    Click bait title. You never mention in your video which are the best brockerages

    • @thetomcrosshill
      @thetomcrosshill  ปีที่แล้ว +27

      Hi! The answer is that the best brokerages depend on where you live and what your goals are - I show you the process by which you can choose it. Sorry if it seems clickbaity - the thing is, I get annoyed by videos with "best brokerage" titles which give bad advice by pushing a few brokerages with affiliate links (so the reviewer gets a cut no matter if the brokerage is actually suitable for the person). I wanted to provide a more detailed answer for people!

    Interactive Brokers is pretty good for me so far, but they require you to open a margin account (which requires you to meet minimum criteria) in order to purchase certain instruments, eg mutual funds
    They could also be a bit less technically complex

    • @thetomcrosshill
      @thetomcrosshill  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      IB can be quite technically complex, yes - it can be hard even to find a specific ETF, which is theoretically a simple thing to do.
      I've been able to buy mutual funds through them without a margin account, though - that doesn't seem quite right.

    Keep making one of these every week with a variation on the title, e.g.
    Best brokerage (not eToro)
    Best brokerage (not Freedom24)
    Best brokerage (not Trading212)
    Best brokerage (not interactive brokers)
    Lol
    Jokes aside good video. I use Interactive Brokers.

    • @thetomcrosshill
      @thetomcrosshill  ปีที่แล้ว

      It has many good features (low costs, good UX, good reputation) and some drawbacks (fast-growing Fintech, not yet a major financially strong company, not available in many countries). At the end of the day, you have to decide if a broker matches your personal needs / preferences, which is a very individual decision.

    Hey youve helped me a lot. But i have a question one some of the etf's it doesn't say dist or acc. So i have nu idea wether it is accumulative or distributing. And i have no cleu if it can be neither.
    However on just etf for the same ETF it does say Acc so i dont know anymore.
    I think i formulated the question really weird but ok.

    • @thetomcrosshill
      @thetomcrosshill  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Always use the ISIN code to uniquely identify the ETF. If you look up the ETF by ISIN and find it on the fund provider's website, it will always say if it is accumulating ("capitalizing") or distributing.

      @@thetomcrosshill its actually not that hard if you have the time. the issue with Gr is that there is alot of gray areas especially if you make a company where you really need an expect with regional knowledge that can assist you make the best decision possible. The key from the little i know at the moment is to make a company then under it combine smaller ones and divide their income in a certain way where there is huge tax reliefs. You can use the company as an entity therefore even if you get bankrupt they cant do anything to you.

    Hi Tom, thank you for your great work! Could you do a video how often its good to review the portfolio and how many ETFs its good to choose for the long term investments (10-20 years)? Since it seems that they are many good ones but to invest into too many doesnt seem to have much sense.

    I live in the Netherlands, which brokerage would you recommend? I am mainly interested in investing in the Vanguard FTSE All-World ETF (ACC). ACC because I believe ACC is better for tax purposes in the Netherlands. In most of you videos you recommend interactive brokers but you mention that they are more complicated for beginners. Therefore, which one would you recommend? Scalable, trade republic, interactive brokers?

    • @thetomcrosshill
      @thetomcrosshill  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In the Netherlands from what I know both local and foreign brokerages are popular. IB is a bit complicated but cheap. DEGIRO is actually originally from the Netherlands so they should be well adjusted to the local market - perhaps something to consider. As to ACC vs DIST, I can't give individual tax advice, but from what I know about Netherlands "box 3" tax, I don't see a big difference between accumulating and distributing (and in fact Netherlands-based "fiscale beleggingsinstelling" distributing funds may have some tax advantages).

    • @RichardRietdijk
