It turns out that there are a lot of strict rules when it comes to professional women’s tennis. Just ask star player Serena Williams who has broken almost all of them at one point or another! Many fans felt her being penalized for the dress code was unfair, but when it comes to unsportsmanlike conduct she has some marks on her record there too! Alize Cornet found herself in the middle of a considerable controversy after quickly changing her clothes courtside, and Simona Halep has some strong feelings on how many breaks players should get during a match. Are some of these regulations making it tough for people like COco Gauff to be their best or for stars like Victoria Azarenka to get back on the court after an absence? Heather Watson has been penalized for uttering “audible obscenities” while Petra Kvitova got in trouble for celebrating during her match against Ash Barty a little bit too loudly. While some stars have had to pay huge fines for their actions, many fans believe Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova got away with too much during a match against Sloane Stephens.

The rule restricting tournaments for really young players is a good thing. We've lost too many players to burnout, because of too much too soon.

Except male players don't get penalized when changing their shirt. IMHO, this rule should be removed, or allow extra time for women when they need to change. If some people get offended because they think they saw a breast, it's this some people's problem, not the tennis player's.
@@pbezunartea As long as they remove their shirts when are in the bench is OK that is the rules. The incident mentioned on Alizee Cornet was in the court, that awarded a warning.

This is so typical then you can take off a shirt at any time when you’re playing a sport but if women just try to adjust the shirt they get a warning or something bad will happen this is so unfair or equal in the same way
In real football you get a red card for taking off your shirt.

Please, read the rule or at least watch the video again. It's not sexiest at all. She's changing her clothes at the bottom line, whereas the rule says that both male and female tennis players can change their clothes at the player chair. Moreover, in the video footage, men are changing while sitting or in the player chair section.
We all have to live with rules that we may not like in our jobs (and our every day lives). If tennis players and other athletes don't like specific rules, work to change them, rather than just flagrantly violating them.

Time rules all came around because of Television broadcasts. They want to be able to have the match fit nicely into a standard broadcast schedule. Baseball started a pitch timer to speed up the game at the request of Television broadcasters.

men and women will be penalised for coaching. both will be penalised for breaking racquets. both will be penalised for swearing. dont act as if women are being marginalised
As you presented it several of those rules are unisex so no real attac against specifically women players.
Basically all of those rules apply to the men too
dress codes 1:03 and taking shirts off 6:25 (with bras underneath) usually target women.

These players are only allowed to play if they agree with the rules. They know the rules before play begins. The server decides the "speed" of the game as long as they don't exceed the play clock. If I was serving and noticed my opponent wasn't ready, I would serve. Just like the hurry up offense in football.

Fair except I don't agree with a couple things bathroom breaks food or delaying a game if athlete is sick or under growing surgery or chemo and they have to do something like a banana to keep their stamina up. As far as the bathroom breaks that's insane I don't care what you do for a job even if you're an athlete you need to be able to go to bathroom if you really need to go to bathroom like if you are on your period or you're about to throw up or you have to do number one or number two. It's always disappointing to lose a match but it's no reason to strike out at others or on your own equipment I think those rules are good.

Women dress attire for tennis is pretty loose fitting. I don't see why Serena needed a suit to prevent blood clots. If anything it looks like it may actually cause blood clots.

Why is it too strict to ask you not to abuse rackets or swear on tv? The time limits are to ensure games aren’t day long things. And yeah, delays matter because of the sun (much harder when it’s in your eyes.)
