Restoration of 1950 Vintage Asian pen stand wood & gold painted.
This is a vintage Asian pen stand with wood and gold finish, handmade in Asia in the 1950s. Currently, this pen base is very old and rotten. The wooden parts of this pen base have been worn to such an extent that some parts are missing and the star-shaped parts that can be seen in the four circles around it are painted with gold coating.

Der Stifthalter scheint aus Persien, dem heutigen Iran, zu kommen. Die Malerei ist typisch und auch das Mikromosaik am Rand kennt man von dort und aus Ländern am Mittelmeer. Die Zeit, Ende 50er bis 60er Jahre könnte hinkommen. Da hat sich Persien unter Shah Reza Pahlevi dem Westen geöffnet und die Halterungen für die Stifte könnten aus Euro importiert und mit der Platte im Iran verbunden worden sein.
