  • In this episode of Battlefield Analysis, I propose a fundamental reimagining of the Battlefield 2 map Kubra Dam, providing a complete a detailed overview of how I would reintroduce this classic design into a modern Battlefield game. Though not explicitly designed with 2042 in mind, some of the artwork shown has 2042 aspects. Take a look and explore my version of Kubra Dam.

I swear, I never seen a bf youtuber go into full details on how a map should look, play, and feel. Love the destruction concept and the idea of finding old maps and how 2042's war shapes the old locations. So far by your content, you almost have unlimited ideas for Battlefield map analysis and upgrade visions. You, Calalyist, and Enders should all work at Dice. You as map designer, Enders as weapon designer, and Catalylist as layout designer. I'm not forcing you to work for Dice, but you sure dam know that your vids if shown to the devs, would help them understand how future maps should be planned and excuted.

It is interesting to watch the videos on this channel, as a Battlefield player who is about the furthest thing from the franchise's target audience (mainly plays offline singleplayer). Which means I am stuck on the Refractor engine Battlefield games, as well as clones like the pre-EA Star Wars Battlefront games and Ravenfield. Provides prespective on how online players play these games. The only Battlefield games I want to try after 2142 are the Bad Company duaology for their singleplayer campaigns.

Very good, the truth is it would be interesting to finalize these types of ideas. I think it could give BF2 and his community a good push to grow. Amazing AI images

I really appreciate the thought you put into this concept especially regarding the unique interactive element. I do worry for this map that with the decreased size and the focus on an interior play space inside the dam, the outdoor sections might not get the a lot of action, especially on the reservoir side. However, only play-testing would really tell the full story. Overall though, this would be a great series to continue on the channel and I hope to see more especially with other underrated or underutilized Battlefield maps.

I think ideas like this are cool because they allow people who didn't play the older games to play some of these really good maps. Sure they aren't 1:1 remasters, but these rework updates can fix problems the original maps had.

even though ive never played the original, i can see how iconic this map was. reimagining while expanding and adapting to modern tech capabilities should be the way to go for all maps that are reintroduced. once again, dice has already too much content to be trying to create new from scratch every time. while brand new is good the proven success of some maps should be re-used and refurbished more often. great vid

Problem is BF3 really "create new from scratch" mentality that long term hurt the BF franchise.
It tried to scratch away the variable-ness and depth of BF2/2142 away in favour of the CoD Audience (still don't forget the E3 2011 MP queue with one dude going "it looks like MW1 & 2 with destruction!!!!!").
Man Late 00s and early 10s FPS design was "popular" but soul-destroying :(.

I wanna play it so bad! This would be great for 2042 has it could fit TDM , 64 and 128 CQ. Would be awesome for McKay and Sundance. Having a classic reimagined and remastered map would be great for this title. Great job

OMG, I beta tested that map. In full size you had a single round that would cover the evening. Flying through the dam was a hoot. I see you added a few Devastation images ;-)
