If you're going to pay all that money for the Storck, at least make sure you put front tyre / wheel on the right way round! (check the tread pattern at 0:48)

Serious Bikes is a German brand with such bikes as their Valparola X gravel bike. About 600 €.
Serious Bikes are German designed yet toward the budget/beginner/commuter end of the wallet.

After few years on carbon bike frame, I am inclined to have a new titanium bike, too many issues with not up to standard tolerances with carbon frames. Steel and titanium is forever, very comfortable and forgiving.

Well, we don't have only 'brands' in Germany. If you are a real enthusiast about cycling you should try a Vigmos. Just pick a frame, submit your anatomical body sizes and you get a frame individually welded to suit your needs.

that's an interesting story... years ago the German bike industry was dead, the old brands like Hercules, Patria, NSU... had died; and now you have Storck, Canyon, Cube, Focus, Stevens, Ghost, Benotti, Radon, Corratec, and more

I’m enjoying the bike so far th-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.

Cube - sure! Ghost - something in between the two. Focus - no, unless you are an anorexic. All Focus bikes are rated to 110kg load, including the bike itself, the rider and the luggage. Something fit for Gulliver on some of his travels, but not for adult humans.
