    If I had the disposable income for this I'd come buy it right now. 30+ years later and I still love these cars, especially this one.

    I have one of these sitting in my garage with just under 50,000 km¨(31,000 miles) on the OD. red with a tan interior, black rims, all original, never winter driven garage stored. I must say I like the leather seats in your car. I ordered cloth, not liking how leather feels in hot weather, but the leather seats look wicked! The cars are fun to drive and with the WS6 suspension they handle surprisingly well in the turns. Whomever buys this car will have a great little car.

    Looks great. As an aside, if you ever look at buying a 1984 Fiero, run away. The 4 cylinder engine block was used as part of the chassis and the point on the block was thin in that spot. Eventually, the spot on the block cracked and oil would spray out of the block through the hole and the car would likely burn. In 1985 they made that part of the block thicker and stronger. I have seen 2 Fieros for 1984 burning to the ground on the Interstate. I just found a 1988 Fiero GT V6, 5 speed, in Black that has 35000 miles on it, garage kept, never driven in winter. Has perfect cloth interior, no leaks, $5000.00. Buying it tomorrow. The old man puts it on the lawn about twice a year, but usually keeps it hidden. He took a deposit on it last year and the guy didn't come back.

    My son bought a 1985 when he was in college, and it lasted about 2 weeks before it wouldn't roll anymore. Guy he bought it from disappeared, and my son ended up selling it to someone for $100.00. He fixed it and still drives it today.

    what most don't know is that this GM used the exact same method that BMW was using to make the BMW M1 I believe a few year later. The construction methods made it the most accurate panel application ever used in production. the car can have all its panels removed and driven with just the subframe.

    Here in the UK these fieros are petty much classed as a joke and only ever used to build kit cars, so I'm struggling to understand why all of a sudden I fancy owning one if it can be as nice as this.

    That is one sweet GT.
    I've found several 1987-1988 GTs for sale in the northern states, NY, NJ, MA, PA, IN, IA. I would be concerned about corrosion because those states use salt on the roads in the winter.
    Is this a valid concern?

    • @vanguardmotorsales
      @vanguardmotorsales  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. That is a very valid concern before purchasing you should take a good look at the underside to make sure the owners kept it in good shape.

    • @ussling
      @ussling 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vanguardmotorsales Well thanks for the reply. That is something I do when I give a used car the thorough once over before purchase.
      It would be nice to find one without corrosion.
      Doesn't seem to be many Fieros for sale in the Southern or western states where rust is not a problem.
      Having said that, I did find one in Colorado.

      If I may ask another question, look at pictures 2, 3, and 4. The nose is a darker shade of white than the sheet metal. Is this indicative of an accident? In the description, the car was repainted in 2014. Maybe those things are red flags.
      I can't afford a 1981 Ferrari 308 GTBi.

    • @vanguardmotorsales
      @vanguardmotorsales  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I Remember correct the front end of these Fiero's were plastic? The plastic front ends on a lot of 80's and 90's cars got discolored extremely fast in the sun. To me looking over the pictures it looks like thats the case but make sure to look over the car extremely well before purchasing! Good Luck!

    Still a great Review of a Fiero GT, now we all know what a Great Looking Fiero Should look like.... I had a Fiat X/1-9 in 1977 until 1987 as a Daily Driver, nice but not a Fiero!

    Impressive. The previous owner much have had OCD and genuine appreciation.
    Unbelievable when you have the mind set of repair, restore, preserve and appreciation. Qualities of True ownership NOT today's throw away attitude.
    Should make every car owner feel guilty their more modern car doesn't look as well maintained.
    I am not an environmental fanatic but it makes you wonder that since these machines are capable of 40 plus years (yet we dispose after only 10) how the world would be if we didn't burn so much resources and pollute so much.

    Seeing the posts saying LS swap..NOooo go with the newer 3.5L EcoBoost V6 D35 450 HP 510 torque and easier to fit in a Feiro than an LS, even the first gen 2010 one with 365 HP would turn this thing into a beast
