The Wehrmacht were full of Nazis who committed war crimes throughout Europe, in particular Eastern Europe. National Socialism was a popular ideology in Germany. Hitler was voted into power.
@@unwichtig1048 from 1932 onwards the NSDAP was the largest party in the Reichstag. in the presidential election of 1932 he may not have gotten a majority, but he got over 13,000,000 votes when NSDAP party membership was just over 800,000. Hitler was appointed chancellor because he argued that since he had plurality in the Reichstag, he deserved a role in the Weimar government. Therefore, its safe to say that Hitler was voted in, and that his ideology and party were in fact rather popular throughout germany, especially near the end of the Weimar republic in 1933.

The thing people don’t understand is the main german army were not nazi’s they just fought for Germany
always look for and appreciate the distinction if some goes in saying he is a Nazi, he is a Nazi and his Nazi dog then yeah ur credibility is dripping away rather quickly
The Wehrmacht were full of Nazis who committed war crimes throughout Europe, in particular Eastern Europe. National Socialism was a popular ideology in Germany. Hitler was voted into power.
@@aerozeppelin6892 Not really. Hitler got assigned by Paul von Hindenburg. He was never elected. And the NSDAP wasn't even the biggest party.
“They’re not Nazis; they just fight for Nazis.”
narrator:
they were nazis

Some people died not knowing that ironic thing happened in ww2
RIP
Man I fuckin love your channel. That intro alone is easily worth a sub
You didn't mention the best part: An SS officer was one of the defenders of the castle. Imagine having to kill your coworkers just to quit your job.
Knightwolf1994 Are you sure there was an ss officer?
I already knew about this story, and damn, I love it!
6:19 I'd imagine if Ireland was involved in ww2 then thats how every request for backup would be
As someone who loves history and comedy ,this was one of the most entertaining videos ever !!!!
This is by far one of the most interesting stories I have ever heard. And gosh damn do I love the humor you sprinkle in these videos. Shit, I'd sub like 5 more times if I could.

1:25 Hey, Dachau! My grand grand granddad was an officer there.
Maybe I should not be so... enthusiastic about that.
you're a great storyteller, deserve a subscribe
The Wehrmacht and the S.S. hated each other. This battle was a manifestation of that.
@@wilhelm2462 or y'know, regular recruits of Germany dont want to fight heavy battles, and avoid them as the plague
Have seen this story before from other sources, but love the way you tell it.
I really want you to talk about the Rooftop Korean's incident during LA riots
Great work on the Sherman tank profiles! Wizard stuff!
2:59 ah yes the HoI4 generic general.
I love how you straight seamlessly plugged the like and sub at the end.
6:08 Gangl was actually the only one who died. He got in the line of fire of a sniper as he puched one of the french VIPs away.
You really deserve more views your video's are hilarious and very interesting
I'd love to see this story explored in a video game. But I'm sure "video game journalists" would be up in arms about friendly Nazi soldiers existing in any regard.
Whoops, nope. Definitely not Nazi twin sisters.
My bad.
No one should tell them about Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
This story is legitimately the craziest battle a heard from WW2.
It’s a shame that my history teacher never talked about this
Yeah, no way events like these can be covered in a 5th grade history class if you want to have time for all other subjects
TheCamps10 I was referring to my 12th grade history class kid
@@Xenobane oh, so you can study history only and do away with the rest of the subjects by 12th grade, or the point still stands?
