I got the time flies guitar tab book that shows the tabs for this song. The reason it's played with a capo on the 2nd fret is because the B string is tuned down to A and the chords are a bit different. For example the chorus is G#m7, Gmaj7, Esus2, B5 (with capo F#m7, Fmaj7, Dsus2, A5) and the top two strings are played open throughout the chorus and the bottom E string is not used. It really makes it stand out and it sounds exactly like the track. Definitely worth looking at. I haven't been able to find any tutorials on youtube for this song that are correct as yet. Anyway keep up the good work, your channel is great! I'm learning a lot from your videos, you've been a massive help! Thanks

I love Oasis' seventh and last studio album Dig Out Your Soul, which this is from. I only discovered it last summer having lost interest in Oasis after Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants. The opening track, Bag It Up, is a stormer. Somebody told me last summer that Oasis should never have recorded Dig Out Your Soul. I couldn't disagree more. It's got a charm all of it's own. It's far more groove orientated, as Noel didn't have so much to write about any longer, and it's got contributions from other band members. I love it and had to get it on vinyl too. Nowadays, I love all of Oasis' albums, having getting back into them a couple of years ago. The Shock Of The Lightning is an interesting and good choice Ant.
I'm looking forward to There She Goes. The way I learnt a while back it has good a bit of a difficult pinky stretch in the opening guitar motif, especially on acoustic. It will be great to see Ant's take on it.

Yeah I just said to someone else, Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants is a sore subject for a lot of people, and where a lot of people dropped off the pace ..I quite like "Where Did It All Go Wrong?" and "I Can See A Liar" if you ever find yourself begrudgingly going through that one again haha. Yeah Bag It Up what a reference, straight up up rock n roll definitely, and it's interesting you say that about the groove "Aint Got Nothin" "Shock Of The Lightning" and "The Falling" are all about the drums! Interesting point in the bands life really. Yeah There She Goes will be a really nice one after just having done Suede, nightmare stretch at that 3rd fret, there's not many songs you can say are just 'nice' and much like "Waterloo Sunset" by the Kinks this song is just the nicest.
Anyway enjoy the rest of your Weekend Steve, I'm off to the pub ..could be sore in the morning!

@@AnthonyFernsGuitarTutorials Although I wasn't a massive fan of Standing On The Should Of Giants at the time, I enjoy it now along with the other later Oasis albums too. It's interesting that although original members Guigsy and Bonehead had been replaced by Andy Bell and Gem Archer, who were far more competent musicians, that didn't necessarily make for a better album. Likewise, Tony McCarroll, who was kicked out for not being a good enough drummer, played on their best selling album and that cultural icon of the 90s, What's The Story.
The biggest lowpoint on Standing On The Shoulder is Liam's first outing as a songwriter, Little James. It is probably one of the worst songs ever written. Fair play, his song writing skills got better, eg Songbird. I suppose even the Beatles released Oh-Bla-Di Oh-Bla-Di and Yellow Submarine.
I hope your head's not too sore after last night Ant. I'll be onto my pinky stretching exercises for your next tutorial.

Arguably one of my favorite songs off of DOYS. Could you take a swing at “The Turning” also? A lot of people say that song is similar to “Lyla”.
