewhere in the middle when you don't have that much tackiness anymore.

    • @joeillingworth1141
      @joeillingworth1141 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on source of tackyness. A nice hard rubber will retain it for a very long time

I've been playing for a year and my level is medium , of course I want something to last at least a year and a half
    Thanks.

      Haiman's TV cause chinese rubbers are ungorgiving, need more power and precision, power from the hips and legs. Europe players doesnt train so much as Chinese.

      I Play with hurricane 3 neo for about 6 months and I love it,then switch to hurricane 8 now my game is even better.At first it feel very weak to attack but when it start to break in,power will come with technic which is faster,better control and good block.Not sure if it has more spin than neo ,so far I love it and don't really like it at first.
