4:26 Very good video!! But how do the sponsors pay me? I sell "advertising space" in my newsletter for the sponsors. Is it directly through the newsletter sites like substack, beehiiv etc. or do I have to do it externally like stripe? What is the process here then? Are there any helpful tools for this?
Awesome questions!! Planning on creating a video all about this soon. Sponsorships generally require a little more effort. You need to pitch to brands with your pricing for a spot in your newsletter then invoice them accordingly. Some platforms like beehiiv (maybe sub stack too?) are starting to build ad networks which is more of a, choose which ad you want to include and we’ll pay you based on how many clicks your ad gets. Hope that helps 👍🏼
Hi Kate- thanks for this. It was incredibly helpful. I had some fundamental questions about the actual email newsletter. Do I put the articles on the actual email newsletter? Or do I put a sample and a link to the full article I’ve written?
It’s totally up to you how you format your newsletter! I’d highly recommend subscribing to some of the popular newsletters so you can see some examples of what’s working.
Thank you! Everyone keeps talking about this but what’s the difference between a newsletter business and a regular email list? How come all the bloggers aren’t doing this model if they already have an email list?
It’s the same thing, you’re just monetising your content rather than relying on it to convert into your products/services. A lot of bloggers are moving into this model!
Nope! The benefit of having one though is that you're able to build credibility and SEO , however you can easily get started with a platform like Beehiiv with none of that! bit.ly/3qmOOnd
Wait... Those stats for Instagram and Facebook were for impressions or views? Where did you get those statistics? Those are crazy numbers. I wonder what kind of click through rate you get on a call to action on those platforms.
Why are you all talking about this business and how easy it is to make millions instead of not wasting your time and making it yourself ? Seems like a beautiful story to tell to your audience and nothing more
I wonder this about every single youtuber teaching others how to make money from something. If they are so successful at it, their time would be better spent on their actual business.
You explained this VERY WELL thank you!
Underrated channel !!!, best of luck for the future
So how do you set up one?

In the newsletter, have a section saying "want to work with me? here's how" then link to your services.

Social media is wildly ineffective! I think the stat was from hubspot and it was about reach what ever the Instagram algorithm does to determine this.
Mhm, ok, cool cool,... aaand it was all an ad for Beehiiv. Thanks for wasting my time.
Hey do you want to start a newsletter I got an audience !

You mis-spelled "ton". The word does not have an "e" at the end.
Where you from Australia or America?
This is the last thing we should care about
