100% with you there. Old school VK is hard to replicate. Despa, Diru, MM, & Gazette were my intro into Jmetal & they have few rivals & set the precedent. These days a lot of themes & sounds are sadly regurgitated. Anyway, thankfully I got to see Despa live before they disbanded.
They barely added their albums to Spotify and was glad that I decided to revisit this amazing band after so many years. This was my jam in highschool and was disappointed to know they disbanded. Came to find out Hizumi started a new band called "NUL"🤔
WHAT? I've just remembered I used to love D'espaairsRay and many years ago I was very sad and disappointed they disbanded, but now you say Hizumi has a new band? I'm gonna start living again hgfhgjhf omg
Many Memories of when I first became a metalhead back in 2010, I still am! just so you know D'espairs Ray, and Dir En Grey will always be my favorite 2 J-Metal bands!!! This is my favorite song from D'espairs Ray btw.
I just hate the fact that D'espairs Ray is gone, all their members scattered.Worst thing is that Hizumi still haven't find a new band.D'ESPAIRS RAY REUNITE!
@MyLifeAsNic I love both to death, and even if you don't like American music you have to admit that they do sound similar. (Although, D'espairsray has been around a lot longer than BVB so technically Black Veil Brides sound like an American version of D'espairsray)
@MyLifeAsNic If they played in more of a metalcore style, this would remind me of Black Veil Brides. But even so, I still think this is unique and very good. It's also kinda nice that the growls dont seem so processed.
Haha I love these people complaining about the comparison to Black Veil Brides. People seem to hear one song of theirs (and it's usually a bad one like Knives and Pens) and then write them off as terrible (hell, people write off ALL American music as terrible). They're actually pretty good, and, as much as you guys hate to admit it, visual kei is kind of like glam rock in Japanese and BVB are glam rock so... Anyway. D'espa are amazing and this is one of my very favorite songs by them
Personally I don't think they sound like black veil brides ( I know all bvb song's but I just found this band They sound awesome though ^^ ) So I dunno' why people are comparing o.O'' BVB is morely (Can't spell them) Motley Crue, Kiss based This band just seems unique to me XD (< in a good way) ^^ ...How did BVB get to be a topic on this video?
Who in their right fucking mind would compare D'espa to BVB (had to actually look that band up after I read the comparison..). Those guys have no bass at all, making the songs very flat, nor do they have any flair for making simple yet profound songs that remain catchy like D'espa. From what I listened, BVB sounded extremely generic with studio-magic vocals.. Oh and on more related news: I'm SAD that D'espairsRay disbanded.. Fan since 2005, saw live thrice. :(
Wait, when the fuck did Black Veil Brides become glam rock? David Bowie is glam rock. Black Veil Brides are emo, and I mean that without being derogatory in any way. That said, please direct me to any of these BVB songs that are comparable to D'espa, because what little I've heard by them definitely isn't. I admit most Japanese vs. American grandstanding is a load of shit, but D'espa in particular has Hizumi's vocals and a lot of sonic texturing that set them apart from just about everybody.
So many memories from this song
So many indeed! glad Hizumi is back with his new band! sounds like despa! ^^

Oh, do you mind telling me the name of the band?
I am too lazy to google 😂💧
Nul. - Xstream
When I listen to them I feel really old...
This album is one of the best albums I’ve ever heard. Coll:set blows the others out of the water.
Sadly visual kei and j-rock will never sound this polished and composed ever again... I miss those days, this generation, my generation.
I agree, I stayed with the older bands, because the new stuff kinda sounds the same.
I miss the days when bands were diverse.
Hizumi came back with a new band! Nul. New video clip is out now! Check it out!!!
mine too... i missed their concert in milan in 2006 and went to RHCP instead... i hate RHCP since then...

This era is over my friend! Never forget it
Still one of my favorite songs!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I miss how jrock used to be. It always hit my heart. ナイトメアは歌ってたネオテニーで、ジュエルの事。 これがV系だよね、どうして世界こうなったの。

Goes so well with it
It should be added to the OST ^_^

A crazy Armored Core FA pvp video brought me here

Yup
Glad that these now obscured tracks, somehow, in some way, attract new fans.
This was the pinnacle of jrock and visual kei. It will never be this good again.
Absolutely right.
Coll:set was and is an album for eternity. I miss them so much, even after all these years.
I miss you despairs boys
SAW them at a Taste of chaos 2008 with mucc. They were amazing. Makes me sad to ever hear that they are no more.
I was there! I think it was in Long Beach CA
I love this song since 2009

It's just not the same without the boosts and gunfire going off.
I see a fellow Raven has already been here.

I came here because of that 3v3 AC4A vid.

They came way before BVB and their sound is nothing alike. LOL This is electro visual kei metal.

:O sexy sexy voice and great song (:
Hehe
@MyLifeAsNic let alone the fact that they were formed in 1999 and not in 2006 like BVB which in my opinion are not that good..

Alright I know it's been 6 years since you commented but where the fuck are you getting "David Bowie is glam rock from"
I actually think that Knives and Pens is their best song, and the intro is copied from Avenged Sevenfold, all their other songs are a bit generic.
