    Some slight nomenclature notes
92...gun prior to the one you reviewed. Safety mounted on the frame (M 1911 style)
92S...the gun you reviewed. Safety relocated to slide, incorporated a decocker
92SB...relocated the magazine release to the base of the trigger guard (1911 style)
92SB-F, later called 92F...squared trigger guard. As adopted by the military as the "M9"
92FS...added the safety to prevent the slide from separating if it cracked. Military M9A1.
I own both the Browning and the Beretta 92FS. I am a retired cop and carried the Beretta 92FS as an issued gun for 7 years of a 37 year career. I also carried two different revolvers, 1 I bought and 1 issued to me, and a SIG P228 in plain clothes duty. I liked the Beretta better than the SIG. (personal preference) but the P228 was better for plain clothes duty as it is easier to conceal. I favor the Browning but only "just because".

Yours is a pretty clean example. Plus the grip screws are hex, which is unusual. When I got mine, the first thing I did was order a new recoil spring, locking block, spring and pin. $35.00 from Beretta. Pretty easy to install, and makes it like new, especially since Beretta installed a new barrel . For the money, this is a first class weapon.

I bought 2 in 2015, one for me and one for my Pop's! They were in rough shape, but they were so cheap I completely disassembled and restored them with Powder coat, Cerakote, and New grips.. Total cost was $400 each, completely restored! I believe there's a total of 51pcs in each pistol when Fully disassembled, it was a really fun project and plenty of step by step video's on TH-cam!

Quite like my 92S, bought about 6 months ago. Got some extra mags from ProMag, and yes, they work fine. Got some very nice wood grips from KSG.
A drop of white nail polish on the front sight makes a world of difference

To be honest I’ve always believed that the military made the wrong choice with the handgun program in the 80s by choosing the beretta over the sig. just never been a fan of the design but I will give it credit it served well with our armed forces. Also love the videos and keep up the good work

I Love these! I have 4 that are in Excellent condition! They are Very Accurate! I’d like to get a 96 because it is a .40 and my preference as a carry round. I think these old 92S Berettas will be worth some money 💰 some day, so I plan on passing them down to each of my daughters and my son!

I agree with JHP comment. My 92s ate a full mag and ran it flawlessly.

I bought Lok grips for my 92s, but I had to use a Dremel because of the slide mounted safety

First to comment! And I'm enjoying your videos during the lockdown, David. Thank you. While I'm not a fan of that particular model of Beretta, I can appreciate its importance! My current 9 MMs are a Browning Hi-Power and an older MBK 9HP from Kassnar. Remember them? LOL. That was more or less a Smith 59 clone from Hungary, I believe. Shoots well, though!
    Stay safe, my friend!

I bough a 92 fs in the early 90's and I thought it was well made and the 15 round mags were a plus. I got talked out it by my nephew and I think he still has it. As far as my preference between the Hi Power and the 92 the Hi Power has always been my favorite when it comes to 9mm. The Hi Power is just a beautiful handgun.

Not bad mouthing the 92 series 9MM, but I've never understood the allure of these handguns. I handled one back in the mid-'80s and always felt is was too large for a 9MM.

It's a real man's gun...not designed for girly boys with tiny hands.

I have one, tiny sites, the sights are to small, way to small.
Where did you find the handgrips

Yours has no washer retrofitted on the hammer axle and no matching groove milled into the slide during re-arcenalling. The later typically leads to matte re-bluing of the slide. I like the original condition, like yours, better.

That aluminum frame gets dinged up pretty easily-- I own 2 of them. Good shooting Pistols 👍

I prefer to buy a beretta 1951 because of it's cheap price you can buy a beretta 1951 only with 200 dollars instead of beretta 92 s . Beretta 1951 is more reliable and is a piece if history of handguns

the BERETTA MOD. 92S was given to the State Police and the Carabinieri or a military unit of the Italian law enforcement agencies. the orderly pistols fired 50 cartridges every year which is why the barrels are in very good condition! from 1978 to 2001 they remained in service and then were disbarred. During these years they underwent an update in the Terni military arsenal with the addition of safety to the shutter like the 92 FS model. Then they were sent to various foreign countries including the U.S.A. who bought most of them !!! in Italy they were converted into 9x21 caliber since the 9mm parabellum is forbidden to private citizens !!! If you want to know more, subscribe to my Facebook group dedicated to the Beretta mod. 92 s, here is the Link: facebook.com/groups/864111717068416/ hello greetings Patrick.
