would love to see an updated version of your if i could only keep ten haircare products sometime soon! love the original and interested in what might have changed
I completely agree with everything you've mentioned in your video - thank you so much for cutting through the bs! When I was younger, I got my cosmetology license and honestly, even professional cosmetologists are fed the same misleading marketing from brands to sell to themselves and their clients. It was very disillusioning to me. Through experimenting on my own hair for decades, I've learned not to fear SLS, not to try to force/"train" myself to go a week without washing, that most repair/protecting products do nothing, and especially your point about the moisturizing shampoos is dead on for me. Appreciate your content and looking forward to your next video!
I’m an esthetician and I’m now in school for nursing and the skin care industry is the same!! A lot of estheticians unfortunately are not knowledgeable like they think they are because of brands or their teachers. They only care about being MLM and some don’t even know it!
Haven’t watched it yet, since you just posted, but thank you for another hair care video ❤ Hair is my favorite topic & I feel like most youtubers focus on skincare &/or makeup, so I appreciate your channel all the more for so many informative hair care videos ☺️
Your knowledge and research about ingredients, products as well as marketing is truly astounding. Thank you for letting us know what to look out for when choosing a product. I would love a video on gray hair with best products to keep up with tone and shine! I appreciate your recommendations, thank you! Many blessings!💖💖💖
Yes! I do dye my hair but what’s with the white hairs being so course and wirey? So far k-18 has made a huge difference but would love to understand why my white hairs are so different than regular hairs and what else I can do to make them blend I guess ❤
I have long fine-medium, wavy/curly hair. It's not died or chemically processed. I have tried literally every "Natural" product I could try. They all weigh my hair down, left my scalp itchy and not as clean, hair more frizzy, frazzled, and dryer at times. I've had more difficulty growing my hair out for a while and maintaing my ends even with "Natural" oils. It's a mess
Hey Abbey. I agree with so much of what you are saying. You are a fountain of truth and myth busting in such and enjoyable way. I went through the whole "Silicones are bad" phase and I am so over that now. I agree that a lot of brands label a product in such a way to claim "Repair" or "Prevention". What a lot of these products actually do is make your hair look and feel good and that is not the same thing. Love you Abbey. Keep up the good work.
I just love your videos! Ever since switching from “natural” hair care brands and following your advice my hair has flourished! Thank you so much for all you do Abbey 🫶🏽
Not related but wanted to thank you for introducing me to the life changing Elf Halo Setting powder- I’ve tried all the high end settings powders out there, and this Elf is the only one that doesn’t alter my complexion! I’m obsessed. That being said- all the products that you have recommended and I tried- never disappointed! THANK YOU!
Bandwagoning is a recurring theme in the beauty industry, unfortunately. When one comes up with an innovative product you’ll see everyone else trying to get a piece of the pie. My earliest memory of this is when Clinique came out with the very first AHA skincare product, called Turnaround Cream. It was a true revolution for its time, and the result of years of innovative research by Clinique. It wasn’t too long afterwards that everyone else had an AHA moisturizer, too - once they saw that Clinique’s moisturizer was a hit with consumers.
Yeah the bond building claim is so sketch especially for drugstore products. The ingredients usually just look like regular conditioning ingredients. Your protein, your emollients, your cationic surfactants. That NYM bonding mask is actually a nice product though even if it doesn't "bond" anything. It's got great slip and makes my ends feel very smooth.
Can you do a video on cheap drug store shampoos vs high end expensive shampoos, and like debunking the myth that you need to only by expensive hair care products to have good hair?? I’ve spent SO much money on hair care and just decided to stop bc it’s exhausting always keeping up with the trendy expensive brands. I just started using the herbal essences rose hips shampoo and conditioner and my hair smells and feels amazing.
nicole Dr. Dray has a great video on hair care. She's a Derm Dr and she suggests very affordable hair care products. Also Dr. Sam Ellis, another Derm Dr. has a hair care video here too. I stick with the Derm Drs and do great. Just search them here on TH-cam for more choices if you like.
What shampoo do you think women in our history used? They usually made their own soap with oils and animal fat. Hair care isn’t complicated. Use a shampoo and conditioner, and a leave in conditioner…oil. Sometimes to help detangle. You’d be surprised how much your hair will grow. Hair didn’t start getting bad until people started making shampoos with a bad pH, and then coming out with hair color and lightener. If you use simple shampoo and conditioner and leave your hair alone…then your hair will grow.
Thank you so much for emphasizing the issue with so called "bond builders"... there are quite a few popular ones, that essentially just have some hydrolyzed proteins as well as other conditioning ingredients. Tbh, whe first "bond builder" I used was that type of product. I didn't question it back then because it made my hair feel nice and it looked healthier, but after actually damaging my hair with bleach & using Olaplex, I can tell the difference. These products mostly do what silicones have been doing in the past & are being demonised for: creating a protective coating.
I love your videos!!!! Yes we need a part two, three, four, more!!!! My hair feels so much nicer after listening to all the info on products and stuff and what not, you are a life saverrr! Thank you for your videos :):):):)
Your videos are always so thorough and researched. Thankyou for all the work you put in to them!! Also you are so gorgeous - you could totally model. I love how intelligent, down to earth, and upbeat you are
Thanks for another great video although as people age they don’t have as many oils on their scalp so hydrating shampoo feels less stripping. Maybe you could review this when at that stage in your life 🙏
I just wanted to say thank you. I've been using the L'Oreal Bond Strengthening shampoo and conditioner for a couple of months now and while I'm not crazy about the smell, I've definitely noticed a lot less breakage and/or fall out in the shower! I'm also saving money because the products I was using before were about 4x the price and not as easily accessible!
Abbey, can you do a video on clarifying shampoos? Your favorites? Ones to stay away from? I used to really dislike them but now that I only wash once or twice a week, I love the idea of completely cleansing off everything. I recently tried the ouai detox but am open to other suggestions (even drugstore if there are any). Thanks so much!
I would like to see an updated version of this for cosmetics branding research. For example: Charlotte Tilbury’s “What makes this magic?” product statistics are questionable at best 87.5% more glow *tested on 15 people over the course of a week. Who are these people? Why such a small sample size? Who ran the test? Face creams stating a percent reduction in wrinkles and fine lines. Hair is 30% more volume. Mascara, 110% more length….
Almost every time, there’s a teeny asterisk that says “based on a consumer perception survey of [small number] people in [date range]. They’re usually using focus groups and may hold multiple groups with the same or different questions until they get numbers they can use. It’s not exactly overtly dishonest, but it’s definitely not honest either.
Hi Abbey, Thank you for this video 📹. Your honesty is very much appreciated for what's good and not good for our hair to keep it as healthy as possible.
some of the products you said were red flags are meant for POC hair and they don't work because they aren't made for you, but I really agree with everything else you say!
There is no such thing as POC hair. One either has straight, kinky, curly or wave hair that can be dry, oily, normal or mixed. I am POC and when I was following the no poo, it destroyed my hair and scalp to the point I was diagnosed with androgenetic alopecia. A series of coincidences helped me realize it was the no poo technique. I spent 4 years and some coin to treat my hair back to health. Back in the day, before the whole BS Deva created and influencers influenced for their pocket delight, products were made for dry, normal, oily and mixed hair. Since I stopped no poo, I went back to products for dry hair and my hair is happy again. Before no poo, I used products for oily hair for 38 years. Then, I spent 7 years as no poo. It may work for some, it didn't for me and I always tell my story so if something is going wrong with your hair you should investigate if it is the no/low poo causing problems and don't get to male baldness level (and changed texture, no shine, etc).
that all natural / silicone free products don't work for you doesn't mean they're bad or a red flag! I used regular haircare with silicones and stuff like that all my life including high end ones like kerastase and moroccanoil, but when I moved abroad I decided to switch to natural and silicone free haircare and my hair never looked better: healthy, soft, bouncy, shiny, not a tangle on sight. fast forward to covid I had to go back to my country where those types of products are practically inaccessible, had to start using regular haircare again and my hair crashed completely. I developed a lot of oily dandruff which I had never had to that point, I went back to having tangly, frizzy hair but this time was extremely worse and due to that my hair became super dry and fragile, now everytime I run my hands through my hair snaps, not horizontally but vertically leading to a lot of thinning, my hair is half of what it used to be, thank god I always had such thick hair that you can't really notice the thinning because it is still thick. three years later I managed to get rid of the dandruff but I swear there's no way to make my hair feel better, no matter what conditioner, mask, serum I use it's still dry and brittle, only thing that offers me some relief is pure cooking coconut oil. not saying those other type of products are bad or dangerous because I really don't agree with that whole idea, but they're very clearly not for everybody, specially curly haired people, there's a reason why natural haircare has such a large cult following!
@@mushy470 unlikely because i actually struggled with hard water when i lived abroad (at the same time i was using natural haircare) it was so bad that water would come out of the tap so milky it was almost white and still my hair flourished. the place i live now it’s the same place i’ve always lived, and the water is just fine. i’m so sure because the place where my sister lives has awful water and when i stay at her place i can tell the difference immediately, it’s bad now but when i shower at hers it’s just.. Death, no salvation. her hair was literally destroyed from the hard water, bleaching and heat. she was spending hundreds of euro in high end haircare with regular ingredients but nothing worked, she switched to natural haircare under my advice and her hair is healing soo much, still damaged but so much better than what it used to even though she hasn’t changed the hard water, bleach and heat usage (she has slowed down a bit on this because she likes how natural products make her hair look so much that she doesn’t feel the need to straighten as often but she hasn’t stopped completely)
Abbey something looks different about you ! I can’t really tell what it is but did you get fillers on your lips ? I mean you can do whatever you want and if you feel more beautiful that way, good for you but I just wanted to say that I think you’re so beautiful just the way you are without the fillers.
Would love to see your thoughts on the hair care brand Truss. It’s Brazilian and recommended to me by my stylist, their night spa treatment is the best. Really see a difference in my hair.
Ur truly a master now. I’ve loved seeing you get better & better… sometimes 😂 (until I had a channel!), but you got it ALL down. The knowledge, the delivery…. Now you’re a teacher. ❤
Can you make a video showing the products we should be using for these categories? Or what exactly to be looking for on ingredient labels? Super good to know what to look for on labels but I feel a little lost on the next step. I’ve used Joico damage repair for years and am curious about it since I’ve never heard one influencer even mention Joico ever.
If the purple is actual, deposited purple pigments, like the Clairol Shimmer Lights, then yes, it is beneficial. The pigment cancels out brassy tones. If the purple is just a light, lilac or lavender creamy color, then no, that is basically pointless. You want to look for deep, dark shades of violet, nothing creamy!!
The Redken ABC treatment is good for damaged hair to make split ends or other dry/damaged areas look nicer, but it isn’t a purple shampoo. It does have some protection against color fading, but it’s not necessarily going to brighten the blonde or decrease the brassy tones. It def does condition and assist with heat or other damage though.
Based on ingredients it seems like a close dupe, they now also offer a pre-shampoo treatment in this line & Abbey said in one of her videos that it’s definitely a dupe for the redken acidic pre shampoo treatment 😁
Yes...I once had someone tell me...use shampoo for your scalp and conditioner for your hair. So you don't have to buy the same set of shampoo and conditioner (ie..buy voluming for shampoo and moisturizing for conditioner or whatever you need)
But I thought you “loved” Briogeo Superfoods Avocado Mask 🤷🏻♀️ I just saw in one of your video’s today??? It was recommended to me from Sephora.. and about to try tonight. I have high porosity fine bleached hair, thought it would be a good idea.. do you still believe I can use??
Hey abbey hope you are doing well Randomly I came across your channel I watched your channel it contains good contents about hair care but one thing is missing that is getting good haircut after it's care I please you to upload a good haircut video that would be helpful for us to decide which type of haircut we can take after growing our hair with care Hope you will upload it soon Thanks
🙆🏻♀️You won’t believe this but the cheap drugstore shampoos and conditioners I used since I was little girl back in the 80’s still work for my family….Pantene, Suave, Head and Shoulders, Herbal Essences , Mane and Tale😢🛒🛍️👏🏼😂🙋🏻♀️ Sometimes I feel outdated but I know it works…My mom would put mayo and eggs 🥚 in my hair mask and wear shower cap for 25 minutes…Also , the rainwater once a month would give your hair a detox from the fluoride water ….When it rain we would put out mop buckets 🪣 and my mom and aunts would rinse and dunk their hair….It would be shiny and beautiful afterwards….My curly hair was very long past my butt….All the mothers would ask my mom her secret…Also, she would put many different oils on my scalp and I would cry because of the smell …
Hair growth isn’t really complicated, we just make it complicated because of what we do to our hair and bodies. You can use the most expensive shampoo and have poor hair growth if you are constantly bleaching/colouring, if you have a bad diet, if you haven’t learned how to manage your stress levels, not exercising to improve your circulation, or if you have something wrong with your immune system. Take care of your body, and your hair will grow. I used to have super thin hair that wouldn’t grow past a certain length. I cut it off because I was depressed and I was also going through an eating disorder. I got better and gained some weight, and when my hair grew back, it was thicker, shinier, and it grew to the middle of my back. Now it’s short again and growing thicker and shinier than it did the last time. I had to go from 100 pounds to 160…but I’m healthier now and my hair is too, and I use vO5 shampoo…Feed your bodies.
I have always been wondering what the difference is between anti-breakage products and damage repair products. Because breakage is just the consequence of damage, isn't it? So in the end they are just different marketing terms for the same type of product?
Hey Abbey! Quick question for you - have you ever had a closer look into silicones and the way they are chemically build and work with your body? I´ve studied pharmacy a while ago (never really got to work in that field cause i quickly noticed i hated it lol) but one thing that always annoyed me is that so called "appeal to nature" effect, where brands try to get customers to buy their products with putting "natural" and "chemistry free" on their packages (even if it´s not true). To get to the point - as far as i remember chemistry classes and especially silicones that have a medical use and are as an active ingredient in medicin, those silicones won´t do anything with your body cause they´re too large (due to being a macro molecule) for being actually resorbed by your body. So i´ve always wondered if the same thing applied to the silicones in haircare and cosmetics and i suspect it does (don´t ask me why, i´m not quite sure and i would have to dive into chemistry to explain that claim), but i thought it might be an interesting topic for you to research and explain next time you´re mentioning anything like that, cause in my brain with my logic it destroyes a good chunk of "chemistry is so bad for your health" blabla :) Btw - love your hairstyle in this video!
Shampoos are being formulated thinking of the natural hair community that hates sulfates. Redken recently reformulated the shampoo of their All Sof Mega range to remove sulfates. I loved this shampoo and this line. If the product doesn't have silicones chances are I won't buy it. Going no poo/natural products destroyed my hair. When I realized the source of that and stopped no poo I needed products without oils/butters... and it was almost impossible to find at the time. Redken Extreme was the only line with just chemicals in it that I could use. The problem with Bond Repair is that Olaplex laid out the chemical that is doing the job. You can believe it or not. Most of the others claim they can do bond repair, but that pesky ingredient list doesn't have any molecule that can do it.
Thanks for the video. Love the research you put into your videos. Love how you are addressing these issues. Have you tried any Verb Hair Care products? They are mid range line. I use both their clarifying shampoo as well as their Curl and Ghost lines. Definitely think people need to clarify on a regular basis. I find monthly works for me. There are so many things that affects your hair besides products such as pollution and hard water but people focus on silicones. I find that since I started using silicones again my hair has looked better. CGM was not for me. Have a great week.
As someone with a dry scalp I hate super creamy shampoos. Part of it is because if you have a dry scalp you’re more likely to be an infrequent washer. At some point you need to help your scalp out and do some proper cleansing. Otherwise the dry scalp gets even worse.
I have the Odele clarifying shampoo and it has the strangest texture ever, doesn’t lather at all! I have started mixing it with a sulfate shampoo just so I’m not wasting it😅
Hi, thank you for the great information! I need help with going gray/ growing my gray roots. I am in my 50s and I have long, fine, but very healthy hair. Despite having a lot of hair, hairdressers don't like to work with it due to the amount of effort required. For the last 20 years, I have been coloring my roots and for the past 3.5 years, I have been using demi-permanent colors to color my roots. Currently, my grays are too light to cover and my hair grows very fast. Therefore, I decided to try "Herringbone highlights". I have talked with a couple of hair studios, and they recommended that I use clarifying shampoo for three weeks. However, after using it twice once a week, my hands became extremely dry and I had to apply moisturizer every 15 minutes. I can't imagine the damage it could do to my hair. So far, my roots have grown 2.5 cm. These are my questions: 1. Is there a clarifying shampoo that can remove some of the demi-permanent colors from my hair without damaging it? 2. Do you have any other recommendations for me before the "Herringbone highlights" process? Thank you for your help!
I would love to hear your thoughts on Malibu C Un Doo Goo and Malibu C Hard Water Shampoos. They both come highly recommended. But listed right on the bottle of the Un Doo Goo is a pH greater than 9.
I blame the curly girl method for the beginning of the silicone witch hunt. My poor curls SUFFERED for years with just cowashing and no silicones in my routine. Gimme, gimme all the sulfates and silicones.
They look ridiculous and I couldn’t pay attention to anything she was saying because it looks like she was stung in the mouth by a bee. I’m so sick of beauty influencers falling into the trend of the un-natural looking blown up lips and it sucks that Abbey has fallen into the trend. Won’t be watching now.
I thought so too! I get lip fillers and the first month or so my mouth moves differently when I talk until I’m used to them again, and I feel like this was happening in this video, they look amazing ❤
For the all-natural, all the product pictures you showed are just using it as a tactic, but there are good ones out there. I use natural products as much as possible because my body doesn't process toxins correctly. I was recommended to limit things like petroleum and synthetic ingredients. I have done a lot of research, and the EWG website has lots of info. Many companies say something may be "natural," but it isn't. EWG looks at the ingredients and how harsh they are. Plus, they have info on many elements and why they think they do.
@@Stephanie_Vincent, it was actually both my psychiatrist and my functional GYN. and toxic is probably the wrong word. It is more than my body builds up from I guess "normal" products, and I feel horrible when I don't use "natural" products. It is more that I have a lot of health issues, and I would rather be safe than sorry when it comes to the small things I can change. Truly, I am also just using products that don't make my sensitive skin react.
I've seen the green briogeo mask being hyped up on tiktok so much that i got a smaller version of it to try and it was honestly one of the least impressive masks i've used. Felt like it did nothing for my hair and the smell made me gag, the price for it is insane.
Can you make a video on what to do and/or use for dandruff. I always want to try new shampoos, but I have to go back to Head and Shoulders because of my dandruff.
Are the products you show the ones that you DON"T or DO recommend? It's not clear.. I'm specifically referring to the clarifying shampoos since I'm in the market for one.
Abby- What clarifying / detox shampoos do you like? Hard water/well water The total dissolved solids (TDS) is our water stick to my hair and make it gummy and heavy. We don’t have an iron problem or chlorine issue. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME. I also need a few options of conditioners with silicone in them. I have natural curly hair which is on the drier side anyway but with the TDS at higher levels in the water nothing makes my hair soft. I need some slip. We do have a whole house water system plus two huge filters but the only thing to remove the TDS would be a whole house RO system and that’s like $10K-$20K…. I HATE it but we can’t move. I am in MN. Ugh please anyone help me. Thank you all so much.
I have natural wavy/curly hair and have hard water too. I use the ION clarifying shampoo and also get the ION crystal clarifying treatment ( its a little package that you mix up into a goo and apply to the hair) It's like a malibu treatment you can do at home. It's been helpful for me. I get it at Sally Beauty. I use the EVA NYC hair therapy mask after to condition my ends after using the shampoo.
Hey abbey! I love your videos and just used K18 yesterday and LOVED it. The lathering technique also changed my shampoo game. I was wondering how you feel about loosely clipping your hair when you have conditioner in? I know you use a microfiber towel but I don’t have an extra one for that. Am i damaging my hair if it’s in a clip?
Hey Abbey! I wanted to start off by saying Thank You! ❤ I adore you and I love your channel. I have learned so much from you and have actually made progress with my hair journey! That Aveeno Apple Cider Vinegar Clarifying shampoo is nice but it's so gentle. I felt like I could use it daily if I needed too. I only wash my hair once or twice a week. I donprefer a stronger Clarifying shampoo though. What do you think of the Marc Anthony Grow Long and Bond Repair Shampoo and Conditioner? What about Soapbox Fruit and Enzyme repairing shampoo and conditioner? Have a good day! And yes! I would love to see a part 2! It's amazing and kind.of crazy how you can twist a few words and make a claim just to sell items. The world is going crazy!
Redken volume shampoo contains alcohol denat. I'm afraid it will damage my hair. Unfortunately, I didn't notice this ingredient before. I didn't expect such a good brand to botch such a product.😪
Hi Abbey! I love this information you’re giving! What resources would you recommend for learning what ingredients in hair care/cosmetics/skin care do? I really want to understand better about what the ingredients do.
Hey Abby have you tried any of the Davines products. People seem to really love the “milk oil” Davines makes. Please if you can would like your opinion on this Italian hair product line
It's up to you what you do but have you had your upper lip done? You're talking alittle different and your upper lip moves in different way to how it usually does.
I agree with what you said about Hydrating shampoos, but I have to say, Pureology Hydrate gets my hair super clean, almost as well as a clarifying, and it’s not drying. My blonde looks so bright after using it. It’s the only shampoo I use that says it hydrates.
I have yet to find a silicone free hair product that doesn't make my hair worse I hate it. I will pay more for silicone in my product my hair is long and I am trying hard to protect it
Hi Abbey, LOVE your channel!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can you help me???? I have two 'asks' if that's ok? Firstly I am perimenopausal and recently my scalp has become excessively scaly and dry, I have tried TONS of products (clarifying shampoos/masks/exfoliators .. you name it!!!) but what I really want is something that will actively remove the scaly, dead skin from my scalp - I will tolerate having flakes/dandruff in my hair if it means that the scales are being removed - any help gratefully received. My second ask is a recommendation for a product that help retain curls - preferably something I could apply on damp hair before drying and curling - I have tried a few but nothing lasts. Thanks a mill from M in Ireland!!
When I do the coconut oil amount like you my hair looks super greasy once it’s dry. I have very fine and thin hair. I think inhale the same structure as you, just not a lot. Do you have straight hair when airdrying?
would love to see an updated version of your if i could only keep ten haircare products sometime soon! love the original and interested in what might have changed
Yes, such a good idea!
I second this!
Same!! Please
Please do a whole video on UV protective ingredients in hair care! It can be hard to know what to look for
yes please!!
Yes!!

You look extra wonderful today, that hair + makeup + black top = perfection ❤️
Thank you ❤️
I would love to see your "red flags" with skincare and makeup too!
Your knowledge and research about ingredients, products as well as marketing is truly astounding. Thank you for letting us know what to look out for when choosing a product.

I love when you post haircare videos!! You look amazing with your hair up🤍
This was a really nice guide through the jungle of haircare marketing claims. Thank you!
I love how educated you are on the beauty industry and how informative your videos are!!

Great presentation! Welcome back home, you're looking fantastic ❤
Maybe you could review this when at that stage in your life 🙏
Very true!
I just love your hair today it is so cute and elegant. Love your content Abbey
I have cut out non water soluble silicones since new year. I have to say, I don't have to wash my hair as often cos it just doesn't build up the same
I would like to see an updated version of this for cosmetics branding research.
This is such a great idea! I’ve always wondered and I think abbey’s marketing background would be helpful in assessing market research
@@lamemechose7072 that’s interesting thanks for sharing 🙂
I developed a lot of oily dandruff which I had never had to that point, I went back to having tangly, frizzy hair but this time was extremely worse and due to that my hair became super dry and fragile, now everytime I run my hands through my hair snaps, not horizontally but vertically leading to a lot of thinning, my hair is half of what it used to be, thank god I always had such thick hair that you can't really notice the thinning because it is still thick. three years later I managed to get rid of the dandruff but I swear there's no way to make my hair feel better, no matter what conditioner, mask, serum I use it's still dry and brittle, only thing that offers me some relief is pure cooking coconut oil. not saying those other type of products are bad or dangerous because I really don't agree with that whole idea, but they're very clearly not for everybody, specially curly haired people, there's a reason why natural haircare has such a large cult following!
this sounds like a hard water problem
Your hair is looking so cute today, love the low pony!
Abbey can you do a tutorial of your daily makeup lately? (Regular daily OR your filming makeup but I’d prefer daily 😊)
Abbey something looks different about you ! I can’t really tell what it is but did you get fillers on your lips ? I mean you can do whatever you want and if you feel more beautiful that way, good for you but I just wanted to say that I think you’re so beautiful just the way you are without the fillers.
That color wow shampoo was absolutely horrifying. Made my hair greasy only a few hours after washing
1) extra pretty look today. 2) yes for a part 2. And 3) new apartment tour plz ♥️
Would love a part 2 ❤❤
Thank you, Abbey, for always making the best content and educating us! ❤
love the video! absolutely up for more of these videos
So glad!!
Is using purple shampoo on blonde hair actually beneficial? Does it strip color or dry your hair out? Is there a better way to care for blonde hair?
If the purple is actual, deposited purple pigments, like the Clairol Shimmer Lights, then yes, it is beneficial. The pigment cancels out brassy tones. If the purple is just a light, lilac or lavender creamy color, then no, that is basically pointless. You want to look for deep, dark shades of violet, nothing creamy!!
There's a brand Redkin that Abbey has mentioned many times in her videos. Specifically Acidic Bonding Concentrate. Hope this helps!
Hey! Could u please compare L’Oréal bond repair line with the redken acidic line?! I’m on a budget xD
Based on ingredients it seems like a close dupe, they now also offer a pre-shampoo treatment in this line & Abbey said in one of her videos that it’s definitely a dupe for the redken acidic pre shampoo treatment 😁
@@annecathymoore3810 thank u 💜
Will add to my list!
@@AbbeyYung thx ❤️❤️❤️
Omg your hair looks beautiful today!
The denser the product, whether it be shampoo, conditioner or body wash, sometimes is harder to squeeze out of the bottle.
Hey abbey hope you are doing well
Randomly I came across your channel
I watched your channel it contains good contents about hair care but one thing is missing that is getting good haircut after it's care
I please you to upload a good haircut video that would be helpful for us to decide which type of haircut we can take after growing our hair with care
Hope you will upload it soon
Thanks
Love these mom hacks 😂❤️
Oh boy.
It's just your hair genetics.
So in the end they are just different marketing terms for the same type of product?
sounds all valid, but now i am even more confused what i can buy. I have fine hair and look for volume and help to use heat for curling.
Follow @labmuffin ! She is amazing and funny.
Beautiful job, Abbey!❤❤
These are my questions:
1. Is there a clarifying shampoo that can remove some of the demi-permanent colors from my hair without damaging it?
2. Do you have any other recommendations for me before the "Herringbone highlights" process?
Thank you for your help!
Why do you consider having an oil scalp when you can go a week without wash your hair?
I would love to hear your thoughts on Malibu C Un Doo Goo and Malibu C Hard Water Shampoos. They both come highly recommended. But listed right on the bottle of the Un Doo Goo is a pH greater than 9.
Please review Sunbum haircare!!
I do enjoy some silicone in some of my hair products but I don't want or need them in every product I use.
I blame the curly girl method for the beginning of the silicone witch hunt. My poor curls SUFFERED for years with just cowashing and no silicones in my routine. Gimme, gimme all the sulfates and silicones.
Then people will sue companies when not using products or ingredients correctly.
Literally just arrived here and I already love you!
So excited for this video!!
🥰🥰
Did you get lip fillers? If not, your lipstick/lip liner/lip gloss routine today is amazing!
What kind of Shampoo and conditioner do you recommend if I have an oily scalp and dry ends ??? 😭😭
Who told you this? Were they a science-based doctor or a homeopath or similar? "Not natural" hair products are not toxic.
Natural and botanical just means possible allergens for me. Botanical doesn't mean better.
I've seen the green briogeo mask being hyped up on tiktok so much that i got a smaller version of it to try and it was honestly one of the least impressive masks i've used. Felt like it did nothing for my hair and the smell made me gag, the price for it is insane.
Yes that mask suuucks. My hair was so dry after using it.
I love the Kristin ess clarifying shampoo, I think it’s available at target in the us? It’s relatively easy to find I believe. Just my two cents
Malibu is great with hard water!
Thank you everyone
THAT FREAKING PONYTAIL!!!! 😍🥰🤤 okay back to watching the video 😅
😂😂❤️❤️
Actually the Aphogee will give you instant results for sure.
12:47 that had me crack!🤣
Love your vids Abbey💞
Redken volume shampoo contains alcohol denat. I'm afraid it will damage my hair. Unfortunately, I didn't notice this ingredient before. I didn't expect such a good brand to botch such a product.😪
It won't damage your hair. It's in there to help the ingredients emulsify together.
PART 2, PLEASEEEE
Thanks for this video Abby. I hope you're doing okay. ❤❤
It's necessary or beneficial to apply shampoo to bottom half+ends of the hair. Only on the scalp+roots
Cute hair Abbey!
Hi Abbey! I love this information you’re giving! What resources would you recommend for learning what ingredients in hair care/cosmetics/skin care do? I really want to understand better about what the ingredients do.
I’m with you on the botanical and natural. Most plant oils are comedogenic and irritating to skin.
Has anyone noticed a redundant content?
Hey Abby have you tried any of the Davines products. People seem to really love the “milk oil” Davines makes. Please if you can would like your opinion on this Italian hair product line
It's up to you what you do but have you had your upper lip done? You're talking alittle different and your upper lip moves in different way to how it usually does.
She did, she says so in her previous video.
@@ashrmksoh right. I didn't get a notification for that video. Thanks
I agree with what you said about Hydrating shampoos, but I have to say, Pureology Hydrate gets my hair super clean, almost as well as a clarifying, and it’s not drying. My blonde looks so bright after using it. It’s the only shampoo I use that says it hydrates.
Dang it doesn’t work that way for me I wish!
Can you do one for hair vitamins 😅 I never know if they actually work or not 😢
I have yet to find a silicone free hair product that doesn't make my hair worse I hate it.
Abbey, Have you ever tried WEN? I would love to know what you think of this product. I think it is still sold on QVC. Thank you!
I like your hair like that. Gorgeous!
Thank you 🥰
love ur hair this way 😍
The products ahes showing on the screen, is she promoting them or saying those are bad ?
When I do the coconut oil amount like you my hair looks super greasy once it’s dry. I have very fine and thin hair. I think inhale the same structure as you, just not a lot.
Do you have straight hair when airdrying?
