User guide not included..my clippers stopped working..vacuum on, clipper power button shows on. Any help?

I think you have to press and long hold the black button on the shaver.

I have been getting my cat shaved at the vet twice a year because of her long, thick coat making her miserable in the summer. She's getting older & I'm concerned about having her sedated anymore just for grooming. I'd really like to purchase a vaccum system. However, I can't find any videos showing how well the clippers actually shave a cat. My cat has long, thick hair & I'm not sure how well the clippers will shave instead of just trimming. Can you or anyone tell me if the clippers will cut through long, thick hair to actually shave a cat?
