Great question. Because it was downloaded as a PNG (not SVG) from Canva, the letters will remain attached in Design Space. However if you have Canva Pro and you download your file as an SVG, when uploaded in Design Space the letters will cut out separately so you will need at Unite or Weld the word in design space.
If you’re doing print then cut - yes! If you’re doing one solid colour of HTV - yes! But if you’re doing a multicolor / multi layer file to be cut out with different colours of vinyl it would be best to download as an SVG from Canva and then you can attach your different colored layers together in design space.
Thank you so much for your great work, I really appreciate it. I want to learn how to use Canva for a long time so I can use it to make my life easier when I want to do projects with my pre k classes, and you just put me on the right track. Looking forward to learning how to be creative using Canva and Cricut machine from you.
You can definitely make designs in Canva and use them with your Cricut Joy (it’s the same process). The only thing you would not be able to do is print then cut, unless you have the Joy Xtra. What type of error message are you getting?
Thanks...I'm new to cricut this helped ALOT! One thing though...in canva it gives you the option to download a transparent background. So when it's uploaded to design space do we still need to remove the background? Does it automatically apply a white background?
Loved your video! Still have some issues... :( would love if you could help me out please! I have Canva Pro and I designed my image there, I downloaded it PNG but it uploads with bad resolution :( I tried setting it up with the maximum quality, also JPEG even SVG, but it still looks bad. Also, unrelated question... I didn't have a choice but to pay the subscription for Cricut Design Space... I reallyy feel like I don't need it because I design in Canva.. is it still possible tu use the free version? Many thanks!!
I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I’m not sure why the resolution is not working out for you - I wish I could help. No you do not need Cricut Access. You can cancel your access subscription and still use design space. You just won’t have some of their bonus features, extra fonts and images but if you are using Canva and uploading your own designs you don’t need the extras that Cricut Access offers. Personally I have both Cricut Access and Canva and use both regularly. All the best.
Thank you! Just what I was looking for!
You’re welcome! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you that was so informative. I really like your videos because they show me what to do without all the chitchat.
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Happy crafting!
This was an EXCELLENT video!! Thank you for explaining everything step by step!
You’re welcome. Happy crafting!
Excellent tutorial. Thank you.
You’re welcome!
Great information! Those letters aren't welded, are they? When you cut, won't it cut each letter at the connecting point?

Good video! I got the cricut joy and wanted to try it. But there is a error message. Do you know how to do this with a cricut joy?

If you have a Canva Pro subscription and download with a transparent background you will not need to removed the background in Design Soace.
@@littlecraftnest thank you😊
If you have Canva Pro and download transparent, Will you have to use the background remover in Design Space?
No you won’t have to.

@@littlecraftnest Thank you so much!! :)
Is canva a free app to use
Yes but there is also a paid subscription that gives you access to more tools, fonts and images.
I did it as described and once I wanted to upload it into cricut design it same out as a black quadrant 😭
Did you remove the background?
I don't have an option for simple and complex, its so pixelated
Same
Did you change it from px (pixels) to in (inches) in the beginning?
This tutorial left me so confused
What did you find confusing?
I found it very self explanatory- then again, I am familiar with Design Space. Great tutorial.
@sharon94503 Thank you. Happy crafting.
