I love seeing resorts that I have been to many times and really enjoy. Been to the Sanctuary 5 times and every time I love going to the main lobby for drinks or see the Micheal Jackson show at night. I also love the quiet pool and the Gourmet restaurant for lunch is open for Diamond club and Sanctuary. Thanks for this wonderful tour of this beautiful resort ! 😎🏖️☀️

Looking at booking this (Sanctuary) or Memories Caribe Diamond (Cayo Coco) for July 12th. Concern with this place is it looks like a lot of the restaurants etc. are closed down for low season.

Hey Mike. first and foremost thank you for all the amazing videos of Cuba that my girlfriend watch religiously. We are hug fans of you both, and we have a question for you in regards to the Grand Memories Resort in this video. We are frequent travelers to Cuba and were wondering if this resort in the first week of December will be considered "high season" for the extra amenities, and lastly how did you find the bugs. We visited Cayo-Coco this January and my gf got absolutely bitten to death, while I had nothing. Can we expect the same in December or is that still too early in the season.
Heading to Varadero this Afternoon the check out the power supply issues and hurricane 🌀 issues, First week in December the Resorts are still pretty quiet!!! Most people will be saving up for the Week before and Christmas week!!! So the resorts might no be fully operational and booked but you’ll be saving a lot of money during that time!!!! Bugs in Varadero come and go!!! Bring bug spray but if Cuba cools down in December they will vanish I have a ton of content coming out!!! Thanks for watching and supporting Mike

Showing the time-lapse walk to the beach was a great idea. It's definitely a walk for some. One thing I could maybe recommend for future videos? Smoking. I'd love to hear in your opinion what the smoking culture is like at the resorts you visit (We went to a resort in March and my god - I thought I'd gone back to the '80s. Everyone seemed to be a smoker, and here, there, everywhere. Even in the pool and at the reception desk). I don't typically have a problem with smokers (who doesn't like a good Cuban cigar now and again), but it'd be nice to know if you find a resort to be more centrally geared towards that clientele. Smokers would be happy to know, too, if they can smoke freely at certain resorts more than others.
Good question. I think it is a little more free to smoke but we definitely haven’t found one resort more smoke free or more smokers than another. I didn’t find a lot of smokers here but over the years we have found less and less smokers.
Ketchup!!! I think mustard ran out a few times!!! But to be totally honest everything was good!!! I had no issues! Lots of water toilet paper wine and beer
Hello is it true that they don't provide water now at the resort? My co worker went to Cuba on Feb she said they only drop a bottle of water at your room every other day. I hope not.
HOLGUIN, Sol Luna Rio Mares hotel, Lord help me!!!! Spent 2 weeks there first two weeks of May 2024. Zero shrimps, zero bread most days for lunch and supper, even some times for breakfast. ONE PIECE OF CHICKEN ONLY ONCE IN 14 DAYS! No eggs for breakfast 1/4 of the time. As far as meat was concerned??? PIGS FEET AND PIGS SKIN for 10 out of 14 days!!! Disgusting buffet as far as meat was concerned. Had an expensive lipstick and a $20 hat stolen from INSIDE my room. I have been going to Cuba since I'm 15, and I am now retired, so yeah.... COFFEE? They only received 2 Kg of coffee beans throughout the two weeks I was there, instead, they called it coffee but it was actually roasted chickpeas (3 heaping tea spoons in every cup with boiling water, I saw it with my eyes!). As far as a banana daquiry? Bring your own banana liqueur, bring your own canned fish, bring your own Sport Experts dehydrated food, because for a meat eater: it just didn't happen. (PIGS FEET!!! Where was the meat?) Room temperature jello and canned fruit for desert... if I ever go back, I'm bringing more food (I usually bring 30 lbs to give away, but I definately would bring more for myself as I love the beach and safety).
Was there in March 2024, there is a Diamond area on the beach and the rooms are in Bloc 22, 23, 24 situated closer to the beach and which include breakfast and lunch at the Gourmet restaurant.
Can't wait for this video. Grand memories, varadero is a very nice resort, friendly ppl etc. Great place if u haven't been.

The staff sucks wild dogs roaming around scammers in the resort we had 2 towels for 6 people for 7 days

I think the rules for smokers are just more relaxed in Cuba. I don't think it's specific resorts catering to smokers.

I haven't seen that so far in my Travels!!!
When we were in Cuba we had water in our room fridge every day. But we also refilled at the bars if we needed to. Drinking water is plentiful.
