Hey adventurers! Today I am going give you my Top 5 reasons why you should stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge this year and 1 Reason why you SHOULDN'T! Come with me, I got you, let's go do this!
Stayed at Kidani last month. My first Disney resort experience. We were there for a wedding. Half of us stayed at Jambo and half at Kidani. We had safari views from the balcony. It was absolutely a wonderful experience! Because of airborne food allergies we avoid restaurants. So never took advantage of eating outside our room…but that was not a big problem. I can’t wait to go back! It was a wonderful time. Loved the pool!! Spent mornings till about 2 in a park and then back to the hotel to enjoy the pool and get out of the heat. Would love to have this as my DVC “home”….if only I had the money!
I agree about the one reason you don’t want to stay. We are staying post cruise for a couple days without any park days so we don’t have to worry about the transportation to the parks 🤷🏻♀️ but if it’s a park trip, we ain’t staying there lol
yep! it is a perfect place to do more resort time and less park time...it is at the bottom of the list getting to and from the parks!
Fun! By far my favorite Resort. I stayed at both Jambo and Kidani for a couple of weeks each. If I were ever trapped by a hurricane, this is where I would choose to be. Especially for the food. Thanks for the tour!

I love Animal Kingdom Lodge!!
Stayed at Saratoga springs and spent an eternity waiting for a bus but at the Animal Kingdom the buses were frequent and never to wait at all
Saratoga is not the greatest but I have stayed at AKL 4 or 5 times now (I am actually here doing another review now) and have had the bus problems of very long waits to be recurring but I'm glad you lucked out!!
@@americanvintageadventures I’m not sure how we did lucked out with the new rooms and quick bus service but it could of been that they have monitors outside that give you a heads up up on the time of arrival….marvelous place the AK

Our family loves this resort, it's just beautiful! The rooms are spacious, the restaurants are delicious, & the theming is so unique. We will definitely stay again & always make reservations to eat at Boma when we are at WDW. Sanaa is great too!

Thank you so much! Kindani tends to be more calm but I have to say Jambo...I love that grand lobby and Boma and Jiko are there!
In the Animal Kingdom resort, they have mouthwash (which I guess is an amenity); however, do they provide all toiletries for free? Or would it have been a difference of you buying it from the hotel or having to go to a nearby store (as you did)?
I think Disney World really dropped the ball on transportation. I mean they were really creative on thinking up modes of transportation; however, how they laid out the kingdoms and transportation was a bit of a mess.
So one could get to Magic Kingdom from the Deluxe Resorts: Polynesian, Contemporary, and Grand Floridian by water, monorail, and I think cable car? But then the Kingdoms and resorts further out, there is almost nothing except buses. One would think to find a way to have internal transportation? Then you have safety hazards. From previous videos, they always like putting cable cars over bodies of water for obvious reasons. There is no way to extend the monorail because that would cost money. They cannot dig up more area to extend bodies of water to have water transport. It is almost like one needs to pick a kingdom and stay there and then spend another day at another kingdom. Good way to make money though because you cannot visit all Kingdoms in one day without checking in using internal transportation.
You can get to and from the Magic Kingdom from Grand Floridian, Contemporary, and Poly by bus, monorail, or ferry boat, or by foot and you can get from those 3 to EPCOT by monorail or bus...you'd have to use buses to get directly to Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom park...The Skyliner can be used by guests at Pop Century, Art of Animation, Carribean Beach, and The Riviera to get to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, otherwise it is busses only for those...Port Orleans French Quarter, Riverside, Saratoga Springs and Old Key West have water launches to Disney Springs only-otherwise it is busses...
The 3 resorts on the Boardwalk are easy walking distance to the Skyliner hub at the back of EPCOT so that is available as well as Ferry Boats to both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, and they have busses...I think there is a certain amount of wetlands and protected wildlife that would be super hard to build through but I do wish they would extend the skyliner to more resorts...the best transportation options are for the 3 Boardwalk area resorts in my opinion
@@americanvintageadventures What is a water launch? O_o (picturing like a cannon with water in it and you in it and they just put high pressurized water against your back and shoot you into a body of water at Magic Kingdom).
Lovely resort perfect for a split stay but not for a whole vacation. It's a little to far from everything else for me.
I would tend to agree! There was one night on one of my stays where MK was open for 3 more hours and I talked myself out of going back because of how long it would take to wait on a bus, ride there, and get in from the AKL resort...

I wonder if Disney is with the whole psychological trick. Give them a small plate, they eat one thing at a time; however, their body registers each bite as filling them up and then they will not come back until later. When they come back, charge them another $59.
Oh I think the small plate thing is definitely in place at many buffets in order to make you eat and waste less...
