My choice for Kamala Harris' Vice President is split between Pete Buttigieg and Josh Shapiro. Pete Buttigieg is my first choice because he participated in the 2020 Democratic Party Presidential Primaries, he has experience working within the Executive Branch as a Cabinet member, and he would not have to give up any Governor or Senator seat in the battleground states. Josh Shapiro is also an acceptable choice for me as he shares some of the same qualities as Pete Buttigieg but with potentially greater appeal among voters of the Rust Belt. Mark Kelly has very respectable credentials, but I think he would be more useful serving out his full term as Senator from Arizona until 2028 or offered a Cabinet post in the Harris Administration.

I think the electorate is hungry for an articulate candidate. With Harris's boost, much of that can be attributed to her ability to communicate complicated ideas. If we are looking for communication appeal for VP, Buttigieg or Shapiro would be good picks. For kind of chill, in the background VPs, Cooper and Kelly are solid choices. Most of all, what's important to people is, "can I trust this person to lead the country." Personally, I think Pete is the most well-known and trusted. He has been on the national stage a lot and has demonstrated his competence. Other candidates would most likely do fine, but they don't have as much experience in the national spotlight. But all of them would be leaps better than the dude named Vance. Edit: on your last point, Shapiro's risk in Michigan is not for him "being Jewish," but his stance on Israel. But I think he can still convey his nuanced thoughts to the electorate, and it may even be a healthy balance with Harris. I saw Nikki Haley's interview on CNN, and she seems to be going for that "Kamala is pro-Iran and bad for Israel" stance. Electing Shapiro would dispel those myths (which don't even make sense to begin with because her husband is Jewish).

Regarding Harris' VP choice, I was initially leaning towards Mark Kelly - his (and his wife's) personal story is truly remarkable. However, weighing everything up the last day or two, I now think Josh Shapiro makes more sense. He can verbally brawl and fulfil the role of being Harris' "attack dog" with Trump/Vance when needed, and he may of course raise the chances that the Democrats secure PA's extremely crucial 19 electoral college votes. As well, with Shapiro as the VP, the senate seat in AZ will not likely be lost in 2026 presuming Kelly remains its senator.

My choice for Kamala Harris' Vice President is split between Pete Buttigieg and Josh Shapiro.
Pete Buttigieg is my first choice because he participated in the 2020 Democratic Party Presidential Primaries, he has experience working within the Executive Branch as a Cabinet member, and he would not have to give up any Governor or Senator seat in the battleground states.
Josh Shapiro is also an acceptable choice for me as he shares some of the same qualities as Pete Buttigieg but with potentially greater appeal among voters of the Rust Belt.
Mark Kelly has very respectable credentials, but I think he would be more useful serving out his full term as Senator from Arizona until 2028 or offered a Cabinet post in the Harris Administration.

I think the electorate is hungry for an articulate candidate. With Harris's boost, much of that can be attributed to her ability to communicate complicated ideas. If we are looking for communication appeal for VP, Buttigieg or Shapiro would be good picks. For kind of chill, in the background VPs, Cooper and Kelly are solid choices. Most of all, what's important to people is, "can I trust this person to lead the country." Personally, I think Pete is the most well-known and trusted. He has been on the national stage a lot and has demonstrated his competence. Other candidates would most likely do fine, but they don't have as much experience in the national spotlight. But all of them would be leaps better than the dude named Vance.
Edit: on your last point, Shapiro's risk in Michigan is not for him "being Jewish," but his stance on Israel. But I think he can still convey his nuanced thoughts to the electorate, and it may even be a healthy balance with Harris. I saw Nikki Haley's interview on CNN, and she seems to be going for that "Kamala is pro-Iran and bad for Israel" stance. Electing Shapiro would dispel those myths (which don't even make sense to begin with because her husband is Jewish).

Regarding Harris' VP choice, I was initially leaning towards Mark Kelly - his (and his wife's) personal story is truly remarkable. However, weighing everything up the last day or two, I now think Josh Shapiro makes more sense. He can verbally brawl and fulfil the role of being Harris' "attack dog" with Trump/Vance when needed, and he may of course raise the chances that the Democrats secure PA's extremely crucial 19 electoral college votes. As well, with Shapiro as the VP, the senate seat in AZ will not likely be lost in 2026 presuming Kelly remains its senator.
Personally, I think that Mayor Pete is the best choice. However, from a strategic stand point, Shapiro makes the most sense. I like Kelly better as VP, but we cannot lose AZ. #ImWithHER #VOTE
