'Comfort is the one thing that you can't find by looking for it, but if you look for truth, you might find some comfort. If you persist in looking for comfort, you will find neither comfort or truth.' Oh, how absolutely correct!!!! This a truth kept hidden, but when you find it, it is pure as golden light.

+Carmen Micula Thanks Carmen. I do enjoy doodling them for you, and others like you. I would have loved to have had something like this channel when I was a teen, explaining the hard stuff simply. So it's a great joy to find others, of all ages, loving it too.

I just subscribed. My wife and I love this channel, we use it with our evening devotions. Pleeeeeeaaaaase finish the Screwtape letters.
In case you ever have a face-on-keyboard moment, what you are doing here is meaningful and valuable. You are taking the complex works of a brilliant theologian/philosopher/storyteller and making them highly engaging for regular folks. This side of eternity your work will never receive its fair due, but keep hanging in there anyhow. TH-cam needs more people like you.

Mr Lewis hats off to your wisdom your intelligence , 26 years ago I sobered up , by finding the truth what's wrong with me ,in this video you summed it up, plus every time I read a book on psychology the author bring up your name what you quoted on bad behaviour which was brilliant, now 26 years later I find you on TH-cam , 10 minutes you described my life 56 years you are definitely a wizard or keep it simple , gifted from God, R I P IN HEAVEN I AM SURE GOD ENJOYS TALKING TO YOU SINCE HE CREATED YOU , LOVE... AMEN

Lewis' introduction of christianity through morality is superb. It is universal, intuitive, intellectually honest and at the same time it catches the necessary realizations to start building a real faith in God.

What a brilliant mind CS Lewis had and he knew exactly how the atheist reasoned, being one himself before coming to faith in Christ. One should share this with unbelievers of intellect. Will give them food for thought and hopefully show the stupidity of "not believing in an infinitely intelligent Being who created with precision.

To be honest, it really isn't a great advertisement for Christian logic, especially if you believe in evolution.
Feelings like guilt and ideas like "right" kept our ancestors alive when there was simply no time to argue about which race was superior, which gender, etc. You had to survive, and the only way you were going to do that was by being accepted in the group. You generally weren't accepted if you were an immoral asshole. Hence, morality was born. You see this in animals too. Prey animals especially, but even some predators like lions that stick with families.
Things generally are compelled to help others of its kind to stay alive because that's the only way the species goes on. We are no different. The reason it's easier now to be an asshole than ever is because we no longer have to rely on our tribes to keep us alive.

@@CarlsCozyCorner Lewis answers that question here: th-cam.com/video/LqsAzlFS91A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TpjFiXmr8CPErzqB (Half way through video)
"Some people say that though decent conduct does not mean what pays each particular person at a particular moment, still, it means what pays the human race as a whole; and that consequently there is no mystery about it. Human beings, after all, have some sense; they see that you cannot have any real safety or happiness except in a society where every one plays fair, and it is because they see this that they try to behave decently. Now, of course, it is perfectly true that safety and happiness can only come from individuals, classes, and nations being honest and fair and kind to each other. It is one of the most important truths in the world. But as an explanation of why we feel as we do about Right and Wrong it just misses the point..."
That survival theory is also debunked here in this doodle: th-cam.com/video/l_VYCqCexow/w-d-xo.html "Some of the letters I have had show that a good many people find it difficult to understand just what this Law of Human Nature, or Moral Law, or Rule of Decent Behaviour is. For example, some people wrote to me saying, ‘Isn’t what you call the Moral Law simply our herd instinct..."

But this is my favourite channel. But it is the best channel of its type. But then again it is the most meaningful combination of text and pictures I've seen on TH-cam. But that's because of the brilliance of the sketches. But that's because the words are so well chosen by Lewis.
    But I subscribed anyway.
But I just thought I'd add this: no ifs, buts or maybes. But I don't know why I am writing so poorly. But I don't usually add irrelevant words.
