thanks alot! I have a sagging headlight and im trying to open the headlight to repair it (I don't want to do the "screw mod"). Did you tried this before or have any tips in general?
You're very welcome. I have rebuilt around 100 pairs of S-type lights in my time. Heat the outside of the lights and pull the lens off. I use a headlight oven at 95C. You can use a hot air gun if you prefer but be careful not to melt the plastic. From there, replace the adjusters and reseal with heat.
This can happen occasionally if the igniter locks awkwardly on the bulb. The only advice Incan give in those cases is to try to ease it back and forth gently until it gives and twists off. There is a mechanism inside the igniter which rotates to lift a tooth and prevent the wiring being plugged in without the bulb locked in position and it is this mechanism which can prevent the igniter turning.
Hello I have got as far as replacing the actual zenon bulb I am having trouble getting the igniter back, does it only fit one way or can it be fitted in any way please
The ignitor will fit in any orientation however some are extremely tight. I have found, on occasion, that it has taken pliers to apply the necessary torque to lock them.
Thumb up! By the way, an S-type low beam cap looks like a high beam one of an X-type.
Yes they are the same 👍👍
Hi if i want to change my halogen ones to xenon OEM ones they will just plug and fit?
thanks alot!
