I don't think you have high kicks unlocked since you selected Muay Thai as your base. Later on, you should be able to unlock those moves from the gym sessions. Also, you can turn on the stamina bar and damage indicator through the game options ( I think it's called Fighter HUD).
why wouldn't a muay thai fighter be able to throw high kicks though? that's definitely part of their arsenal and training...
u sure there's not a modifier? like L1 or something
@@tfwzrd The beginning moves for the Muay Thai base are knees and elbows from the clinch. I think kickboxing is the only one that has a high knee starting off.
@@stiffmidget4036 Yeah, not sure about that. I guess they wanted each style to emphasize a certain element of the game (Muay Thai focusing on the clinch mechanic).

You have to use the camps to learn new moves right now your character doesn’t have any moves besides the base ones which is why you can’t throw any head kicks
Love to see how much you're enjoying it! You need to learn kicks to the head (and other moves) during 'Camp Sessions' and selecting 'Learn new moves'. Don't lock in camps just yet, you get that opportunity later.

High kick: L1 and O or X, depending on character
Sway: Hold R1 and flick the left analog stick in the direction you want to sway
And since you doing career; the gyms allow you to learn new moves and it’ll show you how to do them there.
Great series bro, once you get a good feel for it you’ll see how superior it is to any EA UFC out now. Shits crazy
one thing i do really like about this game is the career mode its really good imo way better than any other ufc career mode
Facts. I still have this game for my ps3 and absolutely enjoy playing career mode. Probably made over 100 careers so far lol.
The fact the undisputed series had interviews after fights, weigh ins, better training, camps where actual fighters are, pride, attention to detail with everything, like signature strikes, being able to grapple someome and they can use the cage to get an advantage

Tip: If you flick the stick in any direction, your fighter will quickly dash. You could also throw a strike as you flick the stick which does an effective strike.

Watching the cpu KICK from the ground from the SIDE was crazy. This game is 10 years old and destroys EA in every fashion.
L1 and O should be highkick if i remember correctly
HIGH KICKS: Your fighter does not have any high kicks by default. You have to learn them from a fight camp. This gives you control over which high kick animation you have (i.e. control over how you throw your technique).
Damn i miss this game i remember when the beta came out everyone was stoked
🎉 (you can only throw high kicks with a certain archetype in the beginning, I believe it’s kickboxing)
A tip: Do MANUAL training so that your fighter can get the max stat benefits from the session. If you don't mind cutting out training in the editing, I don't either.

Striking in EA UFC is clear of this. It’s not perfect but at least you can throw straight punches while moving. Only punch you can throw while moving forward is a hook in this game
Yep in EA UFC 3 and 4 it's very difficult to throw a hook, uppercut, body hooks or body uppercut like I don't know why EA made it that way like most times I try throwing them I get rocked straight away especially in UFC 4

But Manually do your early training sessions. The later ones you can auto for sure
Also, I don't want to backseat too much, but you should try each training game at least once. Unlike UFC2/3/4, they're actually fun! Auto only gives you 2 stars, and if you do it yourself you can get more, which leads to bigger stat increases.

Right stick towards your opponent... then hold L1 and transition into single collar and again into the muay tai clinch... then hold L1+triangle or circle...

Your fighter levels up much faster when you do manual training instead of auto. It is worth doing imo bc each training session is only usually 1 minute. You can also learn new moves from the gym sessions

This game was made far before ufc 4 before ea even made the ufc games and pry is playing a modded version that’s why some of the stuff is fucked up
youve never experienced a good game and it shows. Play ud3 and youll understand why everyone loves it. Its not perfect but its a damn good game.
