Thank you very much for the very detailed and thorough explanation. This video was extremely helpful!
Very informative and useful video! Thanks!
WOW Thanks for the amazing get to the point video Fixing 2 problems I had .I’m now using my controller n speakers as my hi fi 👍🏿👍🏿👌
insane production quality nice video
Nice, clear as water and thanks 👍🏻
Thank you!
You sound a lot like Chris Bumstead hahaha
Real
Connecting Bodybuilding to djing is skilful.
Thanks so much for your help!
this is so helpful! thank you! I have a dj controller with only RCA out. do I just need RCA to XLR to go into a active speaker? I don't need an audio mixer?
My controller(Ddj400) only has RCA OUTPUT what should be the best way to connect RCA to xlr port to the amplifier
You can get a cable that is rca to xlr. Just look up rca to xlr cable
Bro be exposing fake ass RCAs outchea! Thanks bro! 💪
This is super helpful but what are your thoughts on RCA to HDMI? I have a DDJ-400 and want to connect it to my vizio 5.1 soundbar which uses HDMI
The video is amazing ! Is that the Numark platinum FX ?
I have a set of passive mackie 410 subwoofers I’m trying to use with my set of passive Behringer speakers. What kind of audio mixer do I need? Also how would I direct low end to the sub and mids/ highs to the speakers? Is that what a crossover is for? I feel very lost lol please help
I should also note that I’m using cdj1000s
I’ve just bought the Denon Prime 4+ controller, what is the best way to connect to a pair of Rokit 8 studio monitors? Sorry if the question is a little stupid but I’m new to powered speaker setups. Thank you if you can help.
Great video! Can I put unbalanced signal to Line1 and 2 from a DDJ FLX4 (Rca to xlr) and take balanced signal from XLR main outs with the ProFX6v3?
The Radial ProAV2 has the right and left xlr outputs. The way I have my setup now, my first speaker connects to the other wirelessly. Do I need to run the "left xlr' output to my left speaker and the "right xlr" out to my right speaker? Or can I daisy chain them with one xlr cable coming from the Radial ProAV2?
Quick questions I have a dj controller Numark that has an rca output. I want to use two speakers one having rca :in and out" and the other only allow aux 3.5 "in and out". How would I go about having the controller set to both? Great video!
I know serato can split stems and assign to buttons and all… can we assign each instrument section to different outputs? Even if we use an audio interface to have 8 or 10 outputs?
This would enable us to assign instruments to different speakers. Creating 3D audio. For live events
I have two 1/4 on the back of my DJ controller. I need a cable to go to my powered monitor. The monitor has one 1/4" female input and one XLR female input. There is also "link output" male XLR connection.. The monitor is for my "Booth Speaker". I hope you can get me the right cable... 🤞
Is it possible to use RCA to 3.5mm audio jack..?
question, if I want to connect two speakers via rca/xlr from my controller that does not have xlr.. how would I connect two speakers?
Is it possible to go from 1 dj controller, for example a DDJ flex 4 with RCA into another dj controller like an XDJ RX2 which would be inputted into either the AUX RCA or the Master RCA and from the XDJ RX2 it will go to the speakers via XLR master output?
Can anyone help with my question?
I have a D class amplifier (2*50+100w) that has a aux (3.5mm) input. Can i use the booth (or master) RCA output of the controller to the aux input of amplifier? (With the adapter cable)
*Asking because RCA usually is used only for signal, not power transfer, but not always...
Given that if I DJ in mono and using two speakers, would it be alright to plug one of the XLR's to a PA mixer and still achieve the same amount of sound when using two XLR's?
If you use two speakers you should be using stereo because not only will the sound be unbalanced, it will sound lower. Once you disconnect the xlr from one of the speakers it won’t do much difference since you are already in mono.
May I ask which one would sound better between cable RCA to TS or RCA to XLR? cause my ddj flex 4 only have rca out but i want to best quality out of KRK monitor...Thank youu
What did you find? I'm buying the Thump Go 8 from Mackie but it only has XLR inputs and i have the flx4
I can’t get sound out of my Partybox 100 from my DDJ flx4
I have the right cable what do I do?
I have a Hercules impulse 200, and I’m doing my first outdoor set a month from now. I’m trying to figure out which speakers are compatible with that controller. Any suggestions help
how about my flx4 I want speaker plus monitor speaker on my side while playing ? Flx4 have only RCA no XLR Thanks
What kind of numark controller is that? Thank you
Is it okay to connect the XLR output(s) from a DJ controller to the XLR input(s) of an external audio mixer? Or are the XLR inputs on an external mixer strictly for microphone use?
I get confused, because some mixers (such as the new Mackie ProFX6v3+) have combination jacks that are labeled as "Mic/Line" while other mixers (such as the Allen & Heath Zedi 10) have XLR inputs labeled "Mic" and there's a separate line input placed underneath it.
Super well explained! If we have any questions, can we send you an email? Thank you
I have a XLR female to rca running from my 15 inch mackey thump to my controller its plugged in the mix out port but now I don't have any sound is this because it doesn't work as a option
Question so with the pioneer Rev 1 it only has RCA in the back I can’t use long wires? Does that mean speakers must stay at close range?
You can use long cables if you wish, but you risk static/interference. I would never perform at a live event with RCA connecting your DJ Controller to speakers. Eventually, you'll need to find a way to balance your signal (DI Box or Audio Mixer).
I have 2 jbl party 1000 (input RCA or aux, output RCA) and 2 jbl party encore (input aux)
How would you connect these to a dj controller (or external audio mixer)
Kind regards
I would just use an RCA cable.
I do not have a booth output on my dj controller, how do i use a mixer to get both booth and main outputs at a club with this issue? And what kind of mixer?
Use AUX output on mixer or monitor output on mixer. Some mixers also booth or control room output.
Hello, I have 2 questions. I bought the Numark Mixstream Pro. This has 2 RCA unbalanced outputs and 2 balanced XLR outputs. I have 1 powered speaker, the Electro Voice ZLX 15BT.
When I connect the controller and speaker with the RCA (controller) and jack (speaker) this sounds louder then a connection with an XLR cable (controller) and line 1 (speaker).
How is this possible?? The connection with XLR sounds a little bit muted.
The speaker also has 2 XLR line inputs. Should I use 2 XLR cables , 1 XLR cable left (controller) to line 1 (speaker) and 1 XLR right (controller) to line 2 (speaker)? Or is just 1 cable enough (from left or right (controller) to line 1?
Many greetings from Belgium, Philippe
Hello there! :)
How did u solve it ?
I'm having similar complications 😅
Me too, any solution bro?
I can play at home just from my DJ mixer without any audio mixer extra to it right?
You can yes.
I have the ddj flx4 and have the krk 5 g4 with the s8.4 sub. Would I need an audio interface from the dj controller to run the sub and speakers I get told I do and I get told I don’t
I have the same set up. If I’m not misunderstood (I’m still trying to figure this out myself) you don’t need to have audio interface/DI box/mixer but you will want to use one because the flx4 only has rca outputs which causes unbalanced audio. You want to run your rca into one of these devices so that it turns it into a balanced signal.
I have the same setup, but the krks don't have a switch that will convert the mic level (coming from the DI) to a line level (going into a speaker). How would I feed the KRK's a balanced input if I'm using an unbalanced controller
How about Bluetooth speakers to the controller?
I connected my ns4fx to my vonyx subwoofer using rca cables and can’t hear anything
I need help. How to connect from Dj controller to a BOSE T 1 Tone match to a active speaker. Do I need to change mover? I got RCA output in my controller and I use RCA cable to one TS 1/4 , but the signal is very low. I a don’t know what i am doing wrong.
We touched on it in this video. RCA outputs are quiet (~14dB less volume than XLR or TRS), if you want to get "more volume", it's best to connect to an audio mixer before connecting to your speaker, this will give you the ability to turn it up more before getting to your speakers.
@@kettnercreative I did connect it to my Bose Tone match mixer but I still don’t get the best out of it. That’s the reason that makes me think tif I need another type of mixer?
Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.
@@raymondgonzalez9095 Try calling bose. They can help you!
great content, but the constant zoom in and out get's very distracting.
its not balanced. just because its TRS doesn't automatically means its balanced. TRS are used in balanced connections, but not exclusively. It can just be a stereo unbalanced cable.
Try rca to xlr then turn phantom power on and watch your gear burn and explode
where is your accent from? the US? but where?
Western Canada
Only shows his face only
Can I connect dj controller to my car stereo speakers with using a solar panel and a walkman cassette player to record my mixes. I have a mixer that I often use at work, could this mixer also be used too play music? I know it's great with cement mixing
If my mixer already have XLR should I buy DI Box ? Or is it only for RCA cables to invert them into balanced so the feets can be longer ?
Only to balance RCA. If you have XLR, you're good.
