Thank you. I have made some improvements since this video particularly on the arwing, but other improvements will have to wait to be shown off. There are some pretty game breaking texture issues with citra canary as it currently is.
That looks freaking fantasticly incredible! Really good job, it looks and sound like a legit Nintendo remake! Except for the fact that we'll probably never get one from them. And for the music, if you didn't get any response from the creators yet, maybe try to ask The Noble Demon to remix the music, he already made some for rom hacks before.
I'm glad you like it. I highly recommend you check out the video I made for sector Y if you want to see the most recent textures for the arwing. Hand painted I might add. As for the music for other levels I did get permission from Nick from the WSADhelios channel for using his Zoness and main menu theme. As for everyone else, I just have to work up the courage to message them ^^;
@@MaddiAddiGaming Oh it looks even really good, for the music, glad you got the permissions! And ye it can be really complicated to send messages sometimes, personally I'd just try to think about the writing, but not think about the sending part, and just press ctrl+enter on my keyboard without thinking (or at least try), or asking a friend to tell me a word like "orange" that I convince myself will order me to do an action. (Maybe those are weird techniques, but there's a little tiny slight chance it might help, so, yeah x) )
I started playing starfox again after a long time, star fox 64 is without a doubt my favorite, and seeing this is glorious, I hope one day I can be able to play this, because this is a peace of art
Somebody should make Star Fox Zero styled renders of 64 3D's designs for the comms. Fox and Falco have their Command designs in Zero, which doesn't match the intro of 64 3D. Slippy's hat is also different, but that can just be retextured for the intro.
Personally zero had my favourite and most consistent across the team designs. 64 3D always felt like a missed opportunity for me. I will be sure if I release the pack to have all the comm portraits grouped up so people can delete the ones they don't want, or swap them out for something else though.
this looks amazing! the texture work is fantastic! okay gotta ask, the bottom screen portion, did you do in post or is that in game?? like where the comunication and text is side by side like that, and secondly how would someone like me go about making my rom of starfox 64 3D look this good? is there a link to download the textures??
The bottom screen was done with clever positioning of capture elements in OBS. Since I have four monitors I could use the side by side display mode in citra for higher resolution bottom and top screens. I just had to lay them out properly in the capture and preview windows. I wish there was a way to negate the bottom screen entirely, but that's beyond the scope of my abilities. The textures are a combination of my own custom replacements, and AI upscaling. There are a lot of problems with my custom arwing textures though, I will have to go back and re-do it at some point. Currently there is no link, as this mod is more than just the textures. It is also the uncompressed original voice files, and music, for which I haven't had the opportunity to get permission from all the artists I've borrowed from yet. I am still actively working on this here and there. The biggest obstacle is that the citra emulator itself makes things difficult what with all the graphical and performance issues even on a computer that should be more than capable of handling it. This prevents me from being able to properly remaster levels like Aquas, Solar, the warps, and andross fights since the screen flips upside down, making it difficult to test updated textures.
Uncompressed recordings were found in one of the famous nintendo giga leaks. The original mod itself was done by sebastian called the star fox 64 3d audio restoration mod. That version includes these voice clips as well as versions of the music using uncompressed instrument samples from the same giga leak
No, those are problems based in the emulator and I am very smooth brained when it comes to code, so I can't debug it. I know many talented code monkeys have tried to figure out what causes it, but I think it's a problem deeply rooted in the emulator's rendering engine.
@@MaddiAddiGamingJust wondering, did that Leak have just the English Voices or did it also have the Uncompressed Japanese Voices? I’d like to see a Mod that’s the Japanese Voices from the Original on Star Fox 3D, regardless if they’re Compressed or not, it’s something I’d love to see

They are, unfortunately. I was hoping that maybe if I worked hard enough on this, and got the word out more people with coding experience would help the citra team debug the emulator to fix it. Sadly I'm useless when it comes to code.
@@beardalaxy From what I understand the problem is very deeply rooted within the emulator. Of course the following is completely speculation, but I think it has something to do with the way citra emulates certain shaders and effects. You can really see it when seemingly unrelated effects in the game are all broken in similar fashions. IE the water reflection in corneria is actually being rendered upside down. real time shadows are rendered at the incorrect distance to the ground plane. light seems to 'snap' over geometry rather than smoothly pass over it from camera angle to camera angle. IMO the reason it hasn't been fixed, is that it would likely require an extensive re-write of the shader system, meaning it would break compatibility with other games, or require a more intensive HLE shader implementation option much like the HLE audio fix they used for pokemon X and Y.
They are. There are going to be 3 sets of textures for controller inputs that you can change out depending on your controller of choice. IE; Dualshock 4, Xbox one/360, and switch pro controller layouts.
And you are welcome to that opinion. I entirely disagree, but the beuty of this mod will be that you have the option of not installing the music aspects of it and using the stock uncompressed audio mod by Sebastian.
This would actually make a perfect reboot.
