@@dedrasensei Lol really ? It wasn't that hard to get hahaha. I mean i don't play any Pokemon game since i was 10 or so and i still got it. I bet people are focused on other things. Like your beauty, i've seen tons of comments saying "you cute", etc. Indeed you are but what's the point of commenting that thousands of times ? People need to learn to be more subtle. ☺
I got it and rotfl'd! but so much cuteness happened after that the reference was just the first bite of like a double chocolate creme cupcake: amazeballd and then you're drunk on it.
As a black Latina in the U.S. (I look African American) I love eavesdropping when they are talking about me also when I travel to Spanish speaking countries, that is fun. I want to hear about your dating there
I remember being in Japan and hearing people talk about me out loud! They just assumed I couldn't understand them. I tried to ignore it but at some points you feel you're going crazy and want to walk around with headphones! I really envied my friend who didn't understand Japanese and was oblivious to the comments. I suppose the longer you stay the more you get used to it?
Hey Sunny! I've only been here for a month, so I don't know if I'm qualified to answer your question... But it never really bothered me to begin with. Most Japanese people I encounter don't say anything at all, so I've actually come to like it when I can hear what they're thinking! (even if they don't know that I'm listening)
初めまして。I'm glad that you're taking the awkward moments in stride rather than being offended and hostile. I'm sure all of us, when in our own respective country, have unknowingly reacted with some degree of curiosity upon encountering a foreigner. Simply moving past these situations will leave you with more time and energy for other pursuits such as language learning and teaching. You seem to take a liking to dancing. Since Japanese youth are heavily interested in J-pop dance groups, your dance talent should be a good means to engage and connect with your students. がんばって。

I’m living in Kanagawa right now I just married my husband who is Japanese. Of all the youtubers here, you are the most relatable and I love your videos!! Every point you talked about..girl I feel you! 😂
I’m surprised it’s humid there. I thought it’d be too cool. It’s hotter than a “mug” you are SO funny! I really shouldn’t drive & listen to you simultaneously but-you’re the best!
oof I'm thirteen and I have a shoe size of 11 and a half in men's, and my feet are still growing lol. If I wanna go to Japan, I gotta go on a shoe shopping spree in the United States or in Germany (If I move back to Germany) and take a suitcase of shoes to Japan lol.
I’m black and travel to Burma/Myanmar for work. Really lovely people BUT THE STARES 👀!!! I don’t notice it at the hotels but out and about...They even stop me to take photos with me 🤷🏽♀️. After a week of stares, I started doing the bow you mentioned 😂. Love your positivity 😉
Girl! Where are you from originally? Welcome to the real world! No worries you are still growing, shine and let them look! Be a Celebrity and love it! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Well... being able to understand conversations around you has its good and bad sides. I'm a black guy and lived in Japan for a year (from 2015 to 2016). Unfortunately, while I was there, I heard a couple of times people talking about me and considering me "yabai" (negatively), "kowai", etc (all those comments came from teenagers or college students). One japanese friend said it could also be because I usually wear black/dark clothes (perhaps I resembled a yakuza :D). The good side is that, as far as I remember, I never got mistreated or (directly) disrespected while being there. The overall experience was waaaaaaaaay better than in my home country (Brazil).
I have subscribed to your channel. I instantly liked this video. I 😍 😍 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Japan 🇯🇵 🇯🇵 🇯🇵 but I am a dark skin black man from Canada and I do not want to experience racism.
Hey William! Thanks for the subscription! Don't let your race hold you back from trying new things, especially when it comes to travel. I've made nothing but good memories here in Japan. I'm sure you will, too
What did you say at 3m30? You said one of your students (that you didn't know would be your student at that time) said something to you and you responded, but it was all in Japanese and I don't know Japanese :(
I remember in 6th grade some kids behind me saying I was African and I was like "Ummmmm, what am I supposed to say?" because I'm NOT black, I DO NOT speak any African languages, I have NEVER been to Africa. All I got from Africa is an SA immigrant dad whose parents moved from the Netherlands and Austria.
When I first arrived in Japan I was so surprise how much more intense that Japanese are at noticing you as compared to Korea which I spend two tours of duty 87 to 88 and 90 to 91 with Japan bein Jan 92 until Dec 94. It makes you feel celebrity conscience. Many Japanese are much more shy so if they were intensely noticed like that would intimidate them. Me, I just did my best to be a unofficial ambassador to them in their world.
The staring is understandable...not because you’re black, but because you’re gorgeous. I followed first because of that..then the content kept me....どぞよろしくおねがいします。
Honestly i don't mind the staring but touching is inappropriate. I think the female transition is a little harder because of beauty/social differences.
hmmm,... in Japan people do NOT stop in the middle of the crosswalk to talk on their mobile,... complete strangers do NOT ask ' howz it goin'? ' ,... ahem, excuse me, I am American national, clothing in Japan for me is much better (especially Motoki Ginza but also shop at Shimamura),... HUMIDITY!!!! Japan summers are hell on earth, hate it hate it! .... Japanese dialects, this sounds like complete Martian to me (and I'm not even from Mars)

It is not a discrimination that Japanese look at a black, I think that we seems like a wolf who came to a flock of sheep. If you act as a polite dog, not a wolf, no one in the group will mind. This can be said to not only black people, but also big white.
