- First time growing these Sahara Rudbeckia from seed. They are absolutely gorgeous and quite the performer! Second only to the Cactus Chrysanthemum Zinnia I’m growing. Soft, muted colors, nearly edible beauty, and ease of growing make these silver medal winners in my book!

I want those! I've tried rudbeckia from seed and haven't had very much luck but I'm gonna try the Sahara variety 😄

They really are a special bunch! Grasshoppers are one pest that I've yet to deal with. Is that an issue for you?
Those are gorgeous! I have seeds I bought last year but didn't grow them. This is making think I really need to grow them this year. Did you start the seeds indoors?
Thanks so much! I did start the seeds indoors. They germinated easily without any issues. I ended up planting out 3 or 4 4" plants, so you can get an idea of their spread. This area is full sun, and leans on the dryer side. Hope that helps! Happy Gardening!
