Why so angry.. 😂 mate check out some of my other videos! I love this drone! Without it I would never of got into fpv. Don’t take everything so serious 😅
@Amy Creighton On I'm not "angry" but I do take misinformation seriously. You have people in your comments that have been convinced to not buy this drone because of your statements. If you had watched this video before buying the DJI FPV, would you have still purchased it? Probably not. You say you love it but you're convincing others to avoid it and possibly FPV. This is a common issue in automotive electronics. But manufacturers of electronics for the domestic market do not need to meet tight EMC limits, especially not at high frequencies as the 1.6 GHz for GPS, GLONASS, Galileo etc.. Obviously, the processing inside the GoPro while recording should not be near to any GNSS antennas. Shame.
@@londenard Correct. But microwave interferences travel some lengths. Probably no one noticed this issue in the FPV community cause almost no freestyle quad uses GPS.
@@SpeedsterIG True... It's interesting because just by relocating the camera mount an inch or so, this problem seems to be relieved. I know several people that have flown with GoPros on a DJI FPV Drone.
For 40 euros you can install the drone-hacks firmware which will disable nfz and altitude limits. I flew regular FPV drones before I got the DJI FPV used for a good deal. I like it for less aggressive flying to wind down after a session and exploring at a distance over sketchy terrain. Betaflight gps rescue works pretty well, but I have even more confidence in DJI RTH. 8/10 would buy again used. So many camera drone pilots bought them and decided it wasn't their thing after a few flights or crashed them and are selling the newly refreshed replacement.
THIS! I just bought the fpv combo 2nd hand for 700 euros, then searched the second hand market for extra batteries and ended up with 3 more dji fpvs with batteries and both controllers for just under 1500
I love, LOVE, this drone. I use it to patrol avocado plantations. Does the job well. It´s the battery endurance that ruins the experience. 7 minutes flight time on all 6 batts I own. DJI should sell us a better batt and keep this wonderful aircraft in their flight line.
Just started flying mine again and it's enjoyable. There's a cinelike mode and other youtube videos that show how to improve image. Don't believe there's raw, so that can be a deal breaker, if you're thinking about getting one.
For those that don’t own a drone yet, please be aware that the geofencing feature is there to protect you and other aircrafts and it will most likely spare you a lot of money if it saves you from being caught flying illegally. Just know your local flying laws to be safe.
@keramafpv That’s true, also I don’t think people realize how unforgiving drone laws are, I mean there’s never going to be a life sentence, but it can be quite pricey. Even for an illegal take off.
As with you, there is a special place for me as well because this got me all in with FPV. I might not have stuck with it if I started with a traditional 5” drone. This one is what originally got me addicted to flying. The training wheels is amazing for beginners like the brake button and return to home. I also like the camera control where you can pitch the camera down so I still use it for scouting. But now that I’m flying full acro with traditional FPV drones, your right, this flys like a potato. But it sure sounds mean when it is powered on, lol.
I've had the DJI FPV for 2 years now and it's a great drone. Some tend to give it bad feed back and I feel it's mostly cause people try to make it something it's not. To me it's like a Mavic with FPV capabilities. But just because it has FPV capabilities allowing it to freestyle, that doesn't mean it should be used as such. It's like if you can play basketball, that doesn't make you NBA material. I get the most enjoyment out of my FPV just cruising and doing cinematics, tossing in some aerial manuvers. All of the featues that people call training wheels are just a plus honestly.
I really wanted to own this drone. What kept me from it was the fact that if you crashed it, it will sooner than later be catastrophic. Looks like an amazing drone to fly otherwise.
It is a pretty good drone, the video quality requires you don't want to colour grade it, because most people don't know how to colour grade properly with a low dynamic range. It's actually very usable and I've never crashed it once, you just don't crash this drone for obvious reasons. It's a workhorse though, very reliable.
If I found one cheap enough, I would definitely add it to my fleet. I like the forgivingness of my other drones, but I like the peace of mind DJI safety features provide me on my DJI drones. I've seen these things explode into tiny pieces from a decent distance drop I'm assuming because of the plastic frame and weight. I assume it will be hard to get replacement parts (oem or aftermarket) sooner than later too if they do discontinue it.
@@loosescrews377 There are other units around now that use the o3 system that are a much better purchase, some of them even have return to home on signal loss. The Flywoo explorer sacrifices some punch for long flight times and has return to home. I'm looking for o3 bnf drones that have return to home on signal loss and punch, they should be around.
I had one and not being able to use the gyro data to stabilize was a dealbraker. But as a long range drone it's quite good. Battery lasts forever and has amazing range.. BUT.. camera is potato and 1 axis gimbal is not up to the standard. Can't wait for them to release a new version of it :)
DJI are the only drone i trust to fly above water and i love this drone ! I hope they get a new update coming soon with the same camera of the DJI action4 DJI save my trip 😉
thanks to you amy , we don't have a Fpv 2 . this is not a potato is is a ariel masterpiece. the camera on this drone is awesome, if you have to put a gopro on top then just get a mavic. now i had enough amy , don't make anymore video hating on DJI ! consider yourself lucky that im in a good mood tonight .
All drones should come with stability mode. The lack of is what’s holding this hobby back in my opinion. DJI FPV is a very good drone to start off with. So what if it does not do everything. You can become a very good flyer without all the frustration that comes with a traditional.
Camera isn't shit. It's decent depends on how you use it. Skills needed not for traditional DJI operators. I have this and love it not to mention it's not bound to the app or your phone. Therefore in future if DJI decides to shut it down I can still fly it without upgrading software
I crashed it recently flying with 100km/h or more straight into rocks at the ground.. With the additional arm bracers from dji, an alloy bumper for the gimbal and a GoPro on the top. It destroyed the back cover, also wrecking the fan and the gps modules plus some things below that... BUT no arms snapped off, only a crack in one of them, the gimbal and camera were totally fine and the craziest thing.. The GoPro 11 Mini didn't survive (luckily rented) which I thought couldn't be harmed by anything. I did send it to DJI for repair and for just 100€, including shipping, they "repaired" it for me. In fact they returned a completly new drone with another serial number. No I don't have DJI Care Refresh :) Besides this major incident the drone has had 4 other smaller crashed in trees or into a field which it survived perfectly fine :) So nope not a potato, more a flying Nokia :D
Hey Amy, I noticed in that clip you had the crystal iflight patch antenna on your goggles, Can you confirm that they work with this drone ? I wanted to use them but I have heard they don’t work with the goggles v2 and FPV since it’s dual band and the iflight crystal is 5.8 only thanks in advance
So is the Avata better in every single way? I just crashed my Avata in a very deep drain (I think beyond repair, still awaiting DJI's verdict), and was considering getting the FPV as a replacement. I do have a goggles 2 tho... if that's not gonna work with the FPV I think it's an open shut case.
If you don't like this drone, you can donate it to someone who needs a drone, for example I had a drone, I raised money for a year and a half to buy and build it and it was stolen by two boys and since then I haven't had it again allowed to buy another drone, I would be even happier with this drone if I had it
Sounds like this drone isn't for you. It's very particular when it comes to fine Turing it and I suggest you take your time with it. The dji fpv drone wasn't supported because the bandwidth and transmission speed that is given through the 4 antennas on the first headset can't be achieved in a reliable way with the avata headset. That's all. The dropped the ball and yeah it doesn't make sense but that's just how it is.
This drone is sick and not for beginners thats why , it has alot of mass so you cant dive the same way you have to start applying alot more power alot sooner , ive seen lots of crash videos mostly pilot error... if you crash any aircraft 1x its also breaks btw
I think that's because it was aimed at beginner fpv pilots They might add support in the future (i know it's been a while but it's dji) The best flight characteristics for an fpv drone too
Has anyone confirmed that the goggles 2 work with the mini 3 pro? If they do, I'll be upgrading from my goggles v2 which I currently use for both the FPV and the Avata.
I don't disagree (re: camera quality) - that being said: the GOPRO flies, like, not at all - unless you throw it. So... cameras that fly and drones that shoot video - are compromises - by their very nature. Could there be a BETTER camera? Yup. Is the best drone camera (non-commercial) better than my new Canon? Nope. But I wouldn't want my Canon to try and fly either.
I feel like it's unreasonable to get mad at the geofencing and EM interference. The GoPro situation you did, not them. That's on the GoPro, get mad at them. As for the geofencing, they're the largest drone creator and they're Chinese, they're a huge target for targeted government regulation & legislation. They're obligated to some degree to do this to make sure somebody doesn't fly into the white house with one or some shit. Every drone enthusiast on YT bitches about the geofencing, but given who they are they really don't have a choice in the matter. And given that the primary user base is mostly casuals, it makes a lot of sense. I don't like being bound by the geofencing but I've also never had it limit me in an area where it was legal to fly. Every time it limits me it's not legal to fly where I'd want to, and for casuals who likely aren't going to do their due-diligence, that's a good thing. I feel typically it's a matter of people not wanting to follow laws more than the geofencing is "wrong" per-se. The camera and the construction are the big ones, it sounds like. And I've also heard it's a bit heavier than others in terms of feeling. I feel like when you compare it to others you have to also compare the ease of use, because for the targeted audience that's a major factor. And from what I understand it's by-far the best in that regard. I kinda want to get one of these, but wish they'd support the new goggles (but they won't). This thing sounds EOL'd, but if they come out with a V2 then it'll probably be 1500+ and that sucks.
11 Months later... Has any of the firmware updates helped with some of the issues mentioned and do you foresee a newer version of the drone arriving anytime soon? Im planning on pulling the trigger on one soon but keep hearing rumblings of a new FPV but nothing solid just a few renderings of what people claim is a DJI leak image. I plan on using the HERO 11 Mini as my main camera but the GPS block is something I never heard of till now which is kind of a bummer. I have had 3 DJI drones, never an FPV but just curious if I should or wait. Thanks!
that is awesome drone and they will not make it that good ever again. so grab it while you can. every other drone will be limited to 0.5 mile range so you'll be easily spotted when needed.
Well, I just bought one. It's my first drone, and I got a pretty good deal for the full kit (goggles drone and controller) in Tokyo. I'm not a professional photographer, and I wanted something fun. I *think* I'll still get my money's worth. But this is some helpful info, and I have a Hero 8 somewhere too.
You will love it if this is your first FPV drone! You made the right choice! I am trying so different mounts for the GoPro to hopefully improve the gps signal!
@@amycreighton oh brilliant. Yeah I might even hack this thing for a bit more freedom of use to avoid the geofencing for when I go back to Canada. Either way I'm a hardware guy and this stuff is so much FUN.

Weirdly I couldn’t see much difference between the fpv and GoPro me that will be the same for the majority of people who may view any footage you were to upload.
I mean the hero 9 looks like an cartoon or an anime but this is real life so thats what the drone gives, you can’t change how the world looks this is reality it’s not all about looks or social media and I’m not a hater I love you videos but I’m just saying
What is the new goggles the Googles 2 or Goggles V2? You said Goggles 2 but it looks like the V2 is the newest and this video was barely posted 3 weeks ago.
I found your video rather offensive because your video was incorrect and very misleading. This thing is by no means a "potato" as you put it. Yes it's rather fragile compared to other fiberglass cinstructed quads, but, come on now. The camera is not that bad either especially if you use filters. Yes it is pretty bad in low light, but so is a GoPro.
Lol I wasn’t the one who coined the phrase potato. I am just making a video on what the majority of the fpv community called this drone… if you watch the video all the way through you would see I love this drone! It’s the drone that got me into fpv!
@@amycreighton Yeah, I see that Amy, but when you said that you loved this drone after saying so many disparaging things about it, you pretty much contradicted yourself. I have watched a bunch of your videos in the past and I had nothing negative to say about them. I enjoyed watching them. It is what it is, people who have owned this drone really love it. Look at all the comments... 95% of them were defending it.
Wow - I watch that video 16h after purchased that FPV drone :D:D:D , according to the comments new googles are now supported. Anyway - to the point , I bought this dron second hand with rc 2 and google V2 , for 370 POUNDS , as a first FPV - I bought additional battery and dron will go with me for my holiday - I'm not worried about camera , I'm not a filmaker, photographer - let's see - currently I'm exited and for me looks pro , hopefully will not smash so quick , but 2nd hand market is getting cheap with this particular model due to size etc
I agree, the geo fencing is not a big problem for me, Yes it is fragile but it also has an emergency stop and autopilot so I would say that it has less ability to crash than a standard fpv, I'm tired of people talking so much trash about this drone while it works so well for what it does, its super easy to fly and learn on, the camera and goggles look excellent for the average person, stop trashing on it. its a great product especially with the recent price drops and second hand market deals. You just come off super snobby. Its more that they are replacing this model with the Avata.
Dji has goggle support for the phantom and if I'm not mistaken the mavic pro. No goggle support for my Air2s though, arguably one of DJIs most successful drones. Stupid. 😑 They should allow all drones to use goggles.
WOW!! That was rough... I fly the crap out of mine. Ease up. Damn thing is amazing. For what it costs and what it can do? One minute your a person....the next you're a bird. I'm not sure how you can hate that. If it's that annoying....do something else.
I'm confused. You complain about how it flies when you put extra and unbalanced weight on top of it. No GPS when using the GoPro but do have GPS when not using the GoPro sounds like maybe you're blocking the or onterfering with the GPS BECAUSE of the GoPro? If you fly and crash, youre gonna break it and it's expensive......thats pretty much all drones unless you are building your own. Just so many rebuttals with these points made. Mine? Works fine. Love it. Quit buying parts from DJI and source elsewhere and you will find them much more cost efficient.

TRUST ME, this drone is a freaking (FAST💨 🥔 ).. buy buy buy!!!
Like willydewit said I love it and have two. I have many vids (you can judge from that on cam and flight quail) doing chases. I know it's not perfect and I have other drones to fill in the gaps. But I have the lest problems with this one. I have crashed twice and yes broke it. That being said I do feel your right that it doesn't look good for the future of this drone. DJI is like that. Doing chases at 80mph and up I fly it at it's limits for speed and it pushes. I've even gotten it up over 95. I've been with DJI for awhile so I've come to trems with the word DISCONTINUED.... LOL
a gopro is almost the same price as the drone itself, bashing the camera is an invalid point. You seem all disappointed about this done, why the fck are you flying it? just go for a full akro or you just don't have the skill for it?
Is a fpv drone, if you want good video get a cinematic drone, is like want to get profesional video recording with a cell phone instead a professional camera I havent never seen a potato flying Its a FPV drone fpv mean crashes thats the second fun thing about this hobbie, take it apart and put it back together i love to solder

Well said! Yeah it’s scary when it powers up!
Absolute agree! Love this drone!
I really wanted to own this drone. What kept me from it was the fact that if you crashed it, it will sooner than later be catastrophic. Looks like an amazing drone to fly otherwise.
Yep! It is an amazing drone, just needs refinement
The only part that I don’t like is that if your gonna crash it the arms and legs will break
Yessss!
Traditional FPV drones don't hover by themselves, don't return to home in case of no rc/video signal, which means they crash. DJI returns!
Camera isn't shit. It's decent depends on how you use it. Skills needed not for traditional DJI operators. I have this and love it not to mention it's not bound to the app or your phone. Therefore in future if DJI decides to shut it down I can still fly it without upgrading software
Depends if you like to colour grade your footage heavily or not.
Desde hace tiempo dejé de hacer caso a las malas críticas, simplemente si algo me gusta y me da felicidad lo compro y el resto que diga lo que quiera.
it was abandoned almost immediately after it came out. Expect a hybrid fpv/gimbal camera drone
potatoe is your h**d.
I just bought me 1.
arrives feb18.
It is a champ
So is the Avata better in every single way? I just crashed my Avata in a very deep drain (I think beyond repair, still awaiting DJI's verdict), and was considering getting the FPV as a replacement. I do have a goggles 2 tho... if that's not gonna work with the FPV I think it's an open shut case.
Mines ace, love every minute of flying it.
Love my dji FPV
I guess if it bridged a gap it did its job, but for less $$ a nice 7in has so much more to offer. Each to their own 😀
I think that's because it was aimed at beginner fpv pilots They might add support in the future (i know it's been a while but it's dji) The best flight characteristics for an fpv drone too
Beginners crash alot, and this drone is very frail.
@@jaybomb5022 this drone is a tank u can fly at s mode at a wall and nothing happens i just saw it in a vid wehre they tested it
@Cutecats I actually own 2 of them. He got really lucky I assure you.
It is also my gateway drug into FPV!
😝
Thanks!
Never update ur dji fpv drone! Hack it n fly to the max capabilites.
that is awesome drone and they will not make it that good ever again.
so grab it while you can.
every other drone will be limited to 0.5 mile range so you'll be easily spotted when needed.
You are obsessed with potatoes or what?
I just brought one. Had a handful of flights and it’s great fun. 👍
Wow, I just brought the DJI FPV & with all due respect I have to disagree with everything you stated. Sorry folks but I’m sold!
You didn’t watch the entire video.. I love this drone 😜
Battery really sucks and I hate there limited flying heights when airplanes are like another 1000 feet up I hate there googles not enough options to turn off those stupid waring signs that pop up for no reasons I need DJI fpv 2 45 minutes flight
Wind is real. Looking forward to Avata2 but keeping my potatoes.
I own 4 dji drones and this one by far is my favorite
So potato’s hold a special place in your heart??
Absolutely
Just a few months ago you recommended DJI FPV as the perfect beginners drone.😆
And I still believe that 💯 I love this drone! It’s got a special place in my heart 💜
@@amycreighton Never fall in love with your drone. You are going to destroy it!
😂😂😂
Clickbait title. Speculation.
Surprised you didnt mention anything about remote ID compliance that this drone is still yet to come out with an update to support it.
You know what they say about opinions.
Yep they are free 😅
Weirdly I couldn’t see much difference between the fpv and GoPro me that will be the same for the majority of people who may view any footage you were to upload.
I love dji fpv.. this drone fun to fly in medium range.
I love building and flying my own FPV drone, fuck the new rules. I fly wherever and whenever I want. They won't stop me 🤪
Who doesn't love potatoes?
I mean the hero 9 looks like an cartoon or an anime but this is real life so thats what the drone gives, you can’t change how the world looks this is reality it’s not all about looks or social media and I’m not a hater I love you videos but I’m just saying
What is the new goggles the Googles 2 or Goggles V2? You said Goggles 2 but it looks like the V2 is the newest and this video was barely posted 3 weeks ago.
Go Pro 9 = $300 Dollars .. I'm Not a Professional video photographer.. So I don't really need Super Crisp Video..
if your worried about videos , you should get a mavic
Oh look, DJI FPV is now compatible with Goggles 2 and Goggles Integra.
Sooooo good!!
V2 goggles are higher specd than the goggle 2, right? What’s the benefit if 2 vs the v2?
I'm confused too. Which are the better/newer goggles?
Google 2 has better screen but V2 has better range
the only part being discontinues, is the v2 goggles and the air unit.
Why doesn’t any of the onboards have color night vision option like my Wyze cam (which only cost me 20£ Quid)
Thanks for this video !
So go with the Avata?
Call it the way it is ! I watch a lot of drone content , that’s why your channel popped up.
I like your style so I subscribed.
😃
Legend thanks! 😊
Yes it is compatible now! You will love it!
Dammm how much is dji paying you. Got main 50% at offerup and i love it
This drone is revolutionary. Give me a break. It can fly 3 miles out at 80mph and return home on its own. Haters gotta hate
Love this drone
You was wrong...
Dji has goggle support for the phantom and if I'm not mistaken the mavic pro. No goggle support for my Air2s though, arguably one of DJIs most successful drones. Stupid. 😑 They should allow all drones to use goggles.
Yep I agree!
Love the thumbnail haha!😁
I love mine I don't know what ur talking about . U better learn urself to fly . I got two . One to fly and one to look at at night .
Dji Goggles 2 are now compatible to this drone since last update.
So stoked for this!
WOW!! That was rough... I fly the crap out of mine. Ease up. Damn thing is amazing. For what it costs and what it can do? One minute your a person....the next you're a bird. I'm not sure how you can hate that. If it's that annoying....do something else.
Watch the whole video… I love this drone
Googles v2 are already compatible with mini 3 pro ????
No not yet they are in the list in the firmware though so they will be adding support
Whats this new one called the "Explorer?"
Watch my other videos.. I love this drone
This drone also got me into fpv and now i still really love it.
Yep it’s pretty bloody special
I agree with most of what you said 🍻
If you want power, buy dji fpv
First to comment! I am so glad I never got this Potato. You got a new subscriber!
😂😂😂 Thanks! Glad to have you here!
it’s 2024 and they still make it
Its fixed:
Nice Video Amy! super quality and good arguments. Perfect!
Thanks so much! 😎
Im sorry, for me the footage from the dji fpv camera was better than that of the gopro.
BRUH 🤦🏻♂️ not the person you want around you, I feel negativity arround me 👀.. this one looks like she’s been paid with potato’s and she’s so angry that she didn’t mention A single positive thing about this drone … she actually the only person on TH-cam putting such negative thought into an amazing drone.. TRUST ME, this drone is a freaking (FAST💨 🥔 ).. buy buy buy!!!
You don’t get it.. I love this drone.. 😂😂😂
LOL
Do you think they are coming out with a version 2 of this drone any time soon?
I think they will soonish!! Not sure when
@@amycreighton thanks
interested in buying it, but what power money is not enough.
Two years later you come up with this kind of info about this drone????
Because it's being discontinued now....
I think they are coming with a new one this year
I hope so!!
I love my dji drone
a gopro is almost the same price as the drone itself, bashing the camera is an invalid point. You seem all disappointed about this done, why the fck are you flying it? just go for a full akro or you just don't have the skill for it?
Hardly any difference in the video quality 😅just being picky
Is a fpv drone, if you want good video get a cinematic drone, is like want to get profesional video recording with a cell phone instead a professional camera
I havent never seen a potato flying
Its a FPV drone fpv mean crashes thats the second fun thing about this hobbie, take it apart and put it back together i love to solder
