It is a very lengthy job, I am hoping someone will watch this video when about to do one and will really help them, I tried looking up videos and there are not any that show you what I did.
Almost sounds easier to just pull the motor. I’m just shooting in the dark with my guess but either way it’s still a lot of work to gain access. Once I had mine apart, I realized it was the plate not the seal was the reason for the leak. Thanks for sharing this alternate approach because it’s definitely easier than removing all parts individually.
In my case It was the seal and the plate. Always replace the plate and seal when you are doing this job. Thank you for watching the video. I appreciate it
Pulling the engine on a C5 and later corvette is very difficult. The car will tip off the lift when the engine is not in the car so you have to support the car and then either drop the entire front subframe down or drop the subframe down somewhat to lift the engine out the top. I just did one last week.
I went with the automatic because I knew that the clutch would have to be replaced at some point. When would depend on how hard the previous driver was on it. With rear seals and oil pan leaks, I’m sure it will happen to mine someday. I hope it Doesn’t need it for a long time.
Great video. Thanks for taking the time to record!! Appreciate it.
You are very welcome. Thank you for watching I appreciate it and the feedback.
Great video, thx!
@@captainsoftheazulcarrib7491 thank you

The motor will come through the top
I would just rather pull the motor
Wow that is a whole lot easier than I thought it would be. You defiantly make it look easy. Hope to catch you on your next live stream!
Thx brotha, that was the easy condensed version. Was not that easy for me. But next time will be allot quicker.

This is a ton of work and would be very hard to do in the drive way. It could be done but would be very difficult. Thank you for watching.
Corvette Forum says this is an eight hour job... how much time is saved by your method?
I actually am not sure, It was quite a while ago. Sorry I cannot help you. Thank you for watching.
WOULDN'T IT BE EASIER TO JUST REMOVE THE ENGINE, AND GIVE IT AN OVERHAUL WHILE IT IS OUT?
Possibly. Thanks for watching
Where are you located? i need to replace crankshaft seal and main rear seal can any one help with it i live in Monterey California.
I am in Sacramento. You should be able to get most shops to do this job. Thank you for watching.
How much was this labor $$?
Oh man I have no idea, I do not see dollar amounts at all and it was quite a while ago.
I think I would rather pull the motor out the top and do what I want with it, instead of dropping all that other stuff
There is nothing wrong with that
That's way too much extra, next time just pull the motor and try it that way,
