Apparently Ork loyalty is heavily dependent on whose banner is overhead. So if we created Aquila WAAGH banners and covertly replaced an entire Ork horde's existing banners with them, would they spontaneously start serving the Emperor?
Well probably not, since Da Orkz would never follow anyone who isn't properly green-skinned, banna or not. Though if we can convince them that the Emperor IS green-skinned, and since things happen if enough Orks believe so...

This video makes it sound like the Burnaboyz shoota-boy accidentally set the Big Banner on fire and that Gorgutz was standing right behind the shoota-boy and tank-busta,
My guess for how each ork clan offers: Head Crushaz: Makes up the basic troops of the orks-Axe wielders and shuuta boyz. Foot Stumpaz: The farmers of the orks. Herds and grows the best squigs including the squiggoth. Burnaboyz: Provides fuel and flammable weapons. Moor of Gork: The sacred grounds of the wild orks. Rokkitrangaz: Produces and provides the majority of ork weaponry including explosives. Kwikmekz: The mechanics of the orks. But after that just sent 3 Ballistics to shoot 1 banner and watch them do the rest. Eldar and Tau are super easy, Seer council nearly invincible, fire prism can jump in, one shot the banner and jump out. With Tau Kotox and Kroot hound don't need to shoot the banner.
@Demiclea Dude if you want a harder experience on dark crusade install titanium wars mod, it adds WAY much op stuff but for everyone Titans, giant suits, stompas, way more op monoliths, heavy grav tanks etc etc, oh and more "weak" units in general
The funniest thing is, you would expect this just to be a silly videogame mechanic, but in the case of orks it's just the way they are. Don't touch the warboss' banner.
Think of a Big Banner as advertising for Warbosses-listing their victories, extolling boasts of their abilities, taunting enemies and/or potential rivals of the kicking they would get if they fancied having a go and providing a display of the heads of those defeated by the Warboss in combat-with anything big and nasty or Space Marine shaped being particularly prized. Losing said banner is a sign of weakness in the eyes of other Orks, and that sort of thing results in infighting as a massive squabble breaks out over who is strong enough to lead the warband.
