i can attest to this. I saw Darrel at Street Sounds in Brooklyn a few years ago for "Gretsch Day" and no shit he had a Peavey Delta Blues on stage with him and sounded great.
I am very torn between the Delata Blues and the Classic 30. The problem lies with the fact that i (attempt) to play all styles fropm old country/rockabilly, but then I like to turn around and play classic rock and swing on into metal. Too many types of music. Can anyone give me some insight and opinions on which one to go for. Might help to throw in that my primary sounds I like are old Aerosmith, BOC, Zeppelin sounds
+Ricky Bobby You and I play very similar types of music, though I do range on into solo jazz guitar. I am looking at the delta for me next amp because I can get that kind of range out of it. One thing that I should say is that I am currently playing through a Jet City 20 watt head with a laney 2x12 cab. That head is known for being a pretty heavy gain amp, but it makes you realize just how much your hands contribute to sound. Lightening up your attack on a clean channel, even when pushing the pre-amp section and turing the guitar volume to 5 will typically clean up perfectly. This is actually the test I do when looking at an amp. Can I turn the volume on the guitar up to 10, play with a strong attack on get some bite out of the clean side and then back off and get it to clean up. This leaves you with all the second channel to get the heavier tones for classic rock. One caveat that you have to consider. Eq settings going from a nice warm jazz tones to a traditional zep type sound are quite different. And the ability to switch eq setting via a footswitch isn't going to be available. Something to consider during a gig. Good luck and have fun!
Yep all tube. the only solid state is in the reverb circuit. The same basic circuit is used in the Classic 20, 30, 50 and Delta Blues. 3 12AX7 preamp and 2 or 4 EL84s in the power section.
You know sweet fuck all. Peavey USA made in Merridian Mississippi were top notch!!! There's a reason Peavey is on just about every stage I've ever seen. Quality!!!
To be fair, he could make anything sound great...awesome player..

99% of all Peavey gear sucks, but these Delta Blues amps sound like a boutique amp.
LIBERTYLATENIGHT * I think you're wrong ... 99/100 Peavey speakers suck, but every now and then you get a dog which turns it to be great !
Uhhhh lets see, worlds best solid states, best tube amps for the money, great PAs, not too big on the intruments..._
Cool opinion. Too bad it's misinformed. Corksniffer😂😂😂
