I lived in Portland for six years, and got so used to multiple bins (food waste/compost, recyclables, and trash) that when I first moved back to California, where I lived the rest of my entire life, I spent the first few weeks confused as to how to throw my trash out because there was only one bin.
Pretty simple. Just dump everything in 1 until it overflows and if you have more leave it in your friends car or at the front of a store. Hope this helps!

Now green bin forced to pay for even if sharing with a neighbor Blue bin for some recycle items grey bin for land fill and many resent non recycle items was recycled before . No option to share with a neighbor reducing big truck stops this is California some counties can opt out of green bins .
