I agree. If each ink color had a trademark strong card like Be Prepared then it would be more fair. But, until that happens, it should be restricted but not outright banned.
As a Magic player, this is incredibly interesting to see which effects are broken in Lorcana for which rates of resources. In Magic, these effects are all there usually for cheaper rates. I know the balance is different, so it’s just interesting to see. If anyone is curious check out the cards: damnation, dryad of the ilysian grove, wheel of fortune, and foot light fiend (there’s nothing exactly like Merlin, but lots of things close. See:blood artist)
Yoooo I’m gonna go check those cards out! But yea, the thing is, the game is still so new for us that eventually, cards that are broken now won’t be as broken in the future due to inevitable power creep. Great point you’re making tho. I have friends who play magic and I’ll ask them about these cards to compare!
Honestly, looking at tournaments, the meta is pretty fair and balanced, I don’t think anything is ban worthy. When Em/St “Lifters” can win tournaments along side with Sa/Ru and Amy/Ru, and Amb/St, the meta is healthy. Steel does feel like the strongest ink right now, but I don’t think banning anything is necessary.
I feel like Be Prepared isn't necessarily a problem right now, it's literally one of the few answers available for Ward characters. However, I would be fine if it was limited. Fishbone Quill is very good, but there are characters like Winnie the Pooh or Belle that can already do the same thing, so I feel like that might be a card that's ignored on a ban list. A Whole New World, and in fact....steel, is very strong right now, and has been since the game released. I think that Steel needs to be reconsidered for power creep, it has the strongest single target removal in the game right now.
I think it's incredibly annoying, as Amethyst is played in nearly every deck that is topping at tournaments. I think that I would be find if it was limited, as it has a lot of value if pared with Arthur and Madame Mim. Overall, it's annoying, and the only real answer to deal with it is removal. @@ImpactTCG
More floaters is definitely what we need need! Just enough to balanced things out a little. It’s so early in the game that it’s bound to happen at some point I hope
Goat is perhaps the only way to have “haste” for questing. I guess items to it too, but you can easily rack up 4 lore from an empty board with goat in the late stages of the game.
Be prepared just needs more answers, more cards in each color for “when banished”. I agree each color needs a themed board clear: Green - return all characters Blue - put all characters in ink well Amber - reduce all character toughness by 3 Amethyst - 🤷 Goat should be errataed, no way to interact, change text to when returned to hand instead of when leaves play that way at least your opponent can remove it.
Shit I think people need to be able to actually buy cards before we start talking about banning anything. This game is less existent than One Piece TCG.
Yes thankfully we are starting to see a ramp up in product finally. LGS are getting them more consistently. But it’s still hit or miss when you go in Walmart or Target 😅
@@ImpactTCG pokemon, Magic, and digimon. But my ideals are because it deprives buyers of certain cards of their spent money. If I spend $ for a decent card, then it gets banned, you've stolen from me.
Dont like Talking about ban and restrict While the Game is this new Lets wait some Sets and maybe next year if some cards still that problematic Talk about it again

100% how I feel

Its the song mechanic that makes a lot of these broken. Imagine free wrath of gods.

Love the points! How do you feel about Goat/bounce package?

be prep is the necessary evil we all need they just gotta make more generic floaters

Yes!!! This is what I want!!! It would go such a long way
goat and rabbti lowkey problematic tho lmao
I see issues with these cards but I don't believe Bans are the answer I'd be more interested in restricting to 2 copies.
Oh yes I agree 100%. More like a semi-limited or limited restriction system!

Banning cards should MEVER happen in any card game
What other card games do you play competitively? I’m curious to know your reasoning

lol lorcana community can't handle a board wipe
☺️

I indeed think it’s technically too early for a banlist. The former yugioh player in me just finds it fun to talk about 😂
