    Thanks a lot for your nice video. Please make a video about the new tax law in Germany applying in Jan 2021 which literally says the maximum amount of allowable loss is 10000 Euro. It's a stupid law which kills trading (at least day trading!). I could not find any good resources about it in english. So a video from yourside would be wonderful. Also discuss about day trading in Germany. You are doing wonderful job. Keep going :)

    One question though - are all this calculations valid also for buy-sell difference?
    For example, I bough some accumulative ETF (no dividends) for 10'000 eur and in a year I sold it for 11'000 and got 1000 gain. Will this 801 eur tax exception works for this gain as well?

    Wait I have a question I am currently using trade republic. I have been using it for like 8 months now. So want to clarify things about the tax. Do I need to personally hand out the tax forms to the Tax Amt or does the app automatically pay that tax and I don’t have to do anything about it. Another thing I would like to know I am a student and sometimes might be living outside of Germany what does that do to my trade republic account?

One question: I am soon to transfer to Germany, and I was wondering which of the listed brokers (or in case others) give the option to trade US weekly options on stocks! Initial investment 10000
    If I made profits of 4000 from selling some stocks. And I lose 2000 from other stocks. In total I have made profit of 2000. So do I have to pay taxes for the 4000 profits I made earlier or it will be counted at the end and I pay for 2000 only? Any inputs would be greatly helpful :)

    • @metogema
      @metogema 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yes you can. you will need to request a so called "Verlustbescheinigung" from Finanzamt and there you can enter your losses, which will be setteled with your gains. This document comes as an addition to the Tax return you would submit for the yes. You need to also know, that each 15th of December is the last day you can request this document. That being said, if you incurred losses this year, you have time to request this document until 15.12.2023. The losses can be also used to clear future gains..

    15% is applied to all counties where Germany has Quellensteuerabkommen, not only with US. But Germany counts only 15%. US take 15% tax on dividends so it's ok. But. i.e. Switzerland takes 35% tax on dividends but Germany still counts only 15% so 35-15=20% are "lost" until you require it back form Switzerland. And then Germany takes another 25-15=10% tax on dividends.

Especially solving the equation part!:P Could you may be throw some light on tax deductions that one can apply for in case of loss incurred trading US stocks. I have a portfolio on Trading 212 and it smashes any german broker by far in terms of features, available stocks and it's 100% free. The account is also protected by FCSC. That being said, the tax work is scaring me out, since I might have to declare a lot of things manually next year, but it's really hard to move from such great platform to something like TradeRepublic (also have an account) or Scalable, that have fees and hidden costs.
    Greats videos btw 👍🏻

    • @Brandevise
      @Brandevise  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not really sold out for Trading 212 because of it also being registered in Bulgaria which has a lot weaker regulations. It’s definitely a model which all German brokers should strive for, but for safety and tax reasons, I’m still more inclined towards a German broker.

      @@Brandevise for now, all Trading212 accounts are covered by FCSC in the UK, up to 85.000£, deposits on a UK bank, shares holdings are done by IB, that has nothing to do with Bulgarian laws, so in general, it should not be a problem 😉

    Nice video. This explains tax liabilities when looking at US and German stocks separately. But what if one had a combination of these stocks?
    When is the taxation calculated? As in you receive the dividends or at the end of the year?
    Because if I received 800 euros of dividends from US Stocks in February and 800 euros of dividends from german stocks in November.
    If tax was calculated at the time of receiving dividends, I would have made 1269 euros.
    But if tax were calculated in end of year and german stocks were considered to fill up my 800 euros first, I would have made 1395 euros.
    That's a difference of 126 euros for someone who's just starting off.
