Karma is the result we attain from our conditioning by the three modes of nature ( goodness, passion, and ignorance ). Krishna says in the Bhagavid-gita: " O son of Bharata ( arjuna ), know that the mode of darkness, born of ignorance, is the delusion of all embodied living entities. The results of this mode are madness, indolence and sleep, which bind the conditioned soul. He also says: " the mode of goodness conditions one to happiness; passion conditions one to fruitive action; and ignorance covering one's knowledge, binds one to madness." Krishna himself defines karma when he says in the gita: " actions pertaining to the development of material bodies is called karma." He explains this when he says: " when one dies in the mode of goodness, he attains to the pure higher planets of the great sages. When one dies in the mode of passion, he takes birth among those engaged in fruitive activities; and when one dies in the mode of ignorance he takes birth in the animal kingdom." He defines inaction in action wrongly inaction means that when one is engaged in his constitutional position as a servant of krishna such service is on the absolute platform and therefore the devotee accrues no karma for such activity because such activity isn't being conducted by the three modes.

Thank you Acharaya Murali ji for beautiful stories. It was really helpful and divine.🙏
If I may, would like to add a thing from the story of kaushika and slaughterman.
Since Kaushika was doing his spiritual practises, even though with pride, he was able to get self realisation by slaughterman because that is the beauty of spiritual practises.
So it didnt go to waste or is not a waste to koshika as he was able to realise what his Dharma Karma was i.e. serving his parents and he too then got moksha.
Acharaya ji has beautifully narrated the story and many poeple must have already got the point that i am writing from the story but I am writing as I am amazed at the beauty of this life. And such stories are a proof of beautiful life.

Karma, Dharma, Yoga, Guru, Mantra are the Indian/ Hindu spiritual phrases popular to western audiences. Each of these words is multi-layered and multi-dimensional. There are many more such phrases; each of these words can take a life time of study, contemplation and practice. Each such word is but a mere window to Self-Realization.
If you wish to learn more, the best method would be to seek a guru/ teacher in the Indian tradition who can assess your spiritual status and guide you to your path. Alternatively you can start reading a few Indian/ Hindu tradition books. Your best option outside of India may be to approach a Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre close to you. Please see the link below: www.vedantany.org/branch-centers/2010/8/14/ramakrishna-vedanta-centers-in-the-west.html

Very good story teller and nice video. This is supposed to b unveiling the “secret of karma”, but various questions arise. We know abt Gautama Buddha who, on the call of God, left his palace secretly (without even telling his wife) leaving her and a newly born to fend for themselves. Swami Vivekananda, left her mother and two little brothers, while they were starving, to follow sanyasa. These r contradictory to the essence of this story, owing to which people wud rightfully consider that one’s Karma or Duty is more the understanding of the Divine Will at a given moment for a given individual (which is, of course, undoubtedly extremely difficult to grasp) rather than any Universally acceptable Karmic Action in its absolute finality under any situation. For clarity, it may further b elucidated to b a matter of relativity (as opposed to absolutism) based on the time, the individual and his Consciousness/Destiny.
Also, many may agree that, against this backdrop, the conceptualisation of “Nishkama Karma” in the Gita may also b reqd to b fully understood.
The statement that “to feel the Divine Presence” in all one’s actions seem to b the core principle of the soul’s joy.
But more difficult seems the answer to the question….How to graduate to that lvl ?
Further knowledge on these issues wud b greatly welcomed, so that, armed with that knowledge, we can all tread that path towards Universal Joy.

This whole concept of escaping the cycle of 'Life and Death,' seems a little redundant, for lack of a better word. Surely, God in all his greatest designed this cycle, so to say, in order for us to experience, learn and realise certain things. Whether that is realising more about love or honour or having a sense of morality, life and death, seems by virtue of design, a mechanism by which we spiritually, emotionally and physically, and perhaps in many other dimensions. The way you describe is like life is an imprisonment that karma is keeping us in and we need to find the secret answer to escape this prison of life and death, but then to what end and go where? What if the next incarnation or dimension is another perceived, self-contained prison for us, then we would want to escape that too, and where does it end? Is this really the truth about God's reason for our existence? Wouldn't that make God some kind of tyrant who never offers true liberation of the soul? Or perhaps we have the power to CHOOSE. Perhaps, an unconditionally loving God would give us the ability to create in terms of manifestation our own Karma and destiny. This whole concept that we are merely tools of God, seems very Orwellian in the sense that we are controlled puppets that have no real say in our live's or existence and we simply have to accept whatever circumstances, God supposedly bestows upon us, since he is the doer and we are simply tools. I mean that for me just doesn't add up. Why free choice, why are we not androids following subroutines. What's the point of the whole charade then? I urge people to think about the truth of nature of God and the universe and whether we are really in some prison dimension that keeps repeating until we find the magical answer to Karam or we have the power to create our own karma and destiny, which seems like the true essence of creation. The reason we are assigned roles is that God has given us the freedom to choose what we may. So is life a prison, where we are trapped in a vicious cycle or is life freedom, in the sense, we can make whatever we wish by our desires, deeds, thoughts and actions? Food for thought people, food for thought.

I urge such condescending people like you to develop more background knowledge of Vedic culture and spiritual life before trying to comment and show your ignorance of basic truths. To see the whole picture, to see how all the pieces of the grand puzzle fit together, you would need to build your knowledge step by step through the right sources and books and people. You would then understand the Divine play and how the worldly matrix of karma, cause and effect, is in effect, a prison or an illusion, which one must continually go through, until the basic truths of life and karma are learnt and put into practical effect. Seek the truth and it shall set you free. Or else you will be forever imprisoned and enslaved in this matrix created by the desires of the mind and senses, which will keep generating more binding karma and keep you perpetually in bondage to evils of ego, mind and this illusory world of the senses.

@@07sushy Ignorance?? I'm not ignorant, in fact, I tend towards spiritualism. All I'm simply saying is that is does not make sense for life to be a prison the way it's described as the endless cycle of 'Life and Death.' I'm not being condescending at all. Am I missing something?? Did it not sound like the guy in the video was saying we're pretty much trapped in this cycle and have to break free. Well, what if we had the choice to be free in life through manifestation and sheer will to create the life we want. That is my point and it's in no way ignorant. The fact that you have not countered with an argument which logically dispells what I am saying, to me, is highly ignorant and condescending, with all due respect.

@radhenitsri I'm not an atheist. Just look around and you will see intelligent design everywhere, the hallmarks of a great designer, we call God. It would be ignorant to think this universe just randomly created itself and has no definition or meaning. The fact that we were given desire and can be inspired in life is a great thing and not something that should be termed 'illusionary.' Inspiration is from the highest source. Inspiration for music, for art, for science, for maths, you name it, there's a real purpose for it and why do we have to perceive it as some kind of prison of the mind. Maybe the real matrix is living in fear and not going for what you really want it life.

    • @nealsabel7105
      @nealsabel7105 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@07sushy Maybe the real matrix is living in fear for the rest of your life and not really going for what you want in life and fulfillng your desires and being inspired. Wouldn't that set you free. It certainly would set me free. That's no illusion my friend. Why we should perceive desire and inspiration as a prison is not the truth. God gave man and woman desire and inspiration to unlock true potential so man and woman could build a great world. Without inspiration or desire we would all just sit under a tree and do nothing with our lives. Contribute nothing, make nothing. That would be the real prison.

@@nealsabel7105 The problem with this world is not God, it's the people. Earth is a magnificent creation, as was man at one time. Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life, no man comes to the Father except through Him. Start at Acts 2:38 and study the Holy Bible and you will find all the answers you need. The kingdom of God is within us if we submit ourselves to our Creator fully. Draw nigh to Him and He will draw nigh to us. May He truly bless you and keep you and His face truly shine upon you. He is a good story teller But for things like spiritual growth I listen to the supreme pontiff of Hinduism Nithyananda. He liberated me from karma when HE explained exactly what it was without the mystified version. Karma is nothing but your thought patterns being repeated in your day to day life and in reincarnation. The cosmos only records the audio version of your thought patterns, it is not a VIDEO recorder. Cosmos/universe does not video tape action!!! In health wealth relationships your thought current or pattern is being played back to you. Karma can NOT be changed or your thought pattern cannot be changed it can only be discarded. This is the truth about karma and how this reality works in dealing out what you put out!!

Day by day the glory of his success increased... why such people are not punished according to their karma...? sometimes i thought this karma principle is made only for poor people...please explain me what is karma principle really..!

I got confused now,, the ultimate aim is to realize god in self.. And I heard karma is only inside maya once we realize the ultimate karma is of no effect..If we keep on doing duty wat ever seems correct at that point when will we try to achieve liberation and also many are doing their duty properly but not self realised , and if that's so.. Why did we get karma in first place!

Sir/Sajjan/Gurudev, must admit that you have an excellent style of storytelling.... I was having one question .... you said the happiness or suffering in ones life is because of karma probably the past karmas....
But any human on earth in some way or other is related linked to someone else.... It is seen many times that one is going through the happiness or suffering due to karmas of other person related to him.... Without his karma being coming into picture.... For example the son is facing the suffering or happiness due to the karmas of father or mother or uncle or....then how do you explain this situation....
I don't know whether i am able to explain my question.... I am not very good at writing
