    Saying the GC in session has the final word on doctrine is the same thing as what the Catholic Church says about the infallibility of the Pope, it leaves no room for reproof or correction of those in leadership.

    I love you guys perspective and I do think there should be a round table of reason and discussion between the establishment and people searching and questioning and challenging the “old” ways. Refreshing!!!

      The old ways is Adventism. There is no Adventism lite. Adventists are radical by nature. Daughter of the devil Ellen White would not consider these fools Adventists.

    So impressed with your insightful discussion. The foundation of the problem is the belief that God's law works like human law. God's law is not imposed. Declarations of authority are not from Him. Still suffering the failure of 1888.

    • @caleschnell
      @caleschnell ปีที่แล้ว +3

      On point, brother. Human institutions will constantly seek to save itself by establishing orthodoxy by doctrinal over-correctness rather than heart transformation of the individuals that make up the organization itself. Sadly, immature leadership are following in the stead of Caiaphas who protected the structure of the institution rather than giving of himself to actually defend Christ as high priest and actually heed to what Christ actually taught-design law-how reality works.

    There’s no other way to move forward as a church it’s either Ellen or a complete reformation of the church’s identity. Myles was 100% you need to define adventism or it doesn’t exist.

      100% -- People stay for the "culture" but where in the Bible does it tell us to stay where you're culturally comfortable and forsake the gospel.

      @rayray4192 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@allisonjohnson3453there’s nothing great about the “ culture.” It’s a small group of naive ignorant people congratulating themselves on the choice of joining a religious cult. They see it as joining the last days remnant church.
      Cultists like company. The Adventist movement is madness. Emotionally sick disturbed people in need of deep psychological help.

      Eh, it's really the way in which many present Ellen White's writings-many uphold what she says without question under the auspices of being a prophet of the Lord and thus due to this authority she can do no wrong.
      Yet, Peter who was a prophet himself erred as recorded in the book of Galatians.
      We are to be mature Christians. To discern by practice to know the right from the wrong as Paul says at the end of Hebrews 5.
      Whether that be the Bible or the writings of Ellen White. From what I can clearly tell, she grew and matured -especially as the church apostasized in 1888 when they rejected that the Decalogue was added as a means of diagnosing sin.
      Love Reality is again sending the message of Righteousness by Faith according to the manner in which AT Jones and EJ Waggoner presented it in ‘88. The fact that the General Conference President, Ted Wilson, has criticized their position as to what sin and what the remedy of sin is-shows that Conference leadership will not grow up from the stiff-neckedness found formerly in the leadership of ‘88 of the Conference.

      @@caleschnell Ellen made outlandish proclamations about herself. She was a malignant narcissist, liar and a thief. Adventists aren’t in a church; they win a mongrel dog wannabe Jew religious cult. There’s only one way to present the books that Ellen did not write; she’s the infallible interpreter of scripture and the ongoing and authoritative source of truth who spoke with prophetic authority. Anything else is not Adventism.

      @@caleschnell you obviously don’t know Adventist history. Ellen was a trance medium in the ridiculousness Shouting Methodist cult. As a malignant narcissist she craved attention and respect. Her entire life was a lie. She wasn’t receiving direct revelation from God. She was a literary thief who was paid royalties for books she didn’t write.

    EG White painted the church into a corner when she stated that if you don't accept and keep the saturday Sabbath ,you will not enter the kingdom.She was a remarkable woman and so right on so much,but there has to always remain room for questioning.Currently the Battle Creek,Michigan SDA church if forbidden from holding free dental help,food and cloths givaways,medicine,on the Tabernacle grounds with the reasons given by Michigan Conference as church/state issues.So the congregation has formed a relationship with the Asian community who have their own center,and Adventists are allowed to use thesefacilitys to hold dental clinics,food and clothes giveaways etc.Where theres a will theres a way.Scripture say to reprove ,but not to count them as a enemy,it sounds to me Ted is throwing them to the wolves.

    You are not going to tell me that I can't question a woman who once said that while watching a man who was a mesmerist,that she could feel him trying to enter her mind and that she saw ten eyes coming out the tips of this mans ten fingers.This statement set the tone for mental health as a whole in the SDA church and cast a superstitious outlook that stunted any real progress and growth in our institutions to cultivate this field.We are only now making progress in this ministry of mental health.

    The truth is that for Ted Wilson there's absolutely no room to any other interpretation other than Ellen White's interpretation of the Bible. The wrong interpretation that she has done can't be corrected by her because she is dead. Now if one person takes the Bible as it is, according to his own recommendation, will find that some of SDA interpretation of the Bible don't stand on the Bible alone. He has made abundantly clear many times that whoever opposes his views aren't welcome in the church. For him, there's no room for dialogue, discussion or revision in the SDA church. Bottom line, don't agree then just leave, I guess...

    • @rayray4192

      Daughter of the devil Ellen White pontificated that any rebellion against her is direct rebellion against God. Adventists are not Christians. You must swear your allegiance to a heretic and blasphemer to be an Adventist.

    Thanks for doing these conversations. We are in need as a church to learn well Christian history.. the history that follows the apostles.. I recently learned that many kept Sunday as a holy day to honor the resurrection… what a sec.. this was way before Constantine.. yikes! Also learned Great Controversy has some history misinformation… yikes! But, I am still grounded in Jesus so my faith in Him has not been shaken.

    I agree with your stance on his tweets as it majorly lacks self-awareness.
    Many of us try to double down on "what" we believe as being fully true. As a way of expressing faith with no doubt. This is dangerous because as we see from reading the bible, we often get genuine misunderstandings of the word or God and later get the true meaning, which actually accomplishes God will . Mot from arrogance or old time religion, but the Holy Spirit reveals true truth to the correctly humble.
    I wish we spoke this way more. But it builds less trust in what we are doing, and it makes us seem unsure.

    I discovered you guys when you interviewed Myles Christian of Answering Adventism. I am praying for you guys. I am convinced the SDA has and does teach a false gospel and promotes a false prophet. My prayer is that will become more and more obvious to you and the gospel will become more and more clear to you.

    The three angels message, as the adventist interprets it, is a different gospel than what Paul preached. Repent and turn to the true and living Christ! There's only one Gospel message, and it doesn't include the IJ or the three angel message.

    I listened to his talk and had the impression he leans towards the Last Generation Theology.
    Your interview with Myles, what he was saying as the documented SDA church doctrine being tied to EGW interpretation of the Bible.
    It is a mirage to think what some SDA pastors and leaders preach that is closer to the gospel is what actually is taught by SDA denomination.
    They tolerate some amount of divergence- as long as Sanctuary Doctrine is protected and you bring in money.

    Top left guy talking about deceived and 3 angel message. It seems like a great example of control and manipulation that will haunt you should you even consider another than sda. It's not quite the same as to say there is only 1 way to heaven and that is Jesus and His payment for our salvation. A free unearnable gift
    3am is the example of manipulation and control thru fear and try to paint it so it won't feel like deception.

    Your name, Seeking What They Sought, appeals to my spirit. What is it that human beings seek in giving attention to religion? I feel that your work could be ennobled by first being clear on the main purpose of religion-why it commands such colossal attention of human beings-like you & I & throughout the ages? I feel that unless & until this question is clear, we may be working hard without direction. We can’t fully judge the nature of the Adventist teachings on sexuality, church authority, scriptures, connection to God, & so on. The specifics are, perhaps, best understood in the context of the general. Would you, then, share your understanding of the universal purpose of all religions? Thanks.

    How do know somthing is obviously not the word. Why is Homosexuality a sin, or is it a sin. Should any of our fleshly desires that we can't let go of be given a higher place than the word of God. Can we love God and do this. The answer to sexuality starts with a deeper look a Genesis 1:1-5 and alsoalso the function of the sanctuary. Our sexuality has to do with what we want unless we refuse to deny self. This is part an parcel of the plan of salvation and the first commandent (Have no other Gods before me.)

      All of creation runs of the protocol of self-renouncing love-other-centeredness and giving-thus the procreative act itself is a microcosm of how the Father, Son, and Spirit give of themselves to sustain and support the creation by the laws that life and health are built to operate upon.
