My PB for a 5km is 34:48. I am quite proud of that as I am still working on losing weight to get into better shape to run further and for longer. Speed isn't as important to as the distance.
I am happy that you're able to enjoy running again.

Haha.. I genuinely had not a clue what was possible.. felt like a beginner runner again in terms of thinking, rather than pace! Hope all your half training is coming along well for that 1:12ish! You can do it!

i beat my 5k PB today! beat my record from when i was 15 (6 years ago) when i ran a 18:41 and today i ran a 17:59! beyond chuffed. sub 18 was my goal for the end of the year, didn’t expect to get it this quick after 6 weeks of good training. all the best Ben, good to see you getting back to fitness

Ben takes 10 weeks off and he still runs it 1 minute faster than I can. I will have to take consolation in the fact I am 15 years older. Well done. Broke my leg when I was young certainly never want to do that again.

Result: knee pain. I know I am an idiot, but I will watch more of your videos, especially warm-up and stretching. BTW got the cheap Garmin Forerunner 45 and happy with it, I don't need more.

+1 for the 1080v10, they are the best easy run shoe I’ve ever used, nothing else I’ve tried has come close. I can’t seem to improve much on my 5k PB of 19:55. I worked really hard to run a sub 20min 5k but have since been focusing on bringing my half marathon times down so I feel I’ve neglected my speed work, although my fitness has definitely improved in the last few months it doesn’t seem to reflect in my 5k time!

Nike have 30% off online on everything. I got peg 36 x 2 for €120 including delivery. When I come back from an injury it is always the head that takes a few runs before I can move on but a TT is always good to put a line down where your fitness is. Keep it going as won't be long before you are getting close to your previous numbers

Can you review the New Balance 860? I've tried fancier shoes but I keep returning to these as my go-to pair.

Seeing this guy gives me hope....anyone how old he is though...I suffered my first foot fracture a few weeks ago but I'm 38 and am wondering if I can recover as quick. Fortunatel my podiatrist said only 3 weeks in the boot and when I asked if I could run my half in December he seemed optimistic. Any comments on this would be most helpful!
