It isn’t a specific part, it’s the continued listening to the sound that causes the negative effects, listening to the first minute on loop would likely cause more problems than previously thought due to even more extended lostening

What if scp 073 was present when the song is playing. Since his anomaly's ability kills all living plant life within 20 meters. Will no plant life grow?
Hmm. That could work, but SCP-407 isn't completely restricted to growing plant life, it can also grow animal life as well, so that begs the question of what could survive SCP-073's "death zone", and also the question of what is defined as plant life.

@@desertblade1874 depends on the effect. While we don't know the 28 minutes, I doubt it'd be looping of the first minute. So there is no telling whether looping the first minute would have any bad effects without testing it or if you actually need the remaining 27 minutes of the actual original song for there to be bad effects
@@LyCaNid The thing is is that it's not a different effect, both the bad effects and the good effects are the same thing, just to a different degree, similar to how warming up a cold-blooded creature like a lizard using a heat lamp would be a good thing, but warming up the lizard a lot more by setting it on fire would be very bad for it. The video says that the potency of the effect of SCP-407 is tied to how much of the length of the song that is allowed to play, not that the negative side of the effect starts after the 60-second mark, so my hypothesis is that putting the first 60 seconds of the song on loop would have the same effect, just slower, as the effect wouldn't grow exponentially stronger, but rather, would grow additively. The video also says that the potency of SCP-407's effect is also tied to the volume at which it is played, so potentially, even just the first 10 seconds could be dangerous if it was played loud enough.
@@ndt_dynamite2247 Hmmm. Fair enough, I guess it could make sense that way. What do you guess would happen if people were to listen to the song for 60 seconds, stop and go a long period of time not hearing it, and then after a while re-hearing the first 60 seconds? Do you think the effects of the first listening would have time to "cool down" enough for them to not have negative effects on the second listening?

I commented this elsewhere but my idea is that the foundation doesnt want to risk even a possibility of the rest of the song being pieced together, accidental or not. Any item that can cause an xk level extinction instantly goes on the "do not fuck with" list in the scp foundation

My favorite theory on this SCP is that the song is the voice of yaldaboth, a language that's a deviated dialect of the original God herself and that by merely hearing it causes such a catastrophic effect on reality
I think SCP-407 is some kind of future predicting SCP, but at a much faster pace. Eventually plants will grow over everything humanity made and then this fungi will absorb everything

If it can cause rapid cell growth it makes sense that it does not treat cancer because cancer is rapid cell growth. So for a part of the song, it's kinda causing cancer.
I’ve actually incorporated this into one of my ongoing stories, “the Haadis Imperium.” I never explain it, but I do imply that it is a fragment of an ancient song used by the mythical “Precursors” to spread life throughout the galaxy. This “Lifesong” can cause any creature in its vicinity to evolve at a rapid pace, allowing for changes that would normally take centuries to manifest to occur in less than a few minutes, or even seconds. The song itself was never meant to be recorded or sung by anyone other than them, as they were the only ones with the proper vocal organs needed to sing it as intended. If anyone else tries to do so, it would destroy their larynx and vocal chords entirely. When recorded, it doesn’t work as intended, causing rapid evolution without the controlling aspect that the Precursors implemented to keep lifeforms from evolving out of control. The result is something similar to what we see in this video: a wild morass of ever-changing bioforms that are just as harmful to themselves as they are to anyone near them.
They should've tested: 1. If recordings/copies work 2. If so, if a copy was cut down to only around 1 minute, does it still heal all ailments (besides cancer, due to it technecally causing a temporary cancer)
An Idea for a video: a list of major incidents like incidents x23 or worst, if theres to many, maybe a top 20 or 25 of the worst incidents the foundation has dealt with
The first minute of the song should be used as a one time cure for life-threatening & terminal illnesses with regulations made to prevent people from using it more than once within a certain period.
After learning uni biology...this SCP suddenly makes a lot of sense. The other organisms in our body are also evolving rapidly with the song of Genesis that they achieve the hivemind of a primordial slime mold colony and actually grows arms and legs. This would be amazing irl.

So basically the Corruption from Terraria would be an XK-class scenario because it's essentially the scp-407 mold with some hostile entities thrown on top of it And the Crimson is the same thing but it's more of a love child between the flesh that hates and scp-407
Is it possible that the unbridled replication also results in extreme rates of evolution? I wonder what would happen in a completely sterilized room, if the guess is correct then nothing would happen. If that’s the case then some truly interesting experiments could be done with a completely sterilized room except for a small culture of animal cells or plant like cells.
I think the easiest way to neutralise it is to break the casset and fully delete the digital data at came from the song so if the serpents hand did indeed break the tape in two and burned the remains of it when they removed the data of its existence I am pretty sure that anomaly will no longer be able to harm the world unlike the alternative universe
If there able to make a digital copy, I would have edited it to cut it down to just the first minute, and destroy the rest. Bam, instant ailment cure with zero negative side effects or risks
This is kind of like a lot of medecine in principle. In the right amount, its very beneficial. But too much, and it can become toxic, destructive, or even lethal.
the first bit of Genesis and the second bit of Genesis reminds me of this one Abnormality from Lobotomy Corporation that rapidly heals Sanity for a while, then after some time it will rapidly Decrease the Sanity of who hears it.. I think its called Threisa's Music box but i know it cuz it almost cost me a run due to poor planning on my end.
This proves that although Serpent's Hand wanted to free many SCPs, they're not stupid, Especially L.S., they know there are SCPs too dangerous to release onto the world.
I got really sad when the narrator said it wouldn’t kill cancer in that universe I thought I would’ve been able to save my favorite auntie from cancer that took her life
Now this was a really useful video. I'm fond of 407 and have already read about it. I knew the 507 stuff, but that was not so easy to find. So basically the Corruption from Terraria would be an XK-class scenario because it's essentially the scp-407 mold with some hostile entities thrown on top of it
And the Crimson is the same thing but it's more of a love child between the flesh that hates and scp-407
Info graphics show? They sound familiar also as animation
@K - Dot Yeah it's in their about page.
If there able to make a digital copy, I would have edited it to cut it down to just the first minute, and destroy the rest. Bam, instant ailment cure with zero negative side effects or risks
TRUE
Make copies of the original, but as SAFE edited versions.
Though it would appear Serpents hand DELETED all records of it.
Time to secretly download this song to my ex-girlfriend's spotify
This is kind of like a lot of medecine in principle. In the right amount, its very beneficial. But too much, and it can become toxic, destructive, or even lethal.
If u ever stop making these videos I will get bored so don't stop making them
the fact that it can’t cure cancer but that it can cure everything else implies that cancer is also an anomaly
Just cut the song to 1 minute.
the first bit of Genesis and the second bit of Genesis reminds me of this one Abnormality from Lobotomy Corporation that rapidly heals Sanity for a while, then after some time it will rapidly Decrease the Sanity of who hears it.. I think its called Threisa's Music box but i know it cuz it almost cost me a run due to poor planning on my end.
“[She evolved into a] thiccc immobile blob of flesh.” 😍
This proves that although Serpent's Hand wanted to free many SCPs, they're not stupid, Especially L.S., they know there are SCPs too dangerous to release onto the world.
Hi
HIIIIII
Hi
Guten Tag
hello humans
@@mechagodzillaranger649 hola
I love how funded the SCP Foundation is...they just casually swept in & bought the entire building.
I got really sad when the narrator said it wouldn’t kill cancer in that universe I thought I would’ve been able to save my favorite auntie from cancer that took her life
Turning into a plant is the worst way to live/die...
Like that Hugh Jackmen movie...
Now this was a really useful video. I'm fond of 407 and have already read about it. I knew the 507 stuff, but that was not so easy to find. I probably had to go through his extended logs to get to it (IIRC that took me the better part of a day). But I never would have known who Alison Chao was without going through a long night's rabbit hole on the website. I.e., this video saved me a lot of time.
Going through all the info on GOI hub pages without getting sidetracked is a task I'm more than willing to leave to the pros
Whenever I listen to or read something talking about skin stuff, it makes me immediately scared when my skin is itchy or weird...
They should have a separate audio file of the song thats just the first minute so they can use it to heal people
I just wanted to comment not related to this particular SCP, but the whole channel. I love your vids and you're my favourite source for SCP Foundation stuff!
Your storytelling is so engaging, andI love the animation too. Because I'm a huge weenie baby who has had literal nightmares about SCPs, I also like how your videos tend to have a sense of humour. I also like how you cover the popular and lesser known ones.
Keep it up!
