I had the same situation. The other videos made it look so simple that I thought I’d be done pretty quickly. Hours latter I gave up trying to get the wipers in the right position. Then I saw your video. Super helpful! Needless to say the problem is fixed now. Thanks a ton!

Mate…… I am just as thankful as everyone else is in the previous 50 comments made throughout the years. I just wish I had found your video before trying to re-install. After putting a new motor on (BA Falcon) and reconditioning and reinstalling my seized linkage (which took hours) I thought I was done, until I turned wiper’s on.😳🤯 I had no patience left and had to walk away from it.🙄🤔 I watched this video the next day, Wehla, done in 15 mins.🙇🏽♂️🙏🏻🙇🏽♂️
Man I definitely appreciate this video spent 6-7 hours on a project that would have took a mechanic 1 hour max. Could not figure out how to fix the alignment to save my life this video help me out tremendously
Knowledge is a wonderful thing and being educated today by you has ended a day of pain servicing my windscreen mech. Couldn't understand why it was going so wrong. Thanks again.
Changed the wiper motor on my Mustang and the linkage was eating me up. After several hours of total frustration I finally took the time to look this problem up on youtube. This is the first video I came across and I can't lie, it took me all of 3 minutes to adjust the linkage. I wish I would have looked this up first as it would have saved me a lot of madness. You superstar!! Been trying to fix my daughters Polo- fixed the loose spindle with a couple of spot welds but was struggling to get the wiper coordination correct. Perfect video that solved it instantly- easy when you know how!!!- thank you so much.
Thank you for this the bolt fell off that held my motor and linkage together got that replaced but couldn't figure out why my windshield wipers were kept trying to go down farther from the home position. Not sure why other videos skip this part with the timing spent hours trying to figure it out.
Hey Chris, not sure i understand fully, but i think i have same problem as you did, just bought a new linkage for my old punto, and the wipers keep going further down than supposed to. I’ve tried realigning the arms, but then they are just too high. Did the tecnique in this video fix your problem with wipers going further down, than supposed to? Thanks in advance :)
@@POOHPOOHSMOM18 The linkage had nothing to do with the problem - this video helps if the linkage itself needs to be adjusted. For me, it was only about getting the arms to align properly on my windshield. I talked to a Fiat-specialist, and apparently if you buy brand new pair of wiper-arms, they dont have the teeth for alignment on them, from factory. The arms are made of aluminum, and the teeth on the linkage are made of steel, thus allowing the linkage-teeth to carve new teeth on the wiper-arms. I used fine sandpaper to smooth out the old teeth on the arms, and then mounted them onto the new linkage, and that fixed the issue :) hope this helps :D
Just a note for anyone who has a Chevy Captiva. The alignment is the opposite of what this car is. But thank you very much for the video it did help me out a lot
I'm working on a Kenworth T800 with possessed wipers. Your mention of a "home position" makes me 1000x more comfortable replacing the motor. Now I have something to actually blame instead of feeling like I'm throwing parts at it.

Your video was indeed very helpful because I just installed a new windshield wiper motor on my 09 Ford Crown Vic and when I started up the wiper blades it positioned the blades upward as its home position which clearly was not the right position but I but after seeing your video I figured out how to set it correctly. I didn't know what I was doing wrong or how to fix it, great video thanks.
I have a 2008 Saturn Astra . The wipers work but when I shut them off they stay in the upright position. Not sure how it happened but now I'm going to try to fix it. Looks like this will work
My Skoda Fabia Mk1 wipers park in the wrong position, about 10-15cm up the windscreen. Will this work for adjusting them? Ie do I just push them down to the correct position before unplugging?

Hey I have a quick question, I too have an C5 Audi (not sure if yours is an Allroad or not), would this alignment issue cause the drivers side wiper not to come all the way to the A pillar on the drivers side?
Is there a way to increase the range of the wipers? My home position is good, but the finish position (i e. other end of the range of motion) is way short of getting to the driver side edge of the windshield. It's a design flaw of my model of car.

Hi will this work on every car as my Australian GM Holden commodore wipers on intermittent stop in upright position? In speeds 1 and 2 they stop anywhere on the windscreen? So I have to time it when driving??? Very annoying. Wipers turn continuously when on and click when turning off just in all different positions? Any reply appreciated. I have googled! Asked auto parts stores, auto electrician said: probably the timer which is internal in the motor? If they were somehow re arranged? Then it would be perfect. Any reply appreciated. This vid really helped me line up the linkage with my new motor. I’d neglected to mark the original locations and was flummoxed. Now everything works!

Ok. That's the part I am missing....My wipers kept moving the wrong the direction and knocked the linkage loose when it moved down towards the cowl.
