Quite frankly I don’t agree with the Fancy cover by Stray Kids. Saying just because they’re men they can’t cover girls songs is just rude and ignorant. You gave great criticism before with the Tomboy by Wei cover when you said they changed the lyrics to fit them when it’s a song about female empowerment, but the Stray Kids kept the same lyrics, did the dance, the vocals were good, and they were coordinated. So it wasn’t horrible and saying that men need to stop covering female songs is stupid. When it is done right, nothing is wrong with that. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

Fancy and Psycho were amazing!!! They honestly did amazing! In Fancy, Stray kids did not change the "girly" moves to a more "Masculine" one, and they covered it with the same vibes. It was honestly really cute. And the same goes for Psycho. All of them suited the song, and they did great. The total vibe of the song was perfectly captured and executed. The "boy with love" cover by SKZ, NCT dream and Jang Sung-Kyu wasn't bad either. I thought they did really well. Itw as quite fun to watch.

It's clearly not the song for his texture and power of voice! Okay I agree with most of these, with the notable exceptions of Psycho and Fancy. Psycho was clearly autotuned, either in post or live, but I still think it was a solid cover by a group of men who did the concept and message of the song some justice. In particular I think Sanha was a perfect fit for Psycho. Fancy was the exact kind of cover most people want when they talk about how male idols should cover female idol songs. The vocals were in their own range, there wasn't any crazy rearrangement, the choreography wasn't changed. I think it was a good cover. Nothing special but nothing horrible either. Neither of these covers committed the cardinal sins in my eyes, which is taking away the core concept/idea of the song . Heechan's cover of MITM took away the sharp femme fatal ideal of the choreography and era, the dkb cover did the same thing to snapping, and Wei changed the lyrics to contrast with the original songs message. I respect that they might not be it for you, but I really do think that the Fancy and Psycho covers are more like what we should strive for in men covering women

Honestly, for me, at least, the psycho cover was fine until hyunjin sang. He's not terrible, and he's improved since then, but it reallyyy wasnt my taste. So much criticism for no reason - it's a cover for a reason, it's not supposed to match the same originality or be the exact same as the original song. MOST covers are LIP SYNCED, and that's expected. It isn't their song, and MOST of them are for one-time events which is why they aren't expected to sing live. It's only happening once, and it's not their song. Simple as that to sum it up, and instead of putting them down, maybe just try to be supportive and not find every small thing you can to downplay what these idols go through and their hard work. I agree that some of the covers weren't the best, but christ, it isn't the end of the world.

Sometimes, I do think changing the way a song sounds to fit your own group doesn't always work in K-pop. Sometimes, having g people appear more masculine or feminine instead of covering the song the way the original was feels biased. Some covers tht girls do for male are good. My favorite covers are Stray kids>Ateez>TXT>BTS Kara>Snsd> red velvet

Neither of these covers committed the cardinal sins in my eyes, which is taking away the core concept/idea of the song . Heechan's cover of MITM took away the sharp femme fatal ideal of the choreography and era, the dkb cover did the same thing to snapping, and Wei changed the lyrics to contrast with the original songs message. I respect that they might not be it for you, but I really do think that the Fancy and Psycho covers are more like what we should strive for in men covering women

So much criticism for no reason - it's a cover for a reason, it's not supposed to match the same originality or be the exact same as the original song. MOST covers are LIP SYNCED, and that's expected. It isn't their song, and MOST of them are for one-time events which is why they aren't expected to sing live. It's only happening once, and it's not their song. Simple as that to sum it up, and instead of putting them down, maybe just try to be supportive and not find every small thing you can to downplay what these idols go through and their hard work. I agree that some of the covers weren't the best, but christ, it isn't the end of the world.
