The low string on the Mele is the tuning that Iz used on his famous recording of “Somewhere over the rainbow.” Koa is such a beautiful wood that creates a distinct mellow tone - for the best Ukulele, I am voting for the one that Brad is playing!
Can you link to the strap you use? I bought an uke from Mele, but I bought an uke from their cheaper line, Maui Ukulele Co. It sounds great, and it is preparing me to buy a nicer uke someday.
Ukuleles originated in Portugal and came to Hawaii in the late 1800s.
I have both a Breedlove tenor and a Mele tenor. For me both have a low G. They both sound great and I use both.
I liked the Mele. It had a certain warmth to it and it really had a distinct Hawaiian sound. Also, enjoyed the sixth Beatle. Well done. 🌴
