Great video. It is unbelievable how Berlin has changed over the years. I grew up in Poland also a rail fan. I still remember the Trabants , Wartburgs , Fiats and so on...... Great memories. So many Ludmillas , BR 132's in this video , I have one in the same livery in TT scale.
This is Dresden Hbf and at 6:40 it's a DR Y-Wagen with DB IC coach. DR-Y Wagen has two paints Green and Cream and Orange and Cream paint the Stadseexpress
That is only almost correct. There are 3 Bmhe, then BDe (Y), IC (Bwmz ?), ABme (Z2) and 3 Bmhe. Y were all degraded to Green Cream in 1991, only Z2, few Bmhe and Wrg are orange cream Städteexpress.
@pollemar thank you for telling me about that. For some of the West German historical Railway Society organisations, they have a Rekowagen Speisewagen in their collection, which one have formed a train set with the orange and cream Städteexpress.
Simply proper loco-hauled trains intead of boring EMU - great ! I'm surprised by the short dining car in the orange Städteexpress - thought they are limited to 120km/h ... while this type on engine was adjusted to 140/160 km/h ?
@@edgarkretzschmar959
Oh yes - the x12 / x43 ... respectively 114 mess - can't stop getting confused by these two very similar loco types . Though - the bordeaux-red colour scheme could have told me the speed-category ... @@pollemar

There is no Berlin in this video.
THANKS FOR THE DIGITIZATION!!!😊😊😊

The engine, BR 243, was also limited to 120, like everywhere at DR, 120 or less.
