  • Tim Brooke-Taylor Interview about Do Not Adjust Your Set and At Last The 1948 Show
'At Last The 1948 Show' and 'Do Not Adjust Your Set' gained a large adult following. Featuring Eric Idle, Michael Palin, John Clesse, Terry Jones, David Jason and Denise Coffey the programmes brought together some of the great writers and performers that would eventually create Monty Python.

Great bloke and my favourite writer and actor from that wonderful 1960 to 1980 era of British comedy.

So very sad to hear that lovely Tim Brook-Taylor has passed away. He always seemed so unassuming but was so talented. My heart goes out to his family.
Keep them laughing in heaven with Graham, Marty and Terry.

Terrible news about Tim's passing. Still Premature for me. Loved the Goodies growing up. He was as people have said, a lovely man, very funny, sharp and unassuming. I loved his appearances on "I'm sorry I haven't a clue" over the last few years. One of the best. An important person in the development of British satire /comedy. Rest in Peace Tim.

Watching the show as a boy, I admit that my favorite cast member ( by far ) was Amy MacDonald. This a wonderful interview...thanks for posting.

Fascinating insight in to one of most (if not the most) anarchical, fanatical, maniacal (almost bordering on the psychotic) comedy shows of the time.
    It was brill!

I'd be happy if some streaming service (Britbox?) would bring back The Goodies.

I wonder why he was never asked to join them in Python. Still, if he had, he would not have been in The Goodies (he also has a bit part in the original Willy Wonka).

Yes, he does! And because of The Goodies, I'd think he was minding the computer for Graeme while he and Bill went out shopping for extra Wonka bars (and possibly getting stuck in a queue).

Tim certainly had rewritten Four Yorkshiremen - the whole idea is lifted from a Stephen Leacock piece written around 1910. Cleese was very obviously influenced by Leacock too.

He was one of the elite in British comedy, but in all honesty the Goodies was not his best comedy.
