A player that saved United from endind 3 in the UCL group behind Atalanta, a player that scored the 2 more goals against the Premier top 6 behind Moh Salah, a player that scored almost half of all his clubs goals in all competitions, that all by himself saved multiple games whit last minute screamers, that recieved 2 Premier League player of the month awards and that was in the Premier top XII of the season.

The first, and probably most harmful step (which still probably wont happen because they are still too good for that in the long run) would be relegation. The club needs a throw in the coldest of waters to see that without change they are not even good enough for the league anymore.
I don't think they'll get relegated but if they do then it might actually help. The Glazers leave the sinking ship after relegation, a new owner comes in, deals with financial issues and manages to get them back into the Premier League. I think United will eventually hover mostly around 6th-10 place and become an average team barely in the top half of the table. Will success return? Probably, but there's still many years before that.
I can’t see them actually getting relegated, bar some injury crisis or everyone just turning into cardboard cutouts mid match. Then again I never imaged Brentford putting 4 past them so who knows.
But unfortunately that may be what they need to wake up the board. Maybe not relegation but a mid table finish, way off the pace of the other “Top 6” clubs. Everton are in a similar spot where years of mismanagement finally culminated in them almost getting relegated last season. And with a fraction of the spending power and pull that United have, Everton have a long road ahead to get them back to midtable, let alone pushing for Europe.

Ten Hag plays with a single pivot which is vulnerable to pressing. If Eriksen is marked out of the game, that front line isn't going to get service. Would love to see James Garner in a double pivot with Eriksen, with Fred or Sancho as the number 10, and Bruno on the bench until he learns not to waste chances.

I mean, it's refreshing to see the tables change in football through the years, to see new winners etc. But this is just disrespectful to the sport itself. I've never been a fan of Man Utd, but to see a giant of the sport falling down so miserably is honestly sad, much like AC Milan post 2011, though here the culture has shifted, and this is bringing back the winning culture of the past.

When arsenal lost 3 games last season there still was a project there and a plan they was just unfortunate with injuries and playing 2 top 6 teams. Whereas with united there is no project. No major injuries the team that lost 4-0 would have been ten hags starting 11 throughout the season. No proper scouting of a player with due diligence to see if they would work well under EtH. Pure panic signings are now happening with clubs knowing they're desperate they are getting rightfully over charged. The stadium is massively out dated and decaying the same goes for the training ground and most the players want to leave. The fact that they want to sell garner to fund a panic signing shows the level of incompetent planning and remember those responsible at united would have known that ten hag was gonna come way back in February and have had time to plan. They even had rangnick someone who understands how to build a football club giving them advice over those months of planning. Its fundamentally broken and this long comment doesn't even touch the ice Berg. United fans better be ready for a relegation battle

If they find a way to build their midfield around Casemiro and van de Beek they can find great success. Casemiro can screen the defence like he does for Real and occasionally move forward with the ball. De Beek can do that thing that he did in Ajax, invite a couple of opposing attacking mids to press him and then escape them to find a progressive pass. But this time with the added security of Casemiro behind him. If i was playing fifa 22 with manU i'd put them in a double pivot with bruno as CAM, Ronaldo and Sancho and left and right wings. But that's just me sitting in an armchair. Can this be possible though?
Well it hasn’t exactly been all doom and gloom for United during the post-Ferguson era. They’ve won some domestic cups, a Europa League, and they’ve finished as high as second.
None of those things should be scoffed at. At the end of the day winning trophies is a form of success. While they haven’t won the PL or the UCL since Ferguson’s departure they have given their fans reasons to be optimistic during their banter era.
I personally think at some point United losing has to catch up to them sooner or later. Losing over a long sustained period will affect the club’s popularity. The question is will that happen? It’s not going to be enough for United to just hover around the European places. They have to sink like a stone and have some relegation scares.
