What's new with the Final Fight?
Music, sound FX, animation, and color improvements. The original release was a disappointment.
Skill grid looks really nice with its art and parallax. Rest just seem like lacklustre platformers or downgraded arcade ports sadly. Not flattering stuff for poor old Amiga
Thans for comment. The Skill Grid is technically great, it just takes practice to know which features are worth collecting. Final Fight is also always good, as is Tetris, especially if you have a friend to play with. 👍
@@retrogamingdino yes. I mean for me it’s not just the tech. I find the art direction really nice. Hope it plays good also. Tetris looks nice as you say.
Final fight for me… to much of a downgrade of the originally for me to enjoy. I mean I know how the arcade, snes and even Megadrive version looks. So I prefer a game that allows the Amiga to shine a bit more :)
Ff not very enhanced it was fully possible to do parralax scroll even back then just look at shadow of the beast
Yes but that was using dual playfield and only 8 colors. Here they have 16 color so it’s done in software instead. I mean one of the reasons beast plays like shit is how gameplay restricted it it due to the dual playfield 8 color restriction. Then again Final Fight still seem to both look and play like shit. I mean why even bother lol
@@igakoga2481 exactly. Although dual playfield mode is not really more processor intense. It’s just that if you use all 6 bitplanes it take more DMA of course.
@@igakoga2481 has the revamped final fight done any changes to the art? One of my main issue of the original Amiga and st port was the color usage. The gfx itself was ported ok but the way the palette is set up sucks
If not I was thinking that might be something I can help out with. As it would just be updating the palette and the graphics it’s not affecting tech at all. Just pure data swap.
Do you know anything about this and if it’s no change who makes those upgraded port and where is it possible to get in contact with them?
@igakoga2481 I've seen parralax scrolling in another fighting game with slightly bigger sprites than FF believe it's Called Fighting Spirit
